Beautiful resort, accommodating staff, great food, and a wonderful beach. Loved the zen, Asian inspired theme and the Mayan show to the Gabi Club. They went the extra mile with the royal service to make sure our stay was unforgettable. Never experienced anything like it.

We came here for our Honeymoon, which we booked through Expedia. We arrived after a 45 minute ride from the airport and we're immediately greeted by the Staff. They had cold towels and a drink for us which was a nice touch. We were taken to the Royal Service check-in area and were given all the information. For anyone on the fence about Royal Service, spend the extra money and get it, it's totally worth it. You get a butler, private pool area, private beach area, private lounge, and access to the best restaurant in the resort, La Palapa. We had a partial ocean view room, and we were very glad we did. If you get a room with a swim-up suite or above the swim-up suites facing the pool, be ready for lots of noise. The one thing that was annoying was when there were really loud and drunk people hanging out at the swim-up bar. There's no way to avoid this, because there's always a couple of people that love to be loud and brash and get drunk. Thankfully, there's another pool area that's away from this that is totally serene and quiet. The beach is small but there's plenty of seats and beds. The Staff does a great job cleaning the seaweed and keeping it tidy. Yes it is rocky in the water, but that is nature and not a mark against the resort. There's a great natural pool with locals if you walk left from the property as well. The rooms were nice and large and the outdoor jacuzzi was very nice. We used it a few times.

My wife and I enjoyed our honeymoon there. It was beautiful and very pleasant. At first we were having a tough time getting our rooms cleaned accordingly and our butler to address our needs but after we expressed ourselves they went above and beyond to surpass our expectations. From surprising us with champagne bottles to having the jacuzzi ready for our arriving and many other gestures that were greatly appreciated.

My husband and I decided to stay at this hotel based upon the reviews. We were pretty pleased with the overall experience, despite a few hiccups. 1. Upon arriving, there was confusion on where we should wait. We were told it would be a few minutes so my husband and I proceeded to sit down(across from reception). We were then greeted by a concierge and told we shouldn't have been sitting there, and to proceed to stand in line. Having previously stayed at 4-5 star resorts, it's usually the other way around. Guests relax and they do the check-in from the seats, not a problem but just something worth noting. 2. Overall, our experience with our concierge was just plain terrible. He forgot to make us dinner reservations, never told us about the Royal Service, never explained where to go to make spa or activity reservations, and forgot to tell the restaurants about our dietary restrictions(vegetarian). He never once contacted us after the first day and we did everything ourselves, which was surprising after we heard all these amazing things about the other concierges. For vegetarians - this hotel has a difficult time establishing what a vegetarian is. Vento Restaurant labels the beef, chicken and pork dishes as vegetarian so ask lots of questions because almost everything contained some type of meat product at EVERY restaurant.

This was my third time to visit the Cancun/Playa del Carmen area; however, this was the best experience thus far. The hotel staff was very inviting and everyone was so friendly and courteous. We had Royal Service - which I HIGHLY recommend. Royal Service guests get to enjoy the private beach area, the Royal Service pool with swim-up bar, Las Palapas restaurant, and special room amenities including the butler service. The butler was like a concierge and he checked in on us throughout the day. Diego (our butler) even threw in a special surprise here and there! My favorite bartender was Enrique at the Royal Service pool. We literally went to the pool everyday because of him. He was funny, attentive, made great drink recommendations, and was a pleasure to talk to. He went out of his way to make everyone happy! This hotel experience exceeded my expectations and we can't wait to go back!

We had a great stay. The restaurants that were reservation only in the evenings were really good! They could switch up the breakfast menu from day to day, and the a la carte dinner we had was terrible. The bartenders are good with a pretty decent bar tending vocabulary. The beach isn't huge and had a decent amount of seaweed, but this is everywhere in Playa right now because of the ocean temperature. The swimming area is rocky. The rooms were nicely sized (we had a junior suit), but are extremely loud. You can hear everything going on in the hallways and rooms around you, at ALL times of the day. We didn't get Royal Service, and were glad we didn't, as we simply didn't need it. The staff was really attentive and we rarely had to wait on anything, although sometimes during the day, they close the beach bar, causing a long wait time for drinks, which isn't the waiters fault. Overall, this is a nice resort that offers all inclusive.

