Trieste Mare - Lignano Sabbiadoro

We stayed at Melia Coral ultimately because we needed an extra night. The staff were extremely helpful. We do not speak Italian. We came to Umag to visit relatives who speak very little English. The staff were extremely helpful calling and translating for us over the phone on more than one occasion. The only negative was trying to get hot water to shower. We wasted a lot of water waiting for it to get hot. It only got warm. Other than that, the room was fabulous!

Sol Stella is a part of a large Stella Maris Resort in Umag. It's in beautifull location right on the beach. The Sol Stella has been recently refurbished, so it looks great. New tiled floor, 42" flat screen TV in living area, updated kitchen, nice bathroom and comfy bedroom. From the balcony a partial view of the bay obstructed by the trees. The resort has an ATP Tennis Center used for international tournaments. It has restaurants,bars,pizzeria,supermarket,ATM and Doctor's Office.

It was quick but very enjoyable and scenic. The food service for dinner and breakfast was good on the waterfront. Convenient to the action in the square.

Hotel Tartini is located on the main plaza in Piran across from the shuttle bus from the parking area. Our room was on one of the top floors with a partial view of the harbor. The reception staff were helpful and efficient. Great location! The plaza is most active during the day, but for sunbathing, restaurants, or evening strolls, the area along the peninsula waterfront is the place to go -- but it's an easy walk from the hotel. We stayed 3 nights in June, 2012.
