The only bad thing I can think of is the doors didn't close very well without a little push. And the only reason is because it was alittle older. Front desk staff was extremely nice and welcoming and helped us with whatever we needed. We didn't use the pool but for being a smaller motel it looked very clean. Very pleasant people to deal with. They made it known that they are always available for whatever you might need. My husband is recovering from hip surgery and they did everything to accomodate his needs including changing our room so he wouldn 't have to climb the stairs and letting us park in front of the office so we could cut thru the pool area […] to get to our room. The room was spotless though a tad small. Old tv with not very good reception. That being said, we were only there to sleep and shower. Great location. We go to the area every year to go to the races in Saratoga and have stayed at various other locations . You wont get a better bang for your buck than you will at the Montreal. Will return for sure. My family reserved this motel on the same day for a 4 day weekend vacation because the place was reasonable, non-pool side view. This motel is a nice, inexpensive place to stay near the center of lake george village. You can walk to all sorts of attractions, shopping, restaurants, and activities in lake george village without having to drive and pay […] for parking. Some places charge one rate for the entire day such as $5 or $7 while street side parking cost $0.25 per 15 minutes. It is also a walking distance to the lake (small public beach area) where you can go for a tan/swim. However, the rooms might be a bit small for a family larger than 3. It was fine for us since my wife and I came with our only son. In addition, the towels are somewhat rough to use in quality. I would definitely stay here again. Read more

The Motel Montreal is located on a quiet road immediately off the main strip in town, and is about a 2 minute walk to Lake George. We stayed two nights and found the hotel to be a great value, very comfortable and very clean. There is also a large pool for guests as well as plenty of BBQ facilities. The hotel is within walking distance to the lake and main village area. It's not difficult to find it. The hotel room needs some refurbishings and some minor bathroom repairs. There's no telephone in the room. Operating the coffee maker is pain in the neck because it can't be moved out of the cabinet. It's attached to the cabinet by its electric cord, […] so it is tight (narrow space) to pour water into it. Also, it might have been good if tea bags and coffee creamer were provided aside from coffee. My companion didn't like the dark color of the carpet and bedspread cover. The color adds darkness to the room. The toilet bowl floor area smelled urine during the first 2 days that I had to clean it again.The air condition unit is not strong enough, but the shower pressure is strong. I think more barbecue or picnic tables and chairs should be provided so other guest users would not wait. The area where my room is not gated/fenced and is close to the road, so that I had to be vigilant and conscious about security and other people coming in especially at night. The room lights are all functioning well, and bathroom amenities (towels, shampoo, soaps, etc.) were provided daily. My boyfriend and I stayed for 6 nights pre-season this year so we got a chance to know the owner, and him and his family are really nice people. Owners of hotel were great and very friendly. The hotel was old and needed updating. The mattresses were not comfortable at all and needed to be replaced. Location was wonderful and very convenient to all of the shops and everything Lake George has to offer.
