Was great experience, the people was very nice and the service is impeccable, the hotel is in a very cool area, very secure near to everything, good restaurants, metro station, touristic landmarks.. i highly recommend this place. Very limited English on the staff..

The hotel itself was ok, but what made me happy with our stay here was the concierge. They were incredibly helpful and spoke English pretty well. They helped us plan all of our activities in Beijing and had great recommendations for restaurants and helped us make reservations,etc. Overall good value and i would recommend because of the staff.

The hotel is pretty close to the train station, close to the forbidden city, and the square (two train stops) and does not say 'Inner Mongolian' in the hotel name. A little misleading. It is easy to take the subway. Room was comfortable, service was pretty good in terms of cleaning the room. At a inexpensive price it was good. The breakfast is great […] (about 98RMB). A little pricy by Chinese standards, but given everything is a walk, train or cab away, it is not bad. The people at the front desk were nice, but were hesitant to help us get cabs when we were looking (may also be because getting a taxi in Beijing in certain areas is difficult). They programmed the living room in our suite to stay at 23 C, so we were forced to only run the bedroom ac to attempt to get it cooler. It was still a losing battle. Bed was comfortable. Rooms could be cleaner. Streaks on all the mirrors. Minor sewage smell even on the 12th floor. South side of hotel felt warmer as we walked through the long corridor […] to that side. May want to request regular rooms near the center or suites on the north side corners. Buffet was good, always busy. Stayed here due to a deal on suite. For a regular room I may have have chosen somewhere else. Language not a big issue, but we never ask for much. Was told that taxis/drivers/restaurants are not tipped in China, but our driver to Mutianyu certainly expected one. I recommend you consider tipping a private driver to avoid a cold farewell. Bellhop expected a tip, but that is normal. Try eating a meal at the Food Republic food court, basement of the Oriental Plaza Mall. Get a card near the entrance (for 2 people you can just give them 100 yuan and get the change back by returning the card afterwards). Then wander around the stalls and choose a dish by indicating "one" and pointing to a dish. Some speak some English to tell you what meat is in the dish. The chicken and noodle dish from the guys in the green hats (straight back from the entrance) was good. Get your drinks at the one place that sells drinks near the entrance. Good for lunch/cheap dinner rather than resorting to Mc Donald's. Read more

This this place could be 5/5. First the good: It was a great value, friendly porter staff, and had a great location (close to Dondong subway station) making it ideal for exploring iconic Beijing attractions (Tiananmen, Forbidden Palace, central museums, etc...). The Hutong behind the hotel (east) also houses a great variety of shops for things like […] laundry, snacks/food, that are WAY cheaper than at hotel/tourist locations. Now the bad: during our stay a sewer like smell started to emanate from the pipes in our bathroom. It got progressively worse. Also, there's no real AC. The entire hotel is balanced on an averaged grid (which we found to be quite hot). When we asked to change rooms they said they'd provide a personal AC unit...which turned out to be a fan. Decent hotel w convenient location. It's a government owned/managed hotel so don't be surprised if you see local government officers holding meetings there. Beds are the most comfortable ones of all the five 4-4.5 hotels we have stayed in china. Breakfast buffet gives a lot of options. Most staff are Mongolia minorities. The stay was very nice, hotel staff and amenities were all very good. The only problem was that they did not tell us the restaurants are not part of the hotel and all have different payment policies. None allowed charging to the room, one of the two we used would accept foreign credit cards, the other which was much more expensive, would not. The only […] payment method for foreigners was cash. As there are no notices, we almost had a very embarrassing situation, particularly as the ATMs in China do not always accept foreign cards. I think the hotel wass good. The location was close to to everything, but not so close that it was too noisey. We were provided a nice comfortable room.upon arrive not ussue withthe reservations. The not so good included the following: the bathroom, i veliece the shower had a very vrry bad odor coming the sewage. They diffently had a sewage issue. I asked to have someobe come and look at it but never saw any one look at it or received a response. The rooms are cleaned very late in the evening around 4pm. Housekeeping was very slow. When i requested any service it took them about 2 hrs to delivery. I had to call back sometimes to remind them. Also, many hotels do not have ac duribg certain months of the year, including this one. However we opened the windows and.go a.good.breezegoing through the room pergaps we benefited from have a corner room with windows ob two sides. Great location, 1 mile from forbidden city or two stops by subway. Subway station was one block away. Area had options for food. Staff spoke decent english and helpful. Only negative was that you could not change the temperature in your room, and being set at 26 C was uncomfortable.

Good central location. Close to subway. Public bus goes right by to Pearl Market. Lots of shopping close by. Good quality room, we stayed on the 8th floor after trying 3 rooms on the 12th floor. Sewer gas is a problem. Stayed here 2 times both times 8th floor was fine.

Our stay at the Inner Mongolia got off to a shaky start when the map provided by hotels.com was completely wrong!! After walking around a whole block (which in Beijing are pretty large) we managed to find the place (get off at Dongdan subway station, exit D). One of the concierge's was very helpful in organising us a car for the day (however he failed […] to inform us that the Longqing Ice Latern Festival wasn't open on the day we wanted to go), and even lent us some coats on a particularly cold day.
