Sun bright hotel is located in Chinatown conveniently a few blocks away from the several stops of the subway system. After staying out late, it was very easy to return to the hotel in just a few minutes in the subway from pretty much anywhere in manhattan. That being said, i really cant think of anything else positive to say about the hotel. I stayed […] in a male "Semi-private room", and if you are wondering what that means.... It means that your room has four walls but it does not have a ceiling. Of course the floor has a ceiling but it is high above the four walls of your room, and your walls are covered on the top with what appears to be chicken wire. So you return late from your fun day in manhattan, you are really tired, you lay down on your bed and turn the light off... Except the ceiling is exposed wire so the hall lights keep your room moderately lit. It also means that you are open to the mysterious noises that come from the room next to you which includes some guy coughing all night, some gentleman speaking in some unfamiliar language on the cell phone in the morning, some guy snoring his face off, and a choir of different people in different rooms farting all night. The bathrooms were down the hall, and there are several per each floor so i never had to wait in line for an open bathroom. They were damp most of the time from the steam of other people's showers. 1) Unique experience, 2) See how room sizes are in Tokyo without have to fly there, 3) Kung-fu characters around...honestly most of them more towards the villain style, 4) You will feel like a hero whenever leaving the hotel alive, 5) You will be amazed whenever you cross other people like you staying at this place, 6) I took pictures of the room, aisles, […] etc. and had a lot of fun sharing with my friends - they could not believe there was such a place in NYC, 7) In the pass over week (prices were absurdly high) I saved at least $ 150.00 a night - just the savings bought me a nice iPhone 5, 8) the rooms in the 5th and 2nd floor are actually cleaning, 9) They clean the shared bathrooms early in the morning so when you go take shower they are actually fine; 10) they provide handy items such as paper sandals, toothbrush, etc. so even if you forget one of these items you will be fine. I honestly wasn't sure I would make it through the night, so I left. Believe me, you're getting what you're paying for: nothing spectacular. Unless you want to be cooped up like a chicken, sleeping with barbed wire over your head, you might want to find someone less horrific to stay.

If you stay there take ear plugs and a mattress - I hardly slept the room itself was clean, The floor that I was on was actually not bad. But that's where it stops! I was on the 5th floor and had to walk through four floors of stink and disrepair. One floor actually had a dirty kitty litter box and scroungy looking cat. Although the location was good, and we found parking, there were a few issues for us. We thought the bed was very hard. Also, the walls are very thin! Don't get me wrong, if you are a college student like me who needs a cheap place to stay in Manhattan, this place might be for you. I stayed there two nights. Each person has their own tiny little room amongst other rooms in almost office cubicle style, with chicken wire over the top so no one can get in to your room. It is only chicken wire, and there […] are probably at least 50 rooms on each floor so there is noise. The first night I woke up at 3 a.m. to someone nearby talking very loudly, the second night I woke up around the same time to someone kind of quietly listening to rap music, but then basically yelling some of the lyrics out. Some weird people stay there, but each room has a door and lock/key so you can leave and lock your room. My sheets had some small stains on them but the bed is comfortable. They provide towel, toothpaste and toothbrush I believe. If you are going to stay here I would encourage you to ask for a fifth floor room. It is by far the nicest and newest. More of a hostel than a hotel. "Rooms" are cubicals with chicken wire for a roof and only about a foot wider than the bet itself. Having said that, that rooms and bedding were clean. Shared bathroom wasn't great either.

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world , very dirty showers the first two floors of the hotel seem to be the living quarters of a number by vagrants and stank with poo boxes for animals left by the doors. You get what you pay for. I went expecting just what the reviews had said... and that is what I got. Do I regret it? No. I saved a ton of money. Would I do it again? No. Next time I will save up more money for the hotel.
