Nice place for one over night stay

Rooms were clean and comfortable, though the toilet was very loud when flushed. Especially pleased with the complimentary breakfast. While the selection was average the room was large and very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would have been nicer for us if hotel was closer to 7 Springs resort (20-25 mins. away), but could not beat the convience of being right off the turnpike.

Hard to find entrance due to construction at turnpike exit. Signs were visible, but ended up coming in an odd way. Breakfast was limited. But for my purpose, it was fine. Room was clean, neat, and spacious.

"A little gem"
We were just looking for a place to stop along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, but this Holiday Inn Express proved to be an unexpected pleasure. It was sparkling clean, the location was good (just a little down the road from the turnpike exit), check-in was extra-friendly, and it had so many of the "extras"--microwave, fridge, wi-fi, mouthwash, in-room, […] coffee-maker, great breakfast, super-comfortable beds--that it felt much more expensive than it was. Hotel is very clean. Staff is very pleasant. Bring what you need with you. There are no convenient stores in the area. So if you need some supplies you better be able to get it at the family dollar or Giant Eagle grocery store. Restaurant selection is also slim. Good value for your money, new property, so very clean and well kept. They offer free wifi but strength of the signal is very poor. The one downside for every room is the bathroom exhaust fan, it sounds like a plane engine and turns on whenever the light is used. In addition, the fan does a poor job, the mirror will fog up regardless of the fan and […] even if the bathroom door is open. Please replace these fans! "Need for an easy FIX..."
Room was not ready at check-in (3:30pm), checked in but phone not operational, then upgraded us to a jacuzzi room but with a smaller bed (queeen), then the fan in the bathroomn was deafening!! and provided no exhaust of hot air after shower. all that noice and no ventilation. All brought to attention of hotel staff...noise of fan seems to be a continual […] problem for them - as reported by hotel staff. It is really noisey!! These are simple fixes - but someone needs to want to make the changes. One more thing - the veiw out the back COULD BE beautiful - rolling hills and Lake Donegal, but the property adjacent to the hotel is loaded with construction equipment - SAD. "Brand new - still has that new hotel smell"
The hotel was overall pretty great, brand new everything and it was as clean as could be and a nice surrounding area. right off 76. about an hour to pittsburgh. I had a couple small problems. 1, there were no black out curtains that I could shut. There was basically only a white shear curtain that did nothing to block the sunlight in the morning. Also, I was put in a room that was connected with a door to the room next to mine. the problem was that there was a gap of at least an inch or two between the floor and the bottom of the door. This allowed us to hear everything that went on in the room next door and of course the people next door were a couple that was drunk and arguing about there relationship til 1am lol. "Holiday Inn Express in Donegal opened 7/2011"
This is a very nice hotel with a rustic, cabin like decor. You could tell it was a new hotel and I asked when they had opened. The lady at the desk was pleasant both when we checked in and out. The room was nice and clean and breakfast was included. We had a nice breakfast that included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits. They […] had the normal cereal, yogurt, and bagels and you could also make pancakes. They had fruit and coffee available in the evening as well. My only disappointment was the hot tub. After traveling all week I would have preferred it a little hotter. Although, the bigger problem was that when you sat on the bench around the edge, the water only came up to my middle back (I'm 5'7") and the jets were at butt level. I don't usually take the time to get in the hot tub so maybe this is normal. I just wanted to work out some of the tension in my upper back and neck and it didn't really work for that. We stayed at this hotel to attend a family funeral. We chose the hotel based on glowing reviews on Hotels.com and on the Holiday Inn web site, in addition to our prior experiences with other Holiday Inn Express properties. Our experience didn't track with any of these. We arrived at the hotel around 10 p.m. the first evening. There were no towels in […] the bathroom. The Front Desk did bring some, but not promptly. Because we were there for family, not business, we didn't leave the room until nearly 11 a.m. When we returned, there had been no housekeeping. When we called the Front Desk we were informed that, because we had left after 9 a.m., we had missed our window for Housekeeping. They did give us fresh towels, but that was it, and I had to go to the Front Desk for those. That is a first for me, and I have had "100 Room Night" years. Yes, the hotel is a new and attractive property. Yes, the "Front Office" staff is friendly and mostly caring, but with a Housekeeping policy like that we experienced, I predict that this property will not remain a Holiday Inn for long, if it remains in business. "Finding Shelter in the storm"
This hotel was great starting with the people that work there. The young lady that checked us in on Friday night during the storm storm was excellent! The room was great because it was updated and clean. I use to work for Marriott so I inspect the room before I get settled. Oh my GOSH - this hotel is AWESOME. We were a ten-minute or so drive from Seven Springs (where we couldn't afford to stay) and around the hotel were some great little shops and places to eat. The hotel is VERY clean - the people at the desk were so helpful and our room was wonderfully comfortable. We were able to enjoy the hot tub and pool on our own […] (we stayed during the week after Christmas) and the hot breakfast was fantastic. I would stay here again in a heartbeat - they designed it to look 'rustic' with a black bear theme in all the lighting and natural wood made it very relaxing.
