Charm , elegance, professional friendly staff, beautiful Old Victorian by the ocean. Room comfortable - the breakfasts where superb. Just an all around great experience- highly recommended for couples who want just want to get away and step back in time in the wonderfully renovated house.

The inn is lovely and very Victorian. However, it is not in the old historical section of Cape May. We liked not being in the middle of it all. The rooms are small, or perhaps it was the one we were assigned to. The breakfast and other foods served were outstanding.

The tub has in need of resurfacing and the bathroom was not very clean, there was used soap in the tub. This place needs to be brought up to the rate they charge. Not going back.

The Angel of the Sea is a nice Victorian hotel. However the Victorian theme has been slightly overdone in the decorating and the beds could use some updating.

Angel by the Sea in Cape May was great. Kind of expencive, but so was everything else in the area in season. Bikes, beach gear, breakfast, tea time, wine and cheese was all provided, very fancy yet quaint. It was a short bike ride to the middle of the shopping food district and 300 feet from the beach. We will be back.

The hotel is lovely and the staff--who might all BE family--are very hospitable. They spend an enormous amount of time baking and preparing crudite for the good of the guests as well as dispensing tea and wine. The location is perfect, there is plenty of parking and the grounds are beautifully kept. The theme is High Victoriana with all the trimmings […] but there is plenty of air conditioning as well. My only suggestion would be that the staff be a little more informed as to what is going on in town and where these things might be. They seemed oddly unaware of the location of stores, restaurants and attractions touted in articles about Cape May. It's possible that they spend all of their time working to keep the hotel so lovely. Read more

My husband and I were very pleased to get an overnight reservation at the last minute. The place was quite lovely and quaint. The only drawback was that the room was on the third floor and there was no elevator, which was not good on the knees or back. I would recommend only if you can get a room on the first, maybe the second floor. It is not ideal […] for older folks with somewhat limited mobility. It is definitely well worth the money, however.
