Not your standard hotel, but the rooms wwere huge !!! and well furnished. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the train station and is located near the Oslo bohemian area with many restaurants and shops

We were stunned at the huge, furnished, pristine apartment (with a loft!) in a great location. Best/most secure free WiFi on our entire 3 wk trip too. No working air conditioning , no laundry service.as advertised....tried to use it but was always told too busy. Worst problem was the street noise from a nearby club....incredibly loud until 2-3 in the morning...had to leave windows open because no A/C. There was construction going on 5 feet from our window which had to be open as the room was extemely hot. No alarm clock, phone, wash cloths or towel bars. The girl in the office was very nice and provided us with a hair dryer. You had to walk through an alleyway with a big hole in the concrete, past the trash cans to reach our room. Close to a nice, hipster district with cafes, bars, and random rock n roll. Drug dealers on the bridge outside, but they are not a problem at all. You will likely want to take the tram into Oslo Center, though you could walk. The place is new, clean, and pleasant enough. Having a full kitchen is especially nice since eating out in Oslo always costs […] a small fortune. The owners don't seem to understand how to make things comfortable. The places are minimally furnished. No T.V. No shampoo or soap. They also will not do anything in your room unless you ask them to specifically. This includes taking out the trash, changing towels, or replacing a leaking kettle. After our trash was overflowing, we went to ask about taking it out. We were told you have to request such services on a green card. No one ever told us about green cards at check-in and there did not seem to be any green cards anywhere in our place. This is the sort of quirky stuff you will likely encounter. My main comment is: finish furnishing the place and take care of your guests! Finally, the office is not tended to at all times like a regular hotel. Call ahead and make sure someone will be there to let you in when you arrive. Good place, but incomplete. Judging from other comments here, it seems to have been incomplete for some time. I wonder how long before someone will get the hint. Read more

It is an unfinished apartment building. The apartments are spacious but very poorly decorated. Once workers stop coming in and out of the building, the problem of dirt and dust in the common areas should be resolved. OK if you know what you are getting into. Parking is a real problem.

The staff is super friendly and overall we liked our stay. The location is in an artsy neighborhood with cafe's and pubs. The tram line makes it easy to get anywhere in Oslo. We liked the modern feel of the apartments. (our group had 3) but in each case there were lapses in services. The internet was poor at best. Only one of the apartments had a coffee […] pot and the floors were sticky. We received one dirty towel and one of the beds did not have clean sheets. So, if you really need your morning coffee in your cool apartment bring your own filter set up and be prepared for the cheapest ikea mattress on the beds. Otherwise the Chateau is great. Read more

Besides the fact that for the smallest apartments they rent I had to go down to room U03 (part of the way looked like a bunker) the apartment itself was fantastic. Even with view to the river that passes by the building. Only inconvenience: There wasn't much room around the bed. The apartment itseld however was rather big.

We stayed at the 2 bedroom apartment. We got there at 3 ish after a 25 minute walk from the train station (Check-in time starts at 2 PM and check-out time is 11 AM) and rung the bell (dial 000), went to the office and got the codes on a business card. Other than that it was meticulous, and there was a nice fairly large flat screen TV with channels (but we only turned it on for a few minutes). There is also free wifi. Really great apartment. Only con: the bed, too small for a 6'4" guy to lie straight, so I laid diagonally. It is in a great location and great value for Oslo. Great to have cooking facilities as eating in Oslo is very expensive! The appartment is nicely decorated with ikea furniture. The pillows were not great. We used the free laundry. Just be sure to ask where it is. There is free parking on the street (free parking is rare) however it is much sort […] after. Staff tried their bedtime but the place was really shoddy...my email in advance adding for separate beds for my kids was ignored;ditto type of room. My room as fine for single occupancy. The bed only just fit into narrow bedroom so it was awkward to get into and could only be done over te foot of the bed Rooms where hot but then Oslo was enjoying very hot days. By Norway standards this apartment was rellatively well priced and well located (walking distance to downtown Oslo) but we would not stay again. We stayed in a one bed apartment in this complex that is still under development. The throughfares and hallways etc are still seeing renovation but that didn't affect the stay at all. The apartment itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. The reason for the five star rating is the price - our apartment was barely more than we would have paid for […] hostel dorms (single sex so we'd have been split up). It really is a bargain.
