the hotel's hall and stairway carpets were filthy....they advertised computer connections that were not available.....the young female desk clerk was rude and totally unaccomadating....willl never go back or recommend

If we hadn't spent extra money on this room (anticipating a nice one) I would have been pleased with this room. The room was perfectly nice, but was not up to par with other European hotels we stayed in and spent far less for. I think if you are visiting Rome this may just be the norm. Hotel is very close to the Vatican City 5 minutes walking), Chaffour Express Super Market (Exiting to the left, just a couple feet walking), and is in front of the bus stop. They do not have an elevator, but a lady of the hotel brought our luggage to our room. The same happened when we left the hotel. We voluntary gave a tip. I did not like they changed […] the sheets when asked the first time. I guess they do it every four days and seemed did not change the blanket for the whole stay of 18 days. The bathroom floor seemed to be cleaned every third day. They did not leave enough shampoos and had to ask most of the time for shampoos for all of us (4). Rooms do not have fridges and they were nice to us and gave us ice when asked. . Breakfast buffet is good, but exactly the same food every single day turned it to hate it. Staff very helpful and nice, two spoke English and one Spanish fluently. Bad experience when the receptionist S called an unauthorized taxi cab to take us to the airport. He didn't have a taxi meter and a permit, He overcharged us for taking us to the airport. When confronted over the phone she was loud and not polite. After having a bag stolen on the railway platform and spending time at the police station in another section of Rome, we were comforted by the warm welcome at our hotel. It's not fancy, but the air conditioner worked well, the desk staff knew English and laughed at my husband's jokes and the breakfast was more than adequate. I think I probably had one of the lower end rooms, but it was still a little depressing. There was only one outlet in the room and the furniture seemed to date from the 1970s. Still, the bathroom was clean and very serviceable. And the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

New Pope. Fresh chance to see him in action. And he delivered. I was staying at the San Pietro only 800 meters away. I mean close. We sipped chianti on the balcony and looked at St. Peters dome in the moon light. We enjoyed the Napoli channel most on the TV while working on the internet with the cable to the wall. All was good at San Pietro.

The family room was a basic room with five beds put in making it quite cramped. The room was above the front of a restaurant and had cigarette smoke coming in from the people smoking outside, it smelt constantly. Once the restaurant closed we had to put up with the noise of the staff dragging table and chairs around until at least 1am, not very family […] friendly. There was a lack of soap and shampoo, 2 shampoo sachets for a family of 5 for 2 nights certainly not adequate. The staff however were friendly. The hotel's location is ideal. Only a few minutes walk to the Vatican and St. Peters. It is also near the S. Pietro rail station, making it very easy to jump onto a train. Ask for a front facing suite - their terraces overlook the dome of St. Peters.

O hotel é bem localizado, próximo a bons restaurantes, estçao de metrô e pontos de ônibus e pertinho do Vaticano. É um hotel antigo, bem decorado estilo clássico, porém com um defeito grave: não possui elevador. Tivemos que subir dois andares de escada com pesadas malas! Além disso, o recepcionista que nos atendeu na nossa chegada foi um pouco antipático […] com a questão da nossa dificuldade em falar o italiano.
