Hotel Bright - New Delhi

I stayed at this hotel after a two week long stay in Nepal, so Hotel Bright looked good. It is located very conveniently. The entrance to the hotel is schizophrenic (has two different personalities). First I was offered a room without a window. I complained, and I got a room with a window - although it does not really matter after all. Room was clean, […] had a nice TV with a variety of channels. AC worked well and quietly. Of course, the drain in the shower cabin was at the highest spot on the floor ..., where else. For $60/night or so, I can get a better room in 95% of the USA. I missed a lobby/restaurant where I could hang out and meet other travelers and chat about our experiences - there is no opportunity to meet anybody but the very polite and friendly staff. Read more

I had mixed feelings about this hotel for the first night but after staying at the hotel for several nights, I can say that it's a very good hotel. The location is in Connaught place, which is good for shopping and eating. It's also located close to the delhi metro station which is very convenient. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is that going up the stairs to find the lobby is not what you'd expect due to a property dispute or something. We were very annoyed with the service of this hotel because we felt like they were trying to make commission off of us instead of being helpful with travel arrangements. When we asked them to help us book train tickets to the Taj Mahal, they sent us to a travel agent who tried to up-sell us on a $600 package. Then when we asked the same man at the front […] desk how much a cab should cost to the airport, he said 850 rupees - when we had read online that it would be much less. When my boyfriend asked a different hotel staff person, he said it would be no more than 450 rupees. We think the shady hotel staffer was wanting to book us a private car with his travel agent company so that he could get a kick-back (common in India). We stayed at seven different hotels throughout India during our time there, and this was the ONLY one where we felt like the hotel was not trying to protect us. In a country where prices are negotiable and tourists are over-charged, it was helpful at the other hotels to ask the staff how much a tuk-tuk or cab ride should be so that we could use that info to negotiate. THIS HOTEL WAS NOT LIKE THAT. They were shady and not protective of us. Do not stay at this hotel. Find one that will help you and not try to send you to their buddies to make $ off of you. The room was spacious and very pleasant. The service good, One problem was that the wake up call was about 15 minutes late. Another problem was that there was construction going on either in the hotel or nearby and the electricity kept cutting out. That was a little disconcerting. A very unimposing entrance leads to a stairway up to an area which it has to be said is extremely uninviting, however once through the door of the Bright things change. The reception is clean, modern and well decorated and the staff helpful. Our room which was off the reception was very well decorated, modern, clean and with good bathroom facilities […] and double glazed to keep out the Delhi noise and a comfortable bed with spotless linen. There are no dining facilities in the hotel but an excellent alternative - breakfast in bed. You order your breakfast the night before, give a time and it arrives in your room. CPという場所に重点を置き、これまで宿泊したことの無かったこのホテルを選びました。 ネットで掲示されている写真通りとは思っていませんでしたが、それでも期待外れでした。外からフロントへ繋がる階段を上がった場所は、まったく内装がされておらず「ゲットー」状態でした。部屋の壁紙はヨーロッパ調で良かったのですが、「窓」に掛けられていたカーテンを開けると、隣の部屋が丸見えでした。また、レストランは無く、朝食はルームサービス（宿泊料に含まれている）のみで、種類も少ないです。水１Lは1泊1本のみ無料サービスですが、2本目はマーケットの3倍の料金を請求されます。

Die Strasse/Umgebung vor dem Hotel war gerade im Umbau (keine Ahnung ob das ein Dauerzustand ist). Das Hotel ist klein (Anzahl Zimmer und Platz) und sauber. Es gibt kein Restaurant oder Fruehstuecksraum, das Fruehstueck wird ins Zimmer gebracht.
