"Hip little hotel in central Hong Kong"
Very hip, central hotel in Hong Kong. I got upgraded to a suite. Only thing I can fault was the breakfast that was very average. And no restaurant or room service, so you have to eat out. But not really a problem as you're in Hong Kong and the suite had a little kitchenette if you wanted to microwave something. Not very well equipped though, so don't […] plan on making full meals. "A great surprise!"
Upon check in, we were told that we had been upgraded to a larger room because the hotel was full. Our room was a corner room.we had a small living area as you entered with minibar and coffee set-up. The bedroom was a bit small but nicely appointed and immaculate. Bath was nice as well. There is no restaurant at the hotel but they do serve a nice breakfast […] buffet every morning in an upstairs cafe area. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Having not been to the city before, when we arrived on the street of our hotel at 11pm, it looked like a rough area. When we woke up and the shops were open we were surprised at what a great location we had. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rooms are fine but ..."
Imagine my surprise when I flushed my toilet and sewer water appeared. While the hotel is conveniently located, it is located in a dark back street that is not for the unseasoned traveler. The rooms are fine, as a newly built property they would be rated higher without the bathroom issue. I checked out a day early, left behind a prepaid night and the […] front desk met my question about the toilet situation with indifference. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in a great location!"
I stayed at the Mercer for 3 nights with a friend. We were upgraded to a King Suite and it was super cute with a separate sitting area and kitchenette. I was impressed with the nice upgraded features in the room (2 tvs, a Rain shower, big bathroom, free mini fridge). The staff was friendly although we did not have much interaction with them. Great free […] breakfast. Very convenient location - 5 minute walk to the Sheung Wan subway stop, 10 minute walk to the Central subway stop, 15-20 minute walk to the cute shops/restaurants in SoHo or the Star Ferry. I would highly recommend this hotel for convenience and features. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We spent a little more to be upgraded to a suite and were glad we did. The suite on the 28th floor had an amazing view of the skyline and was extremely spacious and comfortable. A lot of people have posted that they were given this upgrade for free but we had to pay - not sure if their policy has changed or we just didnt negotiate hard enough. One thing […] I didn't like was that when we arrived they stated the only "regular" room left was on the lowest floor and that if we wanted a better experience we should pay to upgrade to a suite. That felt a bit like a bait and switch but frankly it wasn't that much more and the room truly was amazing. There's not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but it's a good location - right next to the Sheung Wan subway stop. The free breakfast served on the first floor is reasonable - pastries, toast, juice, cold cuts, yogurt, coffee. All in all I would stay here again. It's WAY better than Hotel LKF which seems to be the only other centrally located hotel in this price range. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A good base"
We were just in HK for one night, in transit from Shanghai to a very late flight back home the next day but wanted to do as much as possible in the 36 hours . Staff were really helpful, everything from directions to the Peak tram and good local noodle places to extra tea bags - having some free stock in the mini-bar was also a good start! Location […] was also really good - walking distance to Star Ferry and Tung Street antiques market and galleries and, when time came to leave, a a couple of blocks walk to the Metro and we were on track for the airport express. Some people might find the decor a bit edgy and the lack of full hotel restaurant services offputting but we really enjoyed it and would stay there again anytime. "Very New Hotel"
Normally when I stay in Hong Kong I stay in the Lan Kwai Fong @ Kai U Fong Hotel. This trip I thought I would try something new and updated. "Great, new hotel!"
