Nice new hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. However, the pool and hot tub were not. We stayed three nights and the hot tub was cloudy and had various clogs of hair floating on the surface. In our three night stay the tub was not cleaned! Disgusting!

I recently spent one night at the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/US Capitol while in DC for an event. I found the hotel to be very clean, comfortable, and well-kept with modern amenities. Staff was professional and helpful. It's also in a great location right near a Metro stop (red line) which was very helpful for going back and forth to the airport, […] etc. Overall a nice experience and I have no complaints. Very nice clean new hotel. big rooms comfi beds. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The resturant serves nice dinner menu and good breakfast. About 10min drive to the Mall.

Excellent service and very comfortable beds. Our daughter had brought at least 6 stuffed animals and our cleaning person very attentively displayed the animals on both beds after she made them. That is the attention to detail that would make us return. Love the complimentary beverages in lobby; they even had my favorite green tea. Downside was pool […] was very cold and our bathroom fixtures appeared to be very poor quality. We had to get maintenance to adjust the bathtub to shower lever because water did not fully go to shower head. Also, slow draining tub which was also addressed but not fully fixed. This is a brand new hotel so I have to think construction materials not the highest quality. Also really did not like that the light switch to bathroom is outside. Very frustrating when you repeatedly have to go back out to turn on light. But overall very satisfied. Great to be near the Harris Teeter grocery store! Read more

Extremely surprised how much I enjoyed this hotel. Every single staff member was pleasant and helpful from check in to check out. For two women traveling with three young children, 9, 7, & 6, we felt very safe and taken care of at this hotel. Noise was not a problem, the walk to the Metro was around the block, and the grocery store, CVS, Starbucks, […] and McDonalds were pleasantly close. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, we had enough space for the five of us & the kids loved the pool. My only minor complaint is the light for the bathroom is not in the bathroom it is an awkard place. That is it! Our train home was later in the day so they were accommodating enough to give us a later check out with no problem. I would definitely stay there again, with or without kids. Read more

Great hotel, location is not the best since it is father from the main attractions of DC. However the surrounding area is clean, new, and in development. About 1-2 miles farther out is bit unsafe. New Hotel. Clean and Nice. The surrounding area is not as nice. Felt uncomfortable walking at night. The fact that the lobby door is locked after certain hours explains it all. Metro stop is one block away but again, if you are walking around at night, should use a cab. The gym is nice and cute. The room was very clean and attractive and the neighborhood was very safe and conveniently located. Some minor annoyances: I missed having a magnifying makeup mirror; the building's plumbing system was noisy; the supposedly adjustable mattresses really didn't adjust and were hard.

This is the worst possible location, there are two night clubs just below the hotel, and they are uber noisy, everything good I had to say about this hotel diminished when I struggled sleeping while hardcore rap music played till 4AM...

This hotel is a very nice property, with an accomodating staff. However, be prepared to go to other parts of the city to find better dining options, and finding a cab outside the in the evenings can be a challenge....it was both nights for us, in spite of a taxi stand outside the door.

We went to DC for the long weekend. This hotel was about a mile from Capitol Hill. One the ride from the airport we noticed we were not in the greatest area. The staff was friendly enough but we called down to the front desk several times and no one answered. The beds were also pretty uncomfortable. Right next door to the hotel is a night club. If you want to go to sleep before 2:30 AM, then request a room on the back side of the hotel. There is a hard rock venue across the street from the hotel and the bass thumped in our room until 2:30 AM.

The hotel itself is great. It's clean and well maintained. Shower was nice, beds were comfortable. The room even had a fridge and microwave which I feel is uncommon. I found the valet/bellboy staff aggressive and pushy when it came to my husband sitting in the car at the curb while I went in to check in (which took longer than usual because my reservation […] was not confirmed when I checked in). We needed to take our bags to our room so we could return the car to the rental place and every time they saw me they kept asking "are you done are you done" which I found uninviting. The location is very convenient to the metro (literally about a 2 minute walk to the station). I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Read more

The hotel was pretty good for the price. We picked it as it was in the middle of everything we wanted to do that weekend. The staff was awesome and put up with my friends and me. Great hotel with comfortable rooms. Awesome indoor pool that opens til 10pm and 24hr gym. Service was great, friendly staff. Was told that I can either valet park or park on streets after 6pm overnight, but would have to feed meter at 7am the next morning. Well, I decided to save money and park on street at one of the meters. Low and behold, I got a […] parking ticket the following morning.. but it s still ten dollars cheaper than valet parking at the hotel!! Location in a developing area, so not many resturants nearby that open late. Doesn't seem save to walk around late at night. I saw many homeless people walking around at all times. Short and easy drive to chinatown/verizon center, US capitol and National Mall. Overall, a great hotel but the location makes it less than desireable. The desk staff seemed annoyed to have to check us in. (It was around midnight and we were dressed in jeans and t-shirts, not business clothes). When we got to the room, the temperature on the thermostat was 80, a little warm for our liking. We turned the a/c down to 68 and it was around 72 when we got up. The beds have adjustable firmness settings from […] soft (rock hard) to firm (harder than a rock). The shower has very low water pressure, enough to get the job done. The next morning we were dressed much nicer and were met with a warm welcome by the day staff and valets. The hotel is in a decent neighborhood on one side and pretty gruff on the other. Be mindfull of the daily parking fee, not included in the room price. It is mentioned before check-out on here. Nice restaurant on grounds (pricey). Hotel is within walking distance of the metro and Union Station. I advise against driving anywhere that you do not have to. Parking in DC is high and traffic is often dense. Also, cleaning staff and maintenance staff were very friendly and curtious. Read more

I enjoyed the hotel and the location but the service and restaurant did not impress me. They did not specify parking prices vice valet that only cost me some money and the restaurant did not properly cook my food. That was not a big deal until they made me pay for it. They also made up a price for wine that was not on the wine list.

This hotel looks and feels brand new. This is great in many ways (the rooms feel even cleaner, with the latest appliances and fixtures) and less great in others (the staff feels like they're still learning the ropes). It does feel like a rookie staff in that they felt a little disorganized, but you can forgive a lot if the crew is customer-focused. I encountered no serious difficulties. The location is great if you plan to take the Metro into town, but there is a popular nightclub just down the street. Even 10 floors up, you could tell where the party was on a Saturday night. After a long day of sightseeing, I had no problem falling asleep, but light sleepers may want to pack earplugs for weekend stays. There is a drugstore and some basic fast food in the neighborhood in case you need some essentials or a quick bite. I'll stay here again next time I come through DC. Keep up the good work. Read more

The hotel is within a block of the Metro and has a Capital Bikeshare station just around the corner. We primarily used the Bikeshare while we stayed there. The hotel is around 3/4th of a mile from Union Station which puts you within a few blocks of the bike friendly Mall, Pennsylvania Avenue or E Street. 1st & 2nd are both good bikeing streets to get […] to Union Station. Beyond a great location to public transportation, we found the hotel very comfortable and well maintained. It has a nice outdoor patio that had music playing one of the nights we were there. The neighborhood seems to be up and coming with young adults in a majority. There is a nightclub across the street which made for interesting people watching but did not bother us in the least.
