The location of the hotel is unbeatable. We could hear the bells of the abbey and look out to see the parade grounds. I was initially concerned that a BW may be a big box, but they have sensitively maintained much of the character of the wonderful old hotel while incorporating modern amenities like a full, modern, spacious bathroom. We opted for the breakfast inclusive package and found it to be robust and offering many options. We set out on foot and did the whole city from this great central location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was in an idylic country town which afforded great access to local sites such as Bath. Family was an absolute charm with homey rooms with comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast.... Would definitely stay there again....

We stayed one night at this B&B on our way to Bath. It's very convenient if you have a car; parking is free and it's an easy and quick trip into the city. The place itself is absolutely wonderful. The pub serves excellent food with excellent atmosphere; the room was decorated beautifully with a very comfortable bed; and the bath was to die for! Bath was HUGE and had a fantastic deep soaking tub (with room for 2!) and huge walk-in shower. The decor of room and bath is very modern and sleek but still comfortable, and the room still has plenty of old character features. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone staying in the area. In addition, the staff and owner are very pleasant as well.

Beautiful, small old hotel in a quiet area of Bath a fifteen minute walk from the old Roman Ruins and other tourist sights. I would stay here again if I went back to Bath, England

Very pleased with the quality of the hotel,it's location and the attitude of the staff. The breakfast was very good and the service excellent. The view from our room was superb with the Cathedral in full view. We would highly recommend the hotel.

I had read several reviews before booking but felt that some were unfair. This is a nice small hotel which is a guest house as they do not provide evening meals. There is good secure parking and the staff were very friendly. The room was pleasant and with nice side views over the bowing green and gardens at the rear. Breakfast was excellent. It is a […] short and pleasant walk into the shops and all of the main attractions. Overall very pleased and some of the comments seemed unfair. Althought the Hotel was convenient to Bath we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the lack of attention to detail. A bulb not working in the light fitting and thick dust on dado rails and skirting boards. Also a pair of underpants left in one of the drawers - not a pleasant find. "The Ayrlington, Bath - Quiet but close to town!"
We arrived late to The Ayrlington but had no problems with parking in the hotel grounds and were welcomed by the receptionist and shown to our room. The room was a good size and well prepared, slightly chintsy but the room was called Poppy! Breakfast overlooking the garden and Bath was lovely and service was excellent.

A great, traditional small hotel in a classic Bath building. Location is great - just outside the main city centre (so that there is space to park a car and the hotel has a garden), yet close enough for a 5-10 minute walk to all the key attractions in the city centre. My wife I I spent 4 lovely nights in the Ayrlington - and the whole experience was positive and charming. Both our rooms were vast with comfortable beds, lovely furniture and everything we could wish for in what is an up-market B&B. All the staff - including the lovely owner - were helpful at all times - even when I spilled coffee on their carpet! If you don't mind a scenic 10 minute walk into town, this hotel is perfect for you! It is clean, comfortable and our room (the Chinese Room) was enormous. Litet hotell med bra läge. Fin trädgård bakom hotellet med bowlingklubb intill, kul att titta på. Duschen är väggfast - lite obekvämt.
