"Not in off season"
Very nice hotel set in a beautiful location within easy reach (driving) of plenty of beautiful countryside and quaint Italian villages however I found the staff less then friendly and wasn't advised the restaurant was closed until 8pm which was a major disappointment and hugely inconvenient. Room was a good size with balcony and I found it to be very […] comfortable. Breakfast was ample, public areas were populated by staff/owners family most of the time which wasn't very accommodating to guests wifi only worked in public areas. Hotels.com has this property listed as 4star which I'd disagree with due to poor customer relations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonably comfortable but too expensive"
03/02/14 gbz2013 Rome, Italy
We enjoyed our stay, with reasonably a comfortable room. Services were however very limited and the food was rather heavy and not necessarily very fresh. Worst note however was the price, largely out of line with the overall hotel and restaurant quality.
"Hotel Sport Daniel"

The cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in! Simple rooms, but nice and very comfortable. This past September when we checked in we were asked "why are you here, this is the "off" season". When I explained I was there to look at the village my grandfather had emigrated from in 1915, the staff beamed! Laura the owner and the excellent desk clerk jumped into action and started calling people in town with the family surname. A couple of calls later they had located a possible relative as well as the village clerk who has signed the documents I had copies of.......IN1960!!! That was not enough, they insisted that they would meet us in town at the commune office in the morning to do more research. Long story short, they found my second cousin, Angelo and provided translation for my limited Italian skills. To say above and beyond would be a shortcoming. They went with us to the village cemetery to visit my family's graves and spent time translating for us. Not only was the room and breakfast very nice but the hospitality was the best I have ever had...I wish we would have been able to stay longer. While Pescasseroli is not on the list of many tourists, I cannot recommend the Hotel Sport Daniel enough!!!!
"Stay at Hotel danile"

We stayed at the Hotel Daniel for five nights this August. This was our second visit. Our first was last October, in the quiet season, when on some nights we were the only guests. This time the hotel was full. Both times we have very much enjoyed our stay there. We would definitely return a third time. It is a small, family run hotel and the family are extremely helpful and friendly. Though the hotel was full we slept well at night. We had a fantastic view of the mountains from our room. The hotel is spotless. Great coffee at breakfast time.

Located just outside the main village area but absolutely great hotel with wonderful food, loved the setting and the beautiful scenery around.

Have just returned from a week at the Villa Daniel Hotel Pescasseroli. This is a lovely family run small hotel. You get good hearty Italian food, a swimming pool, fantastic location in the Abruzzo mountains & staff that could not do more for you. The hotel is located a short (10 minute) walk from the delightful town centre & is a great base for exploring the national park. I will definitely be visiting this part of Italy again & when I do I will be staying at the Villa Daniel Hotel.
"Hotel Daniel fitted in with that part of the world"

Stayed here with my husband and 15 year old daughter. Booked through Inghams. Daughter had room to herself same as the one my husband and I shared at no extra cost. We had brilliant weather. It did not rain at all during whole week we were there and very hot. Hotel maybe on old fashioned side but it was spotlessly clean and staff were brilliant. In this uncommercialised part of Italy I was not looking for same type of hotel as I would want at home or in more commercialised parts of Europe. We thought choice at dinner on one night a bit limited but again would not have chosen this unspoilt type of holiday if that had been our priority. We thought hotel less than a 20 minute walk from centre. Beautiful walking country and good choice of excursions - we went to Rome and Pompeii/Vesuvius and other excursions.
"Relax in the mountains"

Have just returned from a weeks stay here as part of a package tour. The moment we arrived staff unloaded the luggage and it was taken to our room. No formality at check in and we were shown how to operate the electric door and windows shutters and sun blind. The room was of a reasonable size with a large shower in the bathroom. The balcony was large enough to accommodate 2 chairs which was sufficient. This is a very small hotel with only 8 rooms and 3 apartments. It caters mainly for Italians so very little English is spoken. However this is not a problem especially if you have taken the effort to learn the very basics in Italian, such as good morning, how to order drinks etc. Use of Italian is very much appreciated. By saying hello to staff and other residents, after a few days, resulted in them greeting you in English. The hotel is very relaxed and informal. There is a comfortable lounge and a small bar area, reasonably priced, where everything is served to your seat and you are not allowed to clear anything yourself. The moment you try to do so someone will appear and do this for you. Breakfast is very limited but coffee of your choice is made freshly for you. Dinner is 3 course with choices for each course. The food is of a very good standard. The wine list is varied and reasonably priced, 10-20 Euros. The hotel is about 900m from the main town but they offer transport if you require it.. Early breakfasts are not a problem, we had to leave at 6am on the final day but the full breakfast was provided. There is a good size pool which has a retractable roof. and a large lawn area. There is plenty of walking in the area but public transport to other areas is a bit limited. Regarding the weather as you are in the mountains rain or storms can occur at any time and if prolonged there is little to do. Overall this is a very pleasant small hotel with friendly staff.
"Not 4 Star, more like 3 Star Ski Lodge"

We were due to stay in this hotel for a week but decided to cut our stay to 4 days. Breakfasts were very poor, no fresh juice and very limited choice. Also you had to select what you would eat that night at your breakfast. Dinner was very poor and veg and potatoes were put out as part of Salad Buffet and by the time your main meal came they were cold. Choice was very poor, one night the only choice was Fish or Rabbit, We don't eat either and they agreed to make us an omelete. Rooms were old but clean, had SKY TV and balcony. The location of the Hotel was about 20 minutes from the Town, however unfortunately most of the town folk were either depressed or not in to the holiday vibe. According to a local bar man the people are depressed due to the fact that no Italians and not very many others were coming to the resort, due to the earthquake. The Staff tried their best and due to the rain, it rained every day, and it was cold, the manager lit the fire in the main room on 3 nights. This is a nice 3 star Ski Lodge, but not suitable for Summer vacation. There are good walking trips but only for seasoned walkers with the proper gear.
