You cannot stay closeer to the airport. You walk from the Hotel elevator across to the the departure gates. Staff was very helpful with directions on using the train to get into the city.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. Good location for shopping as well as for lovers of art. All major fashion brands are represented in the neighbourhood. The hotel appeared old from the outside but it is sparkling clean inside.

We liked the hotel and would stay there again. Staff was accommodating and helpful during our stay. Hotel and rooms were clean. Rooms were spacious. The room options are confusing. We reserved 3 standard rooms, one of them had a kitchen for the same price but no silverware/china/pots. We did not spend Euro 15 for breakfast there. A butcher and baker are in walking distance and serve breakfast there too. Several restaurants nearby. Commuter rail to Duesseldorf not too far away.

The hotel has rooms in several buildings in the area. That means that you will not necesseraly get a room at the building with the reception an breakfast rest/café. The room we got was surprisingly big. Dont expect 5 star room, but with the great location I would stay at this hotel again.

It would be useful to know that the reception area is in another building 2.5 k away. Instead of coming to you when you need something they require you to come to them.

There were no multilingual staff working when I arrived, making checking in very difficult. In addition, please note that this hotel has NO reception. Te reception is at a different location a mile or so away and you have to check in and out there - breakfast is also there. Very inconvienient if you have no car.

Located in an essen suburb but with easy tram links in city centre. Hotel is clean but basic. Breakfasts good. No non-german TV channels (ancient TV). Some rooms face onto busy road. Staff are nice. There are 3 petuls. The apartment one is supposed to be the nicest but you need to check in in Stolpenberg to get a key. The Petuls are fine for short stays […] for business but in terms of the surrounding area, its dead and the only way out is the tram service into the city. Read more

Petul City Garden is a satellite apartment block away from the centre of town. The only amenities (and highlights) are a McDonalds and Rewe within 50m. To obtain entrance you must check in at the Hotel Petul a few km away, and same for check out, making this less than convenient. Once in City Garden, you are on your own in this sterile new build. Services […] like night reception are hinted at but never seen. In fact prepare for dark eperience outside the rooms as motion sensor lighting in the hallways come on reluctantly if at all and promise an uneven search for rooms in darkness (if travelling early or late) or require a dervish jumping dance to get them to turn on. The high point was a true power shower but even that had not been fully wired properly. Clean but small touches like service were truly missed. I dont normally ask much from a a business hotel but this failed to provide even that leaving memories of a sterile stay and pleasure at checking out. Read more

Jo, det stod i informationerne – på side 3 med en formulering, der ikke lod en ane, at det var en 10-minutter lang biltur væk. Den slags skal stå klart i den allerførste information og ikke gemt væk langt inde i informationsteksten, […] med en formulering, der ikke lader en ane at det ikke er lige om hjørnet. Hotellet hade ingen egen reception vilket inte framkom vid bokning. Vi tilldelades fel rum efter incheckning vilket blir extra krångligt om man inte har reception på plats. De löste det dock snabbt.

Uitstekend hotel, gebouw en kamer zagen er hagelnieuw uit, ruime parkeergelegenheid voor de auto, geweldig grote wellness-douche met vele waterstralen (meestal wil ik liever een badkuip, maar dit kan er voor 2 nachtjes bij mij ook wel mee door); jammer alleen dat het in- en uitchecken bij het hoofdgebouw moet (zo'n 2,5 km verderop) omdat er geen receptie/balie […] is.
