"Hotel with castle view and nice pool"
We stayed here while passing through the area so we arrived late and left early. The hotel and pool seemed nice during our brief visit. Our room had a small balcony with table and chairs and a great view of the castle. The hairdryer in the room did not work well and there was no free wifi but otherwise the hotel was okay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not at the seaside"
The best part of this hotel was the view. We could see the castle, church and through the trees, Lidl Grocery store. The pool was lovely with no towels for guests. It was shown on the internet to be seaside but was no where near the sea. We could go there by car but many without cars were stuck in a very small village to walk to restaurants at nigh […] t. "Nice simple hotel"
Beautiful views of Silves. Friendly multi lingual staff. Simple decor that is jaded in places and in need of some modernisation and "uplift". Pool was clean and furniture well maintained. Overall the hotel is clean and functional. Excellent position for lazy strolls around SilvesGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent value for money"
This is a good 3 * hotel. Although some aspects are a little tired looking and the bathroom was in need of renovation we found the service, cleanliness etc made for excellent value as breakfast was also included. The swimming pool was also appreciated although we would have liked a little more shade. We really liked Silves.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, nice pool and easy parking"
Room allocated on arrival did not match room facilities booked but room was changed on request.Genuine Expedia guest review
"lovely to visit this charming hotel again"
We have now stayed at this hotel many times. It may be a bit dated but it is very good value for money. We love the views. Staff friendly and helpful. Will be going back again in a few months.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
On the plus side, the hotel is clean has stunning views of the castle. On the down side it is looking a bit tired, especially the bedroom. The staff are impersonal and find it difficult to smile. The continental breakfast was basic, lacking imagination, and the coffee, from a machine, was atrocious. I am unlikely to stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Have stayed in this hotel many times. We love the atmosphere there. The bathrooms are a little tired looking, but there is always hot water. The best feature is the views across to the historic town of Silves.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"handy for town"
easy to find plenty of parking good views but needs updatingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"La cama más ruidosa del mundo"
Es la cama que hacia más ruido que he visto nunca, el aire acondicionado hacia un ruido insoportable y si abrías la ventana era como si durmieras en una autopista, el desayuno escaso y para guinda te cobran el wifi a 3€ la hora. Todo por el módico precio de 80€. Eso sí, la piscina muy bonita.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
chambre et salle de bain un peu viellotes qui demanderaient quelques rénovations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to explore Silves"
We spent one night here in March as part of a tour of the Algarve. Silves is a delightful area and this hotel is ideally situated to explore it and other adjacent towns from. We booked a low season offer deal and whilst there was some renovation work taking place this finished at 5pm and did not disturb us at all. The rooms are clean but basic. The bathroom seemed quite new. We had a balcony view across the old town. Service from the reception was good and breakfast was a very adequate self service buffet. Silves is only a small place so I guess they concentrate on tourists who are touring rather than staying for extended periods. This suited us fine. A decent 3 star hotel which we would recommend given our low season experience.

Stayed here with my twin brother for 4 nights last week. Lovely hotel although a little tired perhaps but good value for the cost. We are both nearly 70 and have stayed here before. It was a reminiscent visit really having relatives living near by who we have stayed with over the years. We found the transfer from and to Faro airport very easy. We used the local buses and train services from Silves each day to various locations on the Algarve and found the taxi fares to the railway station very reasonable. We were able to walk quite easy from the station back to the hotel or centre of Silves as it was all downhill. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were second to none. Great restaurants available nearby for our evening meals especially the Pont. Very econmical. Would like to visit again if possible

Do you remember me? I worked quite often in Portugal and stayed and presented in your hotel. I am from Scotland and loved your coffee ice cream! Loved your hotel and great staff. I wish you future success.

We stayed at this hotel while I was playing in a golf tournament at Pestana. It took us only 10 minutes or so to get to the club each day and Portimao was also within an easy 10 minute drive. The castle on the hill is a lovely view from the bedroom window each morning. Breakfast is included and is pretty good, but the coffee from the machine was really unpleasant - we ordered from reception rather....at 2 Euro! If you accept that this is a 3 star hotel, then you will enjoy your stay - if you prefer more room and luxury, you might want to look elsewhere. Our shower was not great (no bath) and our friends room was considerably smaller than ours. Reception was very helpful, especially in helping us to initially find our way to Pestana, If you stay here in winter as we did, and don't spend too much time at the hotel, then it makes a good base from which to see the area.

