"Excellent Hotel;"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This is a real gem. Quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of many of the sites. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The furnishings in the lobby, restaurant and the rooms give the hotel a nice family feeling. Would stay there again. Can be a little hard to find.

"Charming!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 29, 2012
Hard to believe that there's a better place to stay if you want to get a real "feel" for Bruges. It's an easy 2 km drive to the rail station where you can park all day for 3,5 Euros and get a free bus to the middle of town. Our room was superb, with every convenience, and the owner was pleased to honor a couple of special requests. The breakfast was very special with fresh bread and pastries, meats, cheese, fruit, choice of juices, smoked salmon, and more. This must be the best deal for a travelling couple and the price includes WIFI, parking, and the grand breakfast.

"stay at E tap"
Would have been helpful to have place to put suitcase to retrieve clothing.
Very close to Brugge train station and helpful staff!
"Great for train travel"
We had a very early morning train, so this hotel was ideal because it is steps from the train station--just get out of bed and roll to the train. Very clean.

"Very small, Very Nice"
For location in Bruges, it's hard to beat this place. If you arrive by bus or train you're pretty much at the hotel upon arrival; come out the front door, walk up the steps to your right and you're home. Also, to get into the section of Bruges people come to see, all you've got to do is cross the street. The staff is cordial and professional, the building […] itself new, tastefully done both inside and out. Rooms are small, but very clean, modern and efficiently designed and can be had for very reasonable prices, even cheap when compared to most places you'll find within Bruges' center, where you'll almost certainly pay more without getting more in size or comfort. Breakfast is offered for a surcharge, and looks to be overpriced for what it is. Internet is also a surcharge and is fairly expensive considering the fact that you can walk across the plaza to the train station and grab a signal for free. Read more
"Budget hotel at train station"
Very convenient for train travelers since the hotel is right around the corner when you exit the train station. However, this is a budget hotel...small but clean room, uncomfortable bed. Probably about a 30 min. walk to the center of Bruges...you're better off taking the easy 5-10 min bus ride to the center (1.10 Euro each way). There is also a bike […] rental shop just outside the train station that we used on a weekday. Nice bikes that made it much easier to get from the hotel into town. There is a nice bike path from Bruges to the town of Damme...nice ride along the Damme Canal past several windmills for those who want to explore beyond the city. Read more
"Awesome hotel for price!"
Convienently located right next to the train station! A short walk to the sweet city. Great customer service and impeccably clean! I would definitely stay here again and whole heartedly recommend!!!

