This hotel is amazing. I was in the city for just a couple of nights, did not eat in the restaurant or use the wellness center, but the room itself was bright, clean, very comfortable. Bathroom was a revelation - walk-in shower and a heated floor. Figuring out the lights and room temperature control was a little confusing, but easy to use once sorted. […] The hotel is just off the center of the old city, getting around couldn't be easier. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the decor is over the top and fabulous, plenty of appealing common rooms to curl up in during the evening. I was a little surprised that a hotel of this size would have only one computer in their business center, but I didn't need to use it. Great (and free) wifi connection in the room. I loved my visit to Ghent, and the Reylof was a big part of that. Would definitely come back! Read more

Old world charm in a small hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect location just a few steps from the Market, yet off the noisy streets. Breakfast was not great: same scrambled eggs/tomatoes/mushrooms each day; pastries and coffee were good.

I stayed in October at this nice hotel in Ghent. It was located near the old town and the room was also nice and comfortable. There were issues with the staff and the fact that the hotel was/is still under construction. The staff did not appear to have much training on how to manage guests. No information on the free wireless or free drinks in the mini […] fridge were provided at check-in. There was also construction noise in the morning at 7:30am that we were not informed about, so no need for an alarm clock. At checkout the charged me for my room again even thought I had proof of payment through Hotels.com. Over 2 months they repeatedly promised to credit my account but failed to follow though. Hotel.com eventually refunded my overcharges from them. Will not stay again. Read more

We stayed for two nights and were very happy. Large room with no carpeting (I think it was Pergo). Large bathroom and shower. Very similar to an American hotel with all of the amenities. Clean and spacious with a good size patio area to sit and eat or read.

it was great fun being a guest at this hotel. why? it is a brand new hotel in old building. nice and modern refurbishment. very friendly staff. the only thing is that they are still building part of the hotel, so expect some construction work in the coming months. restaurant also very good. personally, this would not withhold me from going.

We stated here for 2 nights. Lovely impressive hotel 5 min walk from Ghent centre. Lovely bar and restaurant area. We were met straight away outside by the concierge and led to the underground car park. Great spacious room and free use of lovely spa area. This hotel is fantastic value. The hotel, set in a refurbished mansion, really has the wow factor. From entering the opulent reception area with its dramatic staircase, to the welcoming and luxurious rooms, it's definitely one of the best stops in Ghent. The spa was an added bonus (though be prepared for its European no clothes policy in the sauna/steam room area...!)

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, not only has it been beautifully renovated and extended but the staff are fantastic, just as helpful and accommodating as you could hope for. The hotel couldn't be better located as far as I'm concerned, slightly off the beaten track but only a few minutes walk to the beautiful sights of Ghent. Enjoy!

Nice stay, but be aware of closing times. They close things 15-30 minutes before they say so, like the kitchen. This is rather unfortunate when you need to eat late. We had to order with www.justeat.be to get a meal to our room even though we wanted a meal from the hotel (kitchen was open but they cleaned up already). Can not fault this hotel . Everything from the minute we checked in was perfect and the staff exceptionally accomdating. The only thing I would say is the spa is small ,any more than 20 in and around the pool and it would be cosy but in the grand scheme of things - and this is a Grand hotel - it is but a minor thing .

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this new hotel on the edge of the old town in Gent. It has very quirky decore and high standard throughout. We also enjoyed the small spa center in the old coaching house out back, the sauna and steam room were particularly relaxing.

We were very happy with this hotel! The rooms were really comfortable and clean, and the service was friendly and efficient. The hotel bar felt really classy, and the pool, sauna and steam room were icing on the cake. Not exactly a budget option, but extremely reasonably priced for what they're offering. I'm struggle to find anything to criticise to […] be honest, but if I had to pick on something I'd say they over egged the pudding with some of the interior design choices (garish carpets in the hotel rooms hallways, crass "modern" art in the foyer), but that feels unfair. Bathroom was better, with a nice walk-in shower. A wonderful new hotel with plenty of character and facilities. the bar and cocktail bar are great, good breakfast and comfortable room. I would highly recommend this hotel. Ghent is a great place for a short break.

Stayed in a cosy room, plenty large enough, just missing tea and coffee in the room. Very clean, (I dropped a lid from a cream tube under the bed, wasn't looking forward to retrieving it but there was actually only a tiny sprinkling of dust!!! Impressed!) Air con was good, bathroom had lovely shower with toiletries. Staff were all really friendly and […] helpful. Breakfast was included and was a very nice Buffett style, the usual bread, pastries, cold meat, smoked salmon, fruit, cereal, juices and some hot things, lovely scrambled egg and some other bits that I didn't have. Our 4 night- stay in this hotel whilst visiting family and friends in ghent was very comfortable and relaxed. We phoned in advance to ask for a quiet room overlooking the courtyard gardens and we were very pleasantley surprised when we walked into our room on the first floor. . I am very fussy when it comes to details of comfort and care and i have […] to say that I would go back any time to this very friendly and cared for place to stay! Its the little things that were all taken care off! The black out curtains and , the very efficient soundproofed double- glazed terrace door and fairly firm mattress gave us a good nights sleep. In morning I enjoyed waking- up sitting on our private terrace with a cup of coffee, viewing the well kept garden. The staff had informed us that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but we were welcome to bring a travelkettle, which we did The bathroom was very spacious with a fantastic shower and underfloor heating at the handbasin ! The public spaces in the hotel were very spacious and delicately and artistically decorated with a comtempory touch on sculptures and paintings . I recommend a swim in the wellness centre too! . Whenever we had questions, we were met with very helpfull and friendly staff. And it was only a short walk into the Gentse fieste experience! Very happy with this choice of hotel! This hotel was a great wrap up to a 5 week holiday. We intentionally indulged a little bit, and it was well spent. Great Location, quiet, but close enough to walk to the centre (about 5 min). Didn't try the restaurant, but the facilities are great, a nice jet-lap-pool, bath water warm, a great way to relax in the mild summer weather. One note...I knocked […] the cleansliness because on the balcony the guest before us had been smoking, and left the butts there. Actually the best thing about the hotel is it's location-easy walking disdance from all the historical attractons that make up this great city. The historical exterior hides a modern well appointed hotel.