A late holiday with Easy Jet via Glasgow to Faro. Package deal. Weather - 19 - 21 degrees. Some rain, warm, great walking weather. Quite a few European tourists soaking up sunshine, locals thought it was cold. Excellent time to go, tremendous value in cafes/restaurants especially local use. Silves is a beautiful city to explore; castle, museum, streets, market and for visiting the hinterland and the coast.
"Great hotel, fantastic value, but overlooks a couple of essentials"

We booked our stay through a tour operator as part of a package, and as such couldn't be happier with the quality of accommodation for the price we paid. The pool is lovely (if a bit chilly!), the room had an amazing view (of the castle, cathedral, and out over verdant hills), and the air conditioning was incredibly welcome. However, this was let down by a lack of Wi-Fi (it's the twenty-first century!) and by the restaurant. The "can they do pasta" test was failed miserably, with soggy microwave spaghetti bolognese and burnt on the bottom cannelloni with gloopy bechamel that hadn't seen a grill. It's probably worth mentioning the echoing of chairs on the restaurant floor as well! Other than that,we had a lovely stay, and enjoyed lounging by the pool and sleeping in air conditioned, cool night air.
"Great budget hotel in a great location"

Just back from a few days in Sives walking the Algarve way. The Colina was a great base - 45 mins from the airport, short drive to the coast and the hills. Rooms are clean and tidy - very quiet at the back of the hotel with the view across to the main town. 5 mins to local bars and restaurants, great pool area and onsite parking. Clean towels and maid service everyday. Can't fault the buffet breakfast, good choice of cold items. Would be more than happy to stay here again.
"Basic hotel but clean and great location ."

Stayed here for eight days with my mum from 23rd sep 2014 . Great location and a nice basic hotel. As it's nearing end is season only one member of staff on duty so everything very slow . Weekends are overrun with coach loAds of Portuguese tourists visiting for the night so no chance of any food or drink or room around the pool. It's a great location for visiting the sites , good value for money too. I would say its great for short stay.

I stayed at this hotel with my mum so it was a perfect atmosphere in terms of the people who they generally have staying there. It is very quiet. I had a few issues because of my own personal preference. NO WIFI, this is unacceptable in this day and age where technology is key. The tv in the room was awful, 9 channels in total and only one sometimes was in english if you were lucky enough to catch it at the right time. The breakfast was continental only, i was here for 6 days so some sort of a hot item would have been very welcomed even if it was just eggs. One day i wanted to order what the half board guests were having for dinner and i was told it was only available to them. something i still don't understand seeing as i was going to pay full price for it. I brought a few drinks at the bar and dinner one day to which they didn't take immediate payment from me so i had to make sure i settled up the day before i checked out so that i didn't get caught short. The location wasn't for me, obviously not the hotels fault for my opinion on this. There was only a small town nearby but a good choice of food and drink places. good location if you are into walking and looking at the history. you definitely need to hire a car if you stay here otherwise you will spend a fortune on taxis. The hotel changes money for you at the reception, one day the exchange rate was fantastic and another day it wasn't so great. The staff are very helpful and speak good english. The hotel rooms need updating, they are a good size and have a nice view.
"Average hotel, needs modernising"

This hotel is the only one in Silves. It is very basic but a nice base for the price. Maid service every day with clean towels. We stayed b and b, breakfast which was continental but quite nice. The pool isnt huge but was plenty big enough for the amount of people using it. The water was cold but lovely once in. The hotel consisted of portugese, english and german visitors. Staff spoke very good English. The town was fairly quiet due to the time of year but we had a lovely stay. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to party goers but great for those wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday. Not sure I would revisit Silves as there are limited things to do however, we had a hire car so we did visit other local towns not to far from Silves.
