The wife and I decided to have a romantic get away to St. Louis for a hockey game. Stayed at the MAC. I do triathlons so of course I took advantage of all the workout equipment daily. From the moment we stepped in to check on parking (yes, parking in the garage is put on your room tab but well worth it) until the time we left, we had a blast. The staff […] was so friendly and helpful. I felt the southern hospitality instantly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you are planning to visit downtown area. Very easy access to all the major Interstates. Only reason I gave it a 3 on room comfort is because the mattress was a little too firm for my liking. I sleep on a Tempurpedic so I'm picky like that. One of the workers told me that they have a new GM and he is working to replace all the mattresses. Read more

Nice, stately and storied old institution with a hilarious dress code from the 1980's (no jean jackets, tube tops or Spandex!) Wood paneling and paintings in the lobby - even a moose head! Older building, radiator heat was hard to control. It got very warm in the room. Some rooms had a shortage of outlets and wifi connections were not good.Staff was very nice, very good brunch at a reasonable price. Rooms clean. There is a drop as you leave bathroom that can jar you. I left a garbage can at the door to remind me.

The hotel had amazing service!!! All employees were friendly and helpful. The lobby was beautiful. The rooms were small, but they were clean and had a vintage charm. The location was great also, downtown and only a block from the metro.

Step in this hotel and you are transported back 100 years in time. Upon entering, you can smell a hint of the aroma from the many cigars that must have been enjoyed in the lobby from way back when, and many varieities are for sale at the front desk. The hotel was described as a 4 star accommodation. The lobby area was beautiful and the basketball court and athletic facilities were top notch. However, the rooms were the worst I've seen in years. It was like a step back in time and then shabby. The showers are like old run down high school locker room showers. The bedding appears to be the original […] with no alternate blanket to use besides the 70's bedspread. The cooling/heating system did not work, nor had we ever seen dials such as those. the lobby smelled continuously like cigars, which was tough for a person who has an allergy to smoke. also there were no convenient outlets in the room, one was broken and NONE in the bathroom. but it was clean and the service was excellent.

Hey! There's only one 4 in my review: comfort of room. They ran out of hot water within my room, but because I had an athletic pass, I was able to rally and shoot up to the awesome men's locker room. This make shift, run down non insultated walled building in the midst of the ghetto so called hotel was very disappointing. My bf and I NEEDED a weekend away. The Lady at the Front Desk was VERY nice and helpful. The only reason I rated the Room Comfort so low was because the heat and air are all hooked together throughout the building. We had to open a window in the middle of the night because it got to about 80 degrees in our room.

I was in town to visit a NFL game at Edward Jones Dome. Over night parking is MUCH cheaper then game day parking. $10/night for a guest. Game day parking was $30. THE ROOMS DON'T HAVE AIR CONDITIONING! Yes, hard to believe, I know! We were told to open the window and turn on the ceiling fan! The Hotel lobby area is beautiful and kept. Lobby was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We just stayed overnight before the Rams v 49ers and the room was basic but fine for our purpose. I would recommend it to anyone needing a hotel centrally located. 300 yards from Edwards Dome and all pre game tailgating.