My husband and I (ages 28 & 26) booked a trip here to relax and get away from a busy work life. We were very pleased with our stay. Pros: The hotel is new and clean. The rooms look exactly like the pictures. The air conditioner was very cold. The bed was very comfortable. The food was amazing! I am a vegetarian (no seafood) and every single restaurant had a few options or were willing to accommodate my requests. My husband had some of the best chicken in his life at the Market. We really liked the variety of restaurants available. La Palapa and Bana were our favorites. The service was amazing. Angel and Carlos were always coming by our Bali bed or stopping by our pool chairs to see if we needed anything. Everyone was so polite and friendly. One of the concierge staff even remembered details about us a few days after we met him. No one was pushy about time shares or any of that. The resort never felt crowded. We always found a Bali bed and could make dinner reservations anywhere we liked, as long as we made them before 3. The beach is a small but it was sufficient and was easy to get to. It was much nicer than the beach at our resort in Cancun a few years back. Cons: When we checked in I asked the receptionist if there were any upgrades available, as I booked through Expedia and it has it listed as a VIP resort, with extra perks. The staff and manager said it was a mistake on the website and the agreement with Expedia had expired. The VIP Access is still advertised.

We were there in October 2014. it rained 5 out of 6 days during our stay. Excellence food at all the restaurants we have tried (7 restaurants) and services were great. we had a ocean view room and the room is pretty clean and comfortable. However, we were very disappointed with the beach. Its full of rocks and seaweeds.

We stayed at paradisus for our honeymoon. The staff is very helpful and friendly, though we did noticed that some bartenders think you don't know the difference is your drink. Asked for a crown and coke and got coke with brandy or other whiskey. Yuck. Room service food is not great, if you really want room service I would recommend ordering just cold items ( desserts, salads, drinks) as the hot items usually arrive cold/stale. The hotel is one big resort separated by a common area dividing "la perla" & "Esmeralda" . And you will encounter some kids in the common areas for the shows ( we specifically wanted an adults only resort and still had to deal with kids running around for the shows) We still had a great time in the hotel though !

Resort is central to Mayan ruins, Cozumel ferry and Cancun. It's a rather large resort so unless you're in the center buildings restaurants and bars are a fair walk. Staff is incredible, all issues are resolved and then some. Only negative is the beach is unusable due to seaweed (not sure if it's a seasonal thing, but the amount of seaweed and odor from it was immense).

Love this place! Everyone is extremely friendly and go out of their way to please you. Rigoberto, our breakfast waiter, was the best! We requested him every day and he had our order ready for us without even asking. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is in the center of all te attractions of you decide you want to go out of town. We had a car so we drove to cancun and tulum. We also bought an excursion at Xplor and went to coco bongo. It was near everything. 5th avenue, which is a really awesome shopping street, is within 10 mins away. The location was perfect.

My husband and I came here for our babymoon. Our arriving flight left us aggravated and hungry. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with cool towels to refresh ourselves, and our bags were kindly tagged and taken away for us while we checked in. Checking in was easy, and we were offered welcome drinks (I had to send mine back for something virgin). Then, we were introduced to our personal concierge, who described the restaurants and other amenities for us. Dinner requires reservations, so he wanted us to choose on the spot where we wanted to dine for the 3 nights we were staying. That was a little inconvenient since we hadn't even had time to review the restaurants other than the short descriptions he gave, but it was nothing a short phone call or visit to him couldn't fix later on if we changed our minds. He saw that we just wanted to get to our room, so he kept his spiel short and told us how to pick up our luggage, find our room, and where we could eat lunch in the hotel. We got to our room, and it was beautiful and secluded-feeling! We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the hotel. Dinners each night were a culinary treat. The beach was just a short walk away and not too crowded, which the pool would become. Had massages at the spa, and that was super relaxing. It was great having everything within the hotel and getting to feel pampered.