Our 3 night stay at the Mercer in Hong Kong was great. It's within walking distance of Hollywood Street, Man Wo Temple, a metro line, and the IFC shopping center. The hotel is new and beautiful. The service is EXCELLENT! Complimentary breakfast each day is nice - cereal, pastries, fruit, meats & cheese. There's also a complimentary shuttel to and from […] the Hong Kong Metro station to catch the Airport Express train - which is super helpful. The surrounding area is a little bit off-putting initially ~ but it's right in line with the other areas of Hong Kong. Our room was on the tiny side, but for just us - it was perfect. We did see larger suites, so if you need more space - request one of those. The free internet is a nice perk. The work out facilities is nice - treadmills, step machines & free weights. The pool has just opened and it looks great (we didn't use it though - just didn't fit with our schedule). All in all - a great hotel, great bargain. Fit our needs exactly and we truly enjoyed our stay at the Mercer. I recommend it for couples & business travelers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Area - Ok hotel considering the price"
This hotel was very pricey. My assumption was that it would be fabulous to stay here. Much to my surprise, the entire reception was lukewarm at best. The hotel is a very tall structure with like 3 rooms in each floor in an area that is at the center of HK but the immediate surroundings were less than spectacular. Further, the staff was pretty thin, […] the receptionist was not very cordial. I would have expected a lot better for this kind of money! Would not go back to this hotel for sure. Cyberport Le Meridien though a little further down was much better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, but not excellent"
We spent a week staying at the Mercer Boutique Hotel - an affordable and well-located option on HK Island. Having arrived on Saturday evening from the UK, we were easily able to walk 10 mins from the airport express station to find the hotel and liked the cleanliness and comfort of the room straight away, although noted that the bathroom was separated […] from the main room by clear glass (blinds were installed to make it more private, although these got caught on the door handle - a right faff). We were not expecting a great night's sleep due to jetlag the first night, but found that it was quite noisy outside in the early hours with local bars then our neighbours deciding that 5.30am was a good time to start a party. When we spoke to the receptionist in the morning, he said that these people were leaving that day and if any more disturbances, they would sort out any problems - fortunately the rest of the stay was not so disrupted. Overall, we liked the hotel - the breakfast buffet gave enough variety, the complimentary minibar was a nice touch, and the room and communal areas were always cleaned to a high standard. Sheung Wan is convenient for the MTR, the Macau ferry terminal and the shops/restaurants of Central. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fantastic boutique hotel"
We stayed at the Mercer for a week in February. The hotel is in a great location just a few minutes walk from Sheung Wan MTR station and the Macau ferry. On check in we were delighted to find we'd been upgraded to a suite on the 21st floor. The room had a separate living/dining area with tv, full size fridge, kettle, coffee machine and microwave. Cups […] and plates were also provided but other than 2 teaspoons no cutlery. Beer, soft drinks, tea & coffee and snacks were replenished daily. The sleeping area had a really comfortable king size bed, tv, wardrobe with iron and ironing board and decent sized bathroom. Breakfast is included in the room rate with a choice of both Chinese and western food as well as cereal, fresh fruit and pastries. I found the staff on reception to be really helpful especially when we had to extend our stay due to sickness and the staff in the breakfast room also deserve a mention for being so pleasant and courteous. Comfortable room with a large bed, easy internet access. Oddly, the bathroom was screened off with a glass panel. Fine for me travelling alone, perhaps a bit odd if you were with someone, as nothing to hide your companion 'on the job'. Breakfast was good - continental, English & dim sum. Good coffee. "Mercer Boutique Hotel Hong Kong"
The Mercer is a Boutique Hotel located in the centre of the city on Hong Kong Island. It is very convenient and only one block away from a main MTR Train access point. It is reasonably priced by HK standards. The rooms are small, but modern and well kept. I upgraded to the suite for more space, which included a small fully stocked kitchen, dining area […] and small living room. The bathroom was modern with a full shower. The staff were very friendly and extremely courteous. Every time that I needed a taxi, they would go out to the main street, flag a cab and then bring it back to the hotel for my convenience. I was surprised by the excellent service for a boutique hotel. There is a fully stocked refrigerator and the wifi inside is complimentary. The Wifi is also free. A breakfast buffet is included as well. There is a small basic gym and a small swimming pool. The hotel was conveniently located, the rooms were modern and comfortable and the staff were very courteous and helpful. I recommend this hotel as an ideal choice in terms of cost and location. "Quality boutique hotel in the Sheung Wan District"
Delightful, new boutique hotel in the heart of the Sheung Wan District, so very convenient to the Central area and 2 minutes walk from Sheung Wan MTR station. Very helpful staff both at the front desk and the breakfast staff. Buffet breakfast has a wide choice, both hot and cold. This is a hotel on a narrow piece of land ( like all of this district), […] so it does not have the expanses of the larger hotel chains and the extra facilities they provide, but the rooms, and suites in particular have excellent facilities all top quality fittings and beautiful, comfortable beds and pillows, with top quality linen and bathroom toiletteries etc. In summary, quality, convenience and price. "Neighbourhood with character"
The hotel was excellent. Nice clean room with a comfortable bed. The free WiFi is great. So was the free mini bar which was restocked daily although I was quite modest in what I took from the fridge. The cost of providing this to guests must be fairly reasonable (not everyone is a drunk) but it's such a pleasant change to the overpriced mini bars of […] most hotel rooms. I didn't watch much TV but my impression was that it focused mainly on daily current affairs and business news. The hotel is small and "tall", but hey this is Hong Kong. "Stylish alternative to high-end chains"
I liked this hotel a lot. I was looking for somewhere within walking distance of Exchange Sq, and decided to try this boutiquey hotel in Sheung Wan, an unfamiliar but up-and-coming part of town.
