"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Perfect!"
We were in town to watch the Portland Timbers beat the Vancouver Whitecaps and take a mini-vacation. We stayed for 4 nights at the Kingston. Last year we stayed in a hostel and this was a much nicer experience. The shared bathroom was 2 doors down from our room and did not seem to be a real inconvienience. The room was small but we weren't there to […] hang out in a hotel room so it suited us fine. All in all, it was clean, convienient and just what we were looking for. Read more
"Really Great!! Location Can't be Beat! Affordable!"
Very comfy,Euro-style B&B(bath at end of hall(clean),dry sauna(nice!),quaint brekky area(good opportunity to connect w/ fellow travelers),and the staff, save one(Fred!!),were terrific, warm, welcoming, and most hospitable!'Cept Fred!!!! Go and spend at least 2 nights here.My room had a double/twin bed, which was fine for my 6',235# frame, but too small to […] share!! Sink in room for washing/shaving,small desk to work at,and free wifi!!++ OH Canada! :_D Read more
"Stay elsewhere (unless u have tight budget)"
Good things: location (one block from metro) and three blocks from port; small sauna; OK price; fairly clean. Bad things: No shower in the room; no TV. Only couple bathrooms and showers to share on the floor. Rooms are tiny. Sink has two faucets that cannot be turn silmutaneously (either hot water or cold). Breakfast very poor. Fairly noizy. Old building. Basically, […] unless you are on the tight budget or just want one night to crash and go on with your life--stay elsewhere! Read more
"Kingston Hotel B&B - Downtown Vancouver"
Ok, this is the place to stay if you want a very inexpensive room and don't plan to spend any time whatsoever in your hotel. It is what it is.. the room is very small, but a clean and comfortable bed. That is it. The hotel was clean, well maintained, no frills. Loved it for what it was. Not a honeymoon destination!
"Great location, but..."
This was in fact, the smallest hotel room I've ever seen. I've been in larger bathrooms. I can only recommend this to travelers who need to be in this neighborhood, or to folks who are looking for an inexpensive place to stay, and plan to be out and about the entire day.

"Very Nice"
The Kingston is a very nice hotel, it was clean, centrally located and the staff was very friendly. I only stayed for one day while on transition but will consider staying there again when I am in Vancouver.
I like the hotel and the room. Its very quaint.. a step back in time.
"The sink makes a good toilet"
The rooms in this hotel do not come with bathrooms - instead there are common bathrooms in the halls. A little ingenuity leads one to realize that the sinks in the rooms are perfectly constructed to double as toilets. My girlfriend and I both took turns relieving ourselves in these conveniently located porcelain bowls (though she needed a boost). The […] drains are large enough such that defecation should not be a problem, but no trials of this were attempted. We were woken up a minimal number of times by loud, aggressive sex in the room next door - overall not that bad really. There were bagels for breakfast. They were pretty good. We also drank orange juice and then indulged in the privacy of our sinktoilets once again before bidding goodbye to the nice man at the front desk. Read more

"Perfect for the single traveller or a one nighter!"
I love this place, my friend and i wanted to come over for grey cup but couldnt afford the hotels. We saw this one and crossed out fingers. I admit im a bit of a snob, and even I enjoyed my stay. The clerk Fred at the front even held our keys so we didnt loose them. The pub next door is amazing and massive. what a find! we will be back!!! ps: no tv's […] in the room, so if thats your thing.. then dont stay, but for a great walking distance to everything fun in Van.. do it!! "Bargain"
Vancouver is not a cheap city to stay in. If you don't mind walking down the corridor to use the shower, this hotel is a bargain. Location is great - close enough to Granville, Gastown, Westend. Breakfast is basic, coffee and bagels, but prepared for you when you arrive. I only spent a night here, but wished I'd stayed for longer!

Read more