We reserved this resort knowing it had great reviews but our stay exceeded our expectations. The staff were so accommodating and polite (it honestly took a while to get used to everyone being so nice). The resort was huge and had plenty of fun activities you could enjoy daily (wine tasting, dance lessons, Zumba, cigar making, pool parties, live music and shows...) We were greeted with drinks and even though we arrived hours before our check-in, they held our luggage and we were free to explore and enjoy a variety of services. There was almost always a cabana available by the pool (with a swim up bar!) so we could lounge around with cold drinks and delivered meals all day - Thats just what we look for in a vacation). The private beach was gorgeous, the deep tissue massages we got were incredible and there were a lot of restaurants to choose from (Bana was our favorite). Also, the room service was amazing (who knew it could be so easy to get m&ms and beer delivered at 3am?). We were sad when we had to leave and will definitely return in the future but will likely upgrade to the Royal Service option (more perks) and stay in a room that has a deck that lead directly to the pool.

The only thing I would recommend to this hotel would be weatherstripping on the doors. The rooms open to the outdoors and the doors don't seal out humidity giving it a faint musty smell, and you can hear people in the hallway. Food and drinks were awesome. Our concierge seemed a little standoffish when we declined to be pitched on their vacation club sales pitch.

Service was fantastic - everyone was attentive and the ambience was romantic for honeymooners. The build-out is modern, but very comfortable. There were bali beds or cabanas everywhere to lounge, Nescafe and Illy coffee bars, and loads of fine dining a la carte options to try. We sadly didn't get to try all of them. Food was fantastic for the most part.

The Paradisus is a gorgeous resort that is meticulously manicured every day. The design and architecture are second to none. The rooms are huge and the beds are comfy. The bathroom is amazing with a huge bathtub and a two person shower. My biggest recommendation is to upgrade to a swim up room! The couple I met there did not do this and they ended up hating having to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get back where i literally just walked into mine from the pool. My biggest gripes about the resort have to do with the service but I think this is easily overcome. The resort was very Spanish oriented, which i know the resort is in Mexico so speak their language right? Well i have been to many resorts and never have i met so many people who are in customer service roles who speak no English. This might be why the vast majority of people there on vacation were Mexican. The other issue with customer service was the need to tip everyone! I brought $50 in ones to start the week and buy the end of the third day I was out of money. This wouldn't have been a big deal but for the fact that you either tip or get absolutely ignored. For example the bar tender will let you shoot at his bar for 10 mins before you get a drink and make it watered down. I have never seen so many people expect tips. Literally where is the bathroom I would say and they would walk me 10 feet and have their hand out for a tip. I highly recommend this resort as a whole. See Carmen for a cappuccino in the main lobby!

This was an AMAZING place to stay with the BEST service..... We had a balcony suite that had everything. We were celebrating our 18th anniversary & they made it very special. Every night when we came back to our room they had the room done up with roses & champagne or had the hot tub going with flower pedals ext. This is the place to stay for ROMANCE.... This resort is very laid back not like a 24 hr party. And the restaurants were wonderful. Every night had nightly entertainment. Everywhere you go on this resort has the BEST service!!!!!! We had a Jr Suite with the Royal Services that was a dream. Their goal is to make your stay a dream..

I am not one to ever complain but I believe the hotel experience could of been a whole lot better. First I would begin with the check in process. My husband and I took a red eye flight and arrived early Sunday morning. Their check in process begins at 3pm but having been to other Cancun resorts (Riu Resorts) I have been checked in almost immediately or close to noon. Being that this hotel is more upscale, my expectations were they would accomodate us knowing that we have just arrived from a long flight. The front desk although were polite said they could not check us in until 3pm but would see what they could do. Then they had a hostess (Diana) greet us and showed us around the resort and escorted us to have breakfast. Althougth she was nice with helping us with our dinner reservations for the week we kept explaining how exhausted we were and just wanted to rest. She did not seem to have an urgency with helping us get a room much faster but proceeded with selling us excursion and spa packages. My husband and I were very frustrated due to our flight exhaustion. We soon felt abandoned in the freezing hotel lobby since it began to rain heavily outside and we. After 3 hours of sleeping on the hotel couches no once ever approached us to see how were doing nor offerred a blanket since there was a thuunderstorm outside! Once I awoke, I walked to the front desk and the receptionist looked startled that I was still in the lobby. He quickly said he would get us a room after seeing me.

