The rooms are quite small but very clean and comfortable. Not used to having insufficent storage to empty our 2 suitcases but the staff was very pleasant and attentive. The hotel was remodelled in 2010 so it is in excellent condition. The ski room was great and had nice ski boot warmers. Next time will book all the evening meals in advance as there is a heft premium to book on a day to day basis - which we did anyway because the food was quite good. All in all a very pleasant stay with convenient ski bus stops.

Just a nice place to stay. Very nice people rooms are fun and very clean. Maybe the fact that you cannot control the heat in the room was a drag. As long as you keep the balcony door open to cool down the room you will be ok. Great spa and outside jacuzzi. Good ski room with boot heater in each closet nice touch in the morning before you go to ski. Just don't go ski in the Italienne side. We got stock there 1 night in a unconfortable hotel. They close the gondola for no reason ( nothing to do with the hotel) and if you dont have 700 euros to go back via taxi to zermatt you are done!!!! great hotel. We will be back.

Everything was great. Location was great for skiing. The hotel staff picked me up at the bus station and dropped me off as well at no charge - and my outbound trip was at 6am. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.

Description of Hotel Matthiol - Zermatt

Location.
Ski in and ski out at Hotel Matthiol in Zermatt. You'll be within easy reach of Sunnegga Ski Resort and winter activities such as alpine skiing and downhill skiing. Also nearby are Schwarzsee and Gorner Ridge.

Hotel Features.
After a day on the slopes, indulge in a treatment at the full-service spa or soothe your muscles in the spa tub. Hotel Matthiol helps provide the perfect ski vacation with ski storage and ski passes. At the end of the day, order après-ski drinks at the hotel's bar.

Guests can enjoy a meal at the onsite restaurant. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. Additional amenities at this 4.5-star hotel include a health club and a steam room.

Guestrooms.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Hotel Matthiol, and have only good things to report. Hotel itself is gorgeous, boutique chic, with enough... attention to detail to make it special. This hotel is at the top end of town which we were well aware of, it only takes about 15 minutes to walk from the centre (uphill...great to work off your meal and a beer!). Staff were lovely, very attentive without encroaching on your privacy. Our room was gorgeous, good space and a balcony to sit out on.The bed was ridiculously comfortable, as well as being massive...2 duvets so no fighting over the duvet!! The room was quite hot, and we tended to sleep with our balcony door open. Bathroom suite lovely, bath deep enough to swim in!! The spa facility was great, with my only criticism being that the jacuzzi could be hotter. You can go with swim attire on or butt naked (being Brits we were covered up!!!). Breakfasts were fantastic, with a large buffet selection as well as hot food option (we had a bit of everything to fuel us up for a day up the mountains on the mountain bikes!). We didn't eat in the hotel at night so cannot comment, as after a day on the mountains we were looking for more "stodge" than fine dining!! The hotel offers a pick-up and drop off service for arrival/departure. I simply popped into the travel information centre on arrival at the train station and they phoned the hotel for me. おしゃれな送迎車で到着した先は，こだわりの山小屋風ホテルでした．ロビー横に，コーヒーメーカーと紅茶，フルーツとホームメイドケーキが置いてあり，いつでも，無料でいただくことができました．部屋には，マッターホルンの形のチョコレートと手書きのウェルカムメッセージがあり，心こもった，もてなしでした．インテリアもこだわりが感じられ，素敵！がいっぱいのホテルです．夕食をいただきましたが，味，見た目，オリジナリティー，どれをとっても文句なしでした．シェフが，女性とのこと，なるほど！と納得できました．とてもお勧めです．

Wir konnten 3 tolle Tage im Hotel Matthiol geniessen. Es wäre toll, wenn es in der Schweiz noch mehr solche Betriebe geben würde. Man spürt, dass alle Mitarbeitenden Ihren Job gerne machen. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Ein grosses Kompliment gebührt auch dem Küchenchef. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Es sind auch viele kleine Dinge, die Freude machen, […] sei es die Kaffeemaschine, die rund um die Uhr benutzt werden kann, der gratis PickUp am Bahnhof oder die Präsentation des Frühstücks-Buffetts. Wir können dieses Hotel allen wieterempfehlen. Für uns war es kein Nachteil, dass das Hotel am Ortsrand von Zermatt war, im Gegenteil. Read more

Hotellet var helt perfekt. Det ligger helt inntil skogen med flott utsikt til Matterhorn. Det er et lite stykke å gå ned til sentrum men det går el-buss/taxi hvis man ikke orker å gå. Vi var på sykkelferie der, og de var særdeles behjelpelige med alt fra lagring av syklene til vasking etc. Middagen var perfekt og frokosten veldig god. Vi hadde et standard […] dobbeltrom, og dette var veldig fint. Servicen til de som jobbet der var utmerket. Kan ikke annet enn å anbefale dette hotellet på det sterkeste. Read more

The hotel is at least 30 min walk from main street. It does not have room service. You have to order food from restaurant and you will wait until everybody who made a reservation eats. You do not have privacy on bathroom because of glass design. Staff friendly but with poker face. Breakfast is good and you have to choose only one hot dish.

Das Hotel liegt im hinteren Dorfteil von Zermatt, etwas weg vom Trubel im Dorfkern. Sehr persönlicher Empfang und Bedienung. Schöner, gut ausgestatteter Wellness-Bereich. Ideal für das Weekend zu zweit!

Auch bei Wetterverschlechterung ist dieses Hotel mit den schönen Wellnessräumen ein erholsamer Ort. In den Suiten bekommt man sogar ein richtig wohliges Wohngefühl. Besonders schön sind auch die Belichtungsmöglichkeiten, also ideal auch zum lesen, wenn kein Wanderwetter ist.