"Comfortable Hotel, Great Location"
This hotel is right next to the train station, and a ten minute walk from downtown Brugge. The staff is multilingual and check-in went smoothly. The room had one twin bed with a single bunk up top. The shower is open to the room and doesn't offer much privacy, but this didn't really bother me since the glass was smoked. The decor and lighting were fairly […] hip, and the hotel is in excellent condition. There is a breakfast which costs about seven euros, however you can find cheaper options at the train station. There is also a fantastic restaurant near the hotel where you can sit-in or get food for take-out. I would stay here again in a heartbeat for the convenience; however for those looking for a more authentic visit they may want to stay in central Brugge. Read more
"Great location"
This hotel is perfectly located for catching the train. It is also a fairly easy walking trip into the old part of town. There is a restaurant just down the stairs from the hotel. The room is simple, but works for two people and the price can't be beat.
"Etap Brugges"
Comfortable and clean, near the train station. Helpful staff. Only complaint is lack of security if you need to leave your bags after check out. The staff let people go in the room and get their bags unsupervised and with no claim checks.
"Great deal in an expensive city"
Booked this room at the last minute. Kind of reminds me of a really nice hostel. The rooms are on the small side (dorm like), but they are in practically brand new condition. I booked the 3 person room. Definitely sleeps 3, but would have been crowded if we had done anything but sleep. The rooms are very modern, and the shower is pretty cool. Not much […] privacy between the shower and the sleeping quarters. The show is in the same room, and it is practically see through glass. The hotel location is only about a 10 minute walk to the old town square. Very nice town to visit. The hotel was kind of difficult to find. Luckily, we spotted the van on the parking garage the has an arrow pointing down to the garage. The hotel is to the left of the train station, and rests above the large parking garage. The hotel didn't show up on my GPS, nor did the address. Just look for the train station, and you'll find it ok. I would recommend this to friends with no kids. Nice but crowded. Read more
"good price, good location"
Great price. Right next to the train station. You can park there for EUR2.50 a day. It is an easy 15 minute walk to the historic district. And the walk is lovely too.
"Perfectly acceptable budget hotel"
Very clean, modern, budget friendly Next door to train station and earlier checkin than most hotels - 12:00 means you can get rid of the bags quickly and go right into the city center in a 12-15 walk. Breakfast mediocre Immediate area is clean, but not much to see or do
"Excellent budget hotel in Brugge"
Brugge is a wonderful place to visit, but it is not cheap! This hotel is a welcome exception to the high prices of Brugge. Our room was clean and comfortable. Yes, it is quite small, but completely manageable for two people. We were actually able to reserve a 3 person room for the same rate (one double bed and a bunk on top) and used the extra bunk […] to store our luggage. The location was great-- right next to the train station, yet we could barely hear any noise-- a quick and scenic walk into the city center. Highly recommended. Read more
"At train station"
This hotel is literally right next door to the train station. For that alone, it is convenient. It's only a short walk into Bruges, but if you are wanting to stay within the city, look elsewhere. Not knowing, I chose this hotel. Next time, I'll find one more within the central area of Bruges (it only became an issue late at night walking back alone […] to the hotel, nothing happened, but being alone in a foreign city). It is either brand new or just remodeled. Yes, it's very "IKEAish!" So if you're looking for a quick in and out of Bruges, this is definitely it! Read more
"Cheap and cheerful"
This hotel is perfect for the no-frills traveler. You get a clean, basic room, friendly staff and a very convenient location. Everything worked as expected, the room was in great condition and looked like an Ikea showroom display. I used the computer in the lobby which is free for guest use, and it worked fine for my purposes of quick emails and looking […] up times for trains and attractions. Probably took about 15 mins to walk to the center of town and the hotel is literally next to the train station (1 minute walk). I would certainly stay here again and wished the other hotels on my trip were as nice for the price. Read more
"Good location and fast wifi"
This hotel was a bit special. The rooms are really small. And the shower is actually in the same room as the living/bed room. My girlfriend didn't feel comfortable taking a shower while I was in the room. The sink is also located in the same room. The toilet was in a separate room though, but the door to the toilet didn't go all the way down. There […] was a 10 cm gap on the bottom of the door. This room should only be used by couples or very close friends then as it can get very intimate in various ways =) The wifi worked flawlessly and was also fast. The hotel is located right outside of the city gates. Walking to the city centre takes about 15-20 minutes. There is also a free bus ride from the parking garage if you have a parking ticket. The garage cost only 3.5 € per day. Read more
"Close to the main train station"
We had been staying with the ACCOR Hotels for a few years now and we know of what to expect.Very satisfied with our two nights stay at Etap Brugge Centum Station.

"close to railway station"
Enjoyed my stay, room was small but big enough for 2. It was about 10 minute walking distance to the main town square, or a local bus takes 5 minutes. No nice eating places close, but the town had plenty. I would stay there again. BRUGGE is a beautiful place, wonderful atmosphere about it, food is fantastic and local people are great. overall I had […] a lovely time, I will return one day. Read more
"good value"
The staff was nice and helpful. The location was excellent close to station and some shops such as supermarket nearby. The room was quite small but tidy and clean ,can't expect much as i didn't pay much for the room. The coolest thing was the shower would change color when you chose different temperature of water. Will stay here again for next time […] . Read more

"Good stay all round"
Would echo previous comments about the Etap - 10 minute walk to city centre, conveniently placed next to train station; very helpful reception staff, room spotlessly clean and less basic than the hotel's Accor stablemate Formule 1. One thing to say is that the parking charge in the car park outside has now gone up to €3.50 a day - still reasonable, […] though. Read more

"muy buen hotel- excellent hotel"
This hotel was right next to the train station which made it convenient. It was very clean and confortable, and only a few minutes walk to the center of the town. Reall recommend this for anyone comming to Brugge
"Etap Brugge Central Station"
Excellent value for money, modern, clean with a good location, close to the bus, railway station and a short walk to the city centre.Don't expect the Ritz but if you are looking for a place to rest your head in a good location and don't want to pay the earth, this hotel could be good for you.
"Etap Brugge"
Comfortable room. Good location. 15 mins to city centre. Recommended.
"Hotel Etap"
Very well located in the main station of Brugge, a few blocks from center. The room is small so if you are touring europe it' s not for you. Well recommended for people that goes for the day only.
"Good value, comfortable and basic"
A clean, comfortable and basic place to stay that is an easy 20 minutes walk way from the centre of Bruges. The hotel is based 2 minutes from the train station and forms part of a modern apartment block.

