We went to Zakopane for our honeymoon and chose Dwor Karolowka as our hotel. The hotel is gorgeous and looks like a huge log cabin. Although it is not totally secluded, it is far enough from the city center that it is very quiet. The view and surroundings are absolutely gorgeous and at night it is completely dark and quiet, which we loved. The hotel itself was very rustic yet also somewhat fancy. Our room was very nice, with a big balcony and the interior was all wood (like a cabin). The best part of our stay was the staff. They were so polite and helpful and were very patient with my less-than-perfect Polish. Anytime we needed information about local attractions, etc. they were more than happy to assist us. Also, a free breakfast was included, which had a variety of delicious Polish food. Our overall experience was fantastic and we would love to go stay at Dwor Karolowka again. We truly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Zakopane.

Location.

Penzion Enrico has a water park and a spa tub. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas (surcharges apply). This ski inn offers a restaurant. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast. Additional amenities include a terrace, ski storage, and a garden. For a surcharge, guests receive transportation including a roundtrip airport shuttle (available on request) and an area shuttle within 150 km. Onsite parking is complimentary. This is a smoke-free property. A total renovation of this property was completed in 2012.

On holiday in Krakov for a wedding, we decided to spend a couple of nights in the Tatra mountains. Shunning the over touristy delights of Zakopane in... Poland we decided to cross the border into Slovakia and took pot luck on this Penzion in Zdiar. What a delightful find! The views were stunning, our room cheerful and comfortable and for an additional 5 euro per person we had our evening meals here too. Breakfast was hearty and plentiful with both hot and cold choices and some wonderful slavic pastries (not good for the waist line) The dinner was two courses and consisted of soup and a main course. The food was relatively simple but tasty and care had been taken in presentation. The dining area was charming with some lovely personal touches. Although our hostess spoke very little English she was attentive to our needs and provided excellent service throughout our stay. We felt that we got a real slice of Slovakia and would definitely return and recommend this guesthouse to others by Karen S from Guildford, Surrey on 08/11/11

Everything was overall ok, nice and comfortable rooms, welcoming family and cookies for quests on the table. We asked a map, they didn't have at first but in 5 min the family organized it. =) Few things that troubled us was that when we arrived (being very tired) we wanted to have a nap on the daytime and the kids were playing behind a door quite loud. […] And internet connection was missing quite often. Zdiar is also quite far from most of the things (except the white caves). Overall we are very pleased that we stayed there, the family who's place it is, is very nice and friendly and they cook amazingly good food!! =) Read more
