We stayed at Carlton Residences for 4 nights. It was fairly convenient to all the local attractions of Melbourne. We liked having the kitchen and we felt safe. Lots of city noise which we weren't used to, but we were very comfortable.

we were very disappointed in the room. the freezer was frozen. no airconditioning or ceiling fans. tin roof above us on a 34degrees day. underneath the tv stand had not been dusted for goodness how long. the microwave oven was in the bottom of the cupboard, as someone with a fractured coccyx and unable to bend was a nightmare, very silly design

The first thing you would notice when inside the room is the dusty sofa. The beds are okay but there is a very dirty red coloured cloth placed on the foot end of bed which I think is for decoration. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 adults. There is only 1 mirror and a towel rack in the toilet. The four of us have no place to hang our towels and have to take turn to use the mirror in the toilet. I would suggest installing a mirror in the wardrobe doors and put some hooks behind the room and toilet doors.

Unfortunately our stay was marred by a few things that made the stay unpleasant. By far the biggest issue is that there is a nightclub located right next to the residential building and on Friday and Saturday during our stay from 11pm - 6am we could not sleep due to the music emanating from the nightclub. The noise started at 3am and went till 6am both nites we were there, really loud and we did not sleep a wink both nites . Hotel was basic and could have been cleaner. Close to city outskirts which was convenient for us.Stayed for two nights and had virtually no sleep due to the Night Club nearby. Friday Night, the music was going when we arrived (8pm) - it got louder at Midnight to just after 4am when it went quieter until a6am finish. Saturday Night the music started […] at Midnight and went until 6am - very loud, A fight outside the Nightclub during the night did not help as there was a lot of yelling, etc. My wife who was not very well became distressed on Saturday due to no sleep. I didn't know what to make of the accomodation given the different review. I would describe it as between a student hall/dorm and a hotel. Like a student hall given that it is not luxurious decor but like a hotel because it was clean with towels, toileteries, kitchen equipement, etc. provided. When moving in the receptionist was particularly helpful, allowing me to make a few local phone calls and to borrow an electrical adaptor. Small courtesies can mean quite a lot! The biggest drawback was that the walls were thin and so I could hear street noise or other residents late at night. Might not be the best place, therefore, for a business person who needs sleep. Really friendly and helpful staff. The room was great for the price, comfortable bed and very clean. Could hear people arrive from the elevator, but as soon as they went to their rooms, I couldn't hear a thing. Five minute walk to Lygon St, and to Melb Uni. We left the fan on and closed the door but it was overpowering in the morning when we used the bathroom. The location is super, very closely to all iconic sightseeings. Near the hotel there is a supermarket, Victoria market and a park. The hotel is not luxury, but suitable for staying with a kitchenettes and separated rooms (it was very comfortable for 3 persons). I recommend this hotel for those who come to Melbourne for the first time.

Although a brief one night stopover, I found the accomodation quite adequate. The front desk staff were most obliging and I was even able to access my room mid-morning. I had booked a studio but was upgraded to a double, so am unable to comment on the studio size bed/room. The double was more than adequate. Fortunately the windows are double glazed, because there is a disco around in the next street that thumps out music from around 1100pm through 6.00am on weekends. 접근성 면에서 좋은 듯.. 다만, 에어컨도 히터도 없다는 점.. 그리고 레지던스라는 특징... (호텔과는 다르다는 전제조건을 고려하면 좋음) 5박을 했는데, 금요일과 토요일은 레지던스 앞쪽에 위치한 바에서 밤샘 공연을 해서, 잠을 잘 수 없었네요. 그것도 좀 힘들었습니다. 그래도 5일동안 저렴한 가격에 잘 지내다 왔습니다. 호텔급의 서비스를 원하지 않는 분이라면, 깨끗하고 괜찮을 듯 합니다.