"Etap Bruges - decent chain hotel"
Etap hotels offer clean pleasant rooms for cheap prices. Beds are comfy. There is free WiFi and TV with many channels from different European countries. There are cool colour changing LEDs in the shower. There's a thermostat in the room so you can adjust the heating/air-con to your taste. It's just good. The bathroom situation is interesting though. […] Our shower and sink were directly in our bedroom, with the toilet in a small cubicle. This meant showering in full view of your roommate. This is fine for a couple like us, but would not be suitable for platonic friends or families with teenage children who want some privacy. No idea if twin or family rooms are fitted with a more suitable bathroom arrangement. Read more
"Great"
No probs...stayed over 2 months and not a complaint on any account.
"Great...as ever"
Great no problems, pleasent staff, very content.
"Quirky, far from spacious, but good value"
This hotel is just outside Bruges, next to the station and about 20 minutes walk from the central shopping and entertainment area. This location is not ideal, but at least it avoids the need for a taxi for most of us. The rooms are very small, but this will not be a priority for everyone. I was passing through with my wife and we had a lot of luggage. […] The space was sufficient, but it's not a comfortable place to sit. Good value if all you need is a bed and washing facilities. "ETAP Bruges perfect for P&O overnight"
This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel. The rooms are pretty spartan in a clean modern way and the beds are "firm" but they have all you need (except a kettle), but there's a hot drink machine in the foyer. Definately not the place to be if you're trying to impress but if you're on the North Sea Ferrys short trip it's a perfect location […] as the bus drop off/pick up is right outside and the hotel has a secure luggage room so you can leave your stuff on arrival and on the day of departure. If you have a car the cheapest parking in Bruges (e2.5 a day) is also right outside. Read more
"Etap Bruges"
Excellent hotel. Really good value. Stayed for 3 nights. Hotel is a stones throw from the station - but very little noise from station (none at all with window closed). Walk from Hotel to Markt is 10mins - but you walk through most of the other interesting parts of Bruges on the way, making the location appx 3 mins from things to see/do i Bruges! Bed […] was very comfy. Room is designed to maximise space perfectly. Breakfast (was cheap for a hotel breakfast) was good enough. (I have certainly paid more for worse, at "better" hotels). Real doulbe bed (not too singles pushed together). Good array of TV channels if you want to watch tv. Carrefour "Grocery" store just round corner from Hotel (Dec 2011) Generally cannot speak highly enough of the hotel in every aspect. Only thing the rooms dont have that some hotels do is a fridge. "convenient location"
the hotel was basic. however the location to car parking, train, and city centre compensates for this.
"Week 4 still brill"
Clean very pleasent staff, if you have a problem with this hotel, then you have a problem! TA
"Etap, small imperfectly formed base for Bruges!"
Bizarre room layout, with the only sink in the middle of the bedroom, and not much room for 2.Reminded us of camping in a ridge tent, albeit with more headroom. Well situated, quiet and with convenient parking.Carrefour Express is handy, and the town centre is an easy walk.A beautiful medieval town with lots to do,but be careful, its really expensive! Moules […] frites 24 euro! We stopped in Calais on the way home for an affordable meal, moules frites 10 euros. All things considered the Etap was a good, if quirky base for a long w/e visiting Bruges. The highlight has to be the Beerwall bar. Read more

"Cheap and cheerfull"
Great hotel for the budget traveller. Close to the city centre and the local attractions. The only down side is it very close to the train station, the rear rooms overlook the station and tracks. My advice is to take some earplugs. Overall spot on.
"Brill as always"
Not free WIFI! Otherwise brill, pleasent helpfull staff, highly recommended.

"Etap hotel in brugge"
Excelent op tion to visit by walking, brugge. Better in couples.
"Etap hotel in Bruges - Great value"
This is the ultimate convenience hotel - smack bang next to the train station (but no train noise in the bedroom) and only a 15 mins (pleasant) walk to the city centre. You won't want to spend much time in the room itself - theyre pretty small - but they provide everything you need and are very comfortable. Be warned though - the shower unit is in the […] main room and the toilet, although contained in its own partioned 'room' is not really all that separate. If you dont know the person youre sharing with well before you stay you willl by the end! Bed was extremely comfy and the hotel was surprisingly quiet at night. Make sure you find, and display, a 'room engaged' sign if you plan to sleep past 10am - the cleaners are keen to get started. All in all a great bargain and will definitely use again if I re-visit Bruges. Read more
