Copper Point Resort - Invermere

Billed as a new luxury hotel and the outside was beautiful! The inside of our room was very trendy but already had damage on the bathroom door. We had a standard room booked through expedia for $133 a night so maybe our special discount meant they stuck us in their smallest room but it was very small. The best part was the very soft bathrobes hanging […] in the closet that we we got to wear and the nice featherbed. The buffet breakfast was very good but that is the only choice in the dining room and it is $12.95 per person. We have stayed at the Fairmont Resort down the road in the past and liked it better. We paid a bit more, but it has a hot springs pool included in the price and has a full restaurant so it seemed worth it. Read more

Great stay at the hotel, the suite was like an upscale apartment. The master bathroom was complete with tv in the bathroom mirror, very cool. I watched golf while getting ready for my golf game. Very nicely appointed, outside deck off master bedroom and livingroom was great with BBQ for guest use. Located a day's drive from home in between Radium and Fairmont Hot Springs, Copper Point is in a grand and scenic location. I picked this as a luxury overnight as the last day in Canada. The hotel really deserved a much longer stay, but it served us well. We'd been driving a lot and the relaxation was really nice near the end of our vacation. We didn't […] do any of the cooking or laundry that we could have in what was really a one-bedroom apartment and didn't use the pool facilities. This could have been such a nice hotel. I think it was meant to be a hotel, but they are trying to sell off the rooms. Ok. The good - really nice beds, decor, kitchen, washing machine etc. The bad: noisy air con, not enough linen for the fold-away bed. The staff also didnt even bother to ask if we'd had a nice stay. We really enjoyed our stay. Originally we were given a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the check-in reception area, however, upon our request they changed this without hesitation. Even though the weather wasn't the best, we really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and in the hot tub. The restaurant and lounge were closed (Monday/tues stay). Would have liked to know this prior to booking. Hotel was empty but could not receive an upgrade because rooms were not cleaned. Our toilet was wobbly and plugged. Disappointing stay....

Room was clean and modern, but very small. We are used to a roomier and more comfortable room. Lots of little lights in the room all night (TV, Fridge, light switches, etc) that made room bright. Their was very little service, as it was an off-season resort, not a hotel.

We had a great stay, but there were little flaws that I'll focus on here. Not to be negative, I would definitely go back especially with a bargain rate, but a few things could be improved. The 1-bedroom suite was big and comfortable, and the kitchen very well equipped but not supplied with anything other cleansers, paper towels, etc. (except the usual […] single coffee pod and whitener) so bring milk and whatever. Bring anything you'd cook at home and take advantage. There was a good electric bbq on the patio and four big chairs as well. The sofa bed was among the less comfortable of those, suitable only for young kids. Good 1 1/2 bathrooms, not enough shampoos etc supplied. Great pools and hot tubs, indoor and out. Change room is poorly designed, in five visits I never saw anyone realize that the unmarked door by the lockers was for a private change area. Pool area seems clean but I think could benefit from more frequent cleaning and the showers in the change room all ran out of shampoo/soap. Read more

The room was very small not intended for two adults eg. patio door couldn't be opened without moving the lone chair in the room. There was no desk and no where to sit other on the bed to watch T.V.Bathroom was also very small with no room on the vanity for personal toiletries. Although hotel was far from full we were located about as far away from the […] lobby as possible. Lighting was inadequate for reading. Not so much a resort as there was nothing to resort to, the bar was closed, restaraunt closed and the only thing open was the indoor pool. Meaning we had to drive into Invermere for dinner and no drinks as I had to drive. I guess we stayed out of season but it would have been nice to know that none of the facilities were open.

Worst part is that my room (the last one on the last floor) didn't have Internet. They told me they're working on it, but I had to go to the corridor to be able to see the network. Breakfast was OK, but the additional $13 you have to pay for it was not. At some point someone told us the restaurant closed at 11, we went at 9:15 and the kitchen was already […] closed. The water pressure in the shower was ridiculously low, and the showerhead had like 10 nozzles only. Here are some architectural issues: There's only one lift per wing, so rooms at the end of the corridors are too far away. Limited underground parking space, and the disable sports were usually taken by not disable people... probably lack of proper signaling. The entry/exit to the UG parking is not signaged, and you have to drive on the right thru the ramp, but there's no signage indicating this... an accident waiting to happen. Only two outdoor hot tubs (8-10 ppl each). It was sad to see nearly all rooms with BBQ on the balconies not being used, however I had to cook my sausages on the microwave because my room didn't have a BBQ... c'mon... BBQs are just $200. The hotel as such had potential and most of the decor was quite nice. The pool and hot tub facilities were the only very satisfying things however. The room we got was a corner room, of some weird triangular shape, and it was, simply put, tiny--smaller than any motel room I've been to and even more oppressing. The advertised balcony was barely 1 square […] foot small, and the surrounding walls narrowed the view to the size of a porthole. Inside the room, there was no desk or table to sit at, and, inexplicably, all the lights were neon, even the bed lights. I'm also not sure why one would have a kitchen area without stove. The bathroom looked nice but the doorlock was broken and the showerhead shot water at you with the speed and power of a train. Finally there was no information book (for info facilities, room service, phone numbers, etc) at all, and when we asked for one the receptionist gave one of his thousand excuses. He had to come up with quite a few: the restaurant and bar was closed, i.e. there was no way to get food or drinks at the hotel except from a vending machine. When we asked for information about any restaurants in the vicinity, he had neither a brochure nor any idea about where we could go. While we got a lot of excuses about this and that (just had a busy weekend, etc), we didn't get any apology. The receptionist did have the common sense not to ask us how our stay was... Read more

This hotel is conveniently located just off the highway and it's a very quick drive into the city center. The resort is brand new and the rooms and lobby are beautiful. Underground parking is secure and boasts a 7' tall door for those with trucks. Hot tubs and pool were awesome and the hotel has the BEST bath robes that they even offer for sale. Our pleasant stay at the Copper Point Resort was off season and perhaps that contributed to the peace and quiet that we were able to enjoy. The One Bedroom Suite was quite large and elegantly appointed. We used to kitchen to prepare a couple meals and found that all the basics were provided. I'll keep my wine glasses at home next time - but I might […] bring a good chef's knife. As others have noted the heating/cooling system can be a bit loud, but not too obnoxious. I found the king size bed to be firm, but comfortable. Didn't try the hotel restaurant, but the German 'Black Forest Restaurant' just down the road was fun (staff in lederhosen and dindrl) and tasty! This hotel was awesome, very modern! We enjoyed the outdoor pool and the hot tubs. It was a beautiful weekend, so we were able to experience the outdoors. We had dinner at the Elements Grill, and the meal was delicious! It was obviously a chef who prepared the meal with the presentation. Overall, it was a perfect stay at the Copper Point Resort.