This hotel in not all inclusive, u have to pay for wine and some food. The upgrade that i was promised was not received even though i was told i will get one for free because i booked a 7 night stay. The food itself was horrible if i knew that the entire trip i would be eating hamburgers and hotdogs i would have stayed home. The cleaning ladies DO NOT RESPECT YOUR PRIVACY. They come in when they want even though i had a privacy sign on the door. The staff r rude. The safe that i had in my room was not working after the cleaning lady left my room. (The safe was working just fine for 3 days when i didnt allow the cleaning lady to come in). This is suppose to be adultS only but there were kids everywhere. The only kids free zone was our adults only pool. The restaurants and the beach were full of kids. The beach is really dirty full off seaweed on the sand that is not cleaned all rocks. Basically you dont even want to get in the water thats how dirty it was. The public beach right next to the resort was a lot cleaner. THIS IS NOT ADULT ONLY RESORT!!!!!!#! Over all experience was horrible TO SAY THE LEAST.

The resort was amazing. The rooms were very nice and the food was great! We loved La Palapa and The Grill. The only bad part are the mangroves. There is essentially no ocean view.

Everyone wants money. They talk to you for 2 minutes and then try to sell you something. The resturant Fuego was horrible staff and food. The itinerary said free room upgrade but the charged me $400. The jacuzzi was broken, I called everyday and they fixed it on the 5th day.

The resort was wonderful, the only down fall was the restaurant reservation availability. I recommend making all your restaurant reservations as soon as you arrive.

A beautiful hotel, quiet and peaceful on the adult only side. Loved the spa and the beach. Super friendly and attentive staff. Loved talking with Ekaterina from Club Melia, even though I didn't join...yet! There's a nice gym. We enjoyed the tequila tasting.

Very relaxing, beautiful place. Hotel facilities, restaurants and rooms were all excellent. Service was exceptional. Might not be the best place if you're interested in a lot of activities and want to be close to downtown Playa Del Carmen. But if you're looking for a relaxing vacation or romantic getaway, I highly recommend.

My husband and I returned yesterday from a week-long stay at the Paradisus La Perla in Playa del Carmen. This trip was the first time we visited Mexico and will definitely not be the last. From the moment we stepped off the van that brought to the hotel and were greeted with cold, refreshing towels and a cool beverage, we felt welcomed and pampered. Most of our time was spent at the pool at La Perla, and the staff was outstanding, particularly Alfonso and Angel. We would recommend this resort to anyone planning a trip to Playa del Carmen; it was a true week in paradise.

The only thing that my group and I didn't like was that when we got upgraded to a nicer room on the different side of the resort none of the staff on that side of the hotel could help us. everything we asked them they told us we had to walk across the resort and ask the staff on that side. It was a hassle when we are trying to plan dinners and get information about our stay.

Had an incredible girls trip to La Perla. The room was extremely comfortable. Good was amazing and the staff was more than helpful. I'm not one to visit a place twice but this would be the exception!

The hotel was beautiful, relaxing and such a calm atmosphere. The staff was impeccable. So friendly and attentive. Anything we needed they were on top of it and with a smile. The resort itself was a very "zen" and peaceful, a true vacation!

This property exceeded our expectations! We had a late arrival, and we were met with cold towels and a drinks. The check-in process was easy and quick. The property is large and it does take some walking to get to the beach, who cares?? The beach and water are beautiful and there were always plenty of chairs and umbrellas. To avoid the rocks in the water, all you had to do was enter the water closer to where the scuba boat anchors...no rocks!! The service on the beach was amazing!! Thanks Cecilia for the fantastic service!! We always had a cold drink...try the frozen mojito. The restaurants are great. We didn't care much for Mole, the Mexican restaurant. But Fuego is wonderful...Thank you Ernesto for great service! If you are wanting an adult only dinner, then you need to let them know when you make your reservations because some of the restaurants allow families. The food on the beach is great! The only negative is the noise at night (or early in the morning). Noise bleed is a big issue. We were awakened at 5:00 am 2 mornings due to heavy feet and the scooting of furniture. We were surrounded with noise above and next to us. Also, July is a big holiday time for natives and they are late night people!

This resort is all around amazing and by far exceeded our expectations. The staff are very friendly, the food is fantastic, and the resort is absolutely beautiful! We received a free upgrade to our room as well. We are planning on going back to Playa Del Carmen next year and after staying at the Paradisus La Perla, I don't think I could stay anywhere else.
