B&B Augusteo - Naples

It was just what we needed: a CLEAN, trustworthy, saferoom near the port, airport bus, etc. The neighborhood is pretty crummy, but hey, where in Naples isn't? Augusteo makes the mandatory night in Naples for Pompeii visitors not too bad at all.

Staff were friendly, but desk was unstaffed much of the time. Wifi was down all 3 days we were there & we were depending on it for business at home & to make bookings for the rest of our trip. I was surprised and amazed at how wonderful this place was for the price. The rooms were exactly like the pictures. Very large, clean and comfortable. The service was also great. The hotel staff was very friendly and tried to help us in any way they could. For the breakfast there was a basket of mixed pastries and biscuits. They would ask the previous […] night what sort of coffee beverage you would like and at what time . The next morning they would deliver the coffee at the time. We had lattes delivered at 9, it was wonderful. They also brought us fresh fruit and juice. There is a lot of shopping and restaurants in the area so it made for a pleasant evening and morning just to walk around and see everything. It is pretty easy to find, just basically just down a main street from the train station. My boyfriend and I decided to walk, which wasn't bad at all. It took about 35 minutes or so. But there is also a bus that goes to a piazzza near the hotel. I can't remember which one, but I know the hotel could tell you. I would highly recommend this hotel! Read more

We used this hotel for one night before we went across to the island of Ischia the next day. Finding it wasn't the easiest so prepare beforehand. It is off the main street of Via Toledo down a few backstreets with no signs. From the outside it looks like just another block of flats so not easy to find. Once inside though and up the narrow spiral stairs, […] the actual hotel is really nice. Everything was clean and tidy and our room was spacious. A little noisy from the streets down below, but to be expected in the middle of Naples! I think a Mother and her Son run the place. Both are very friendly and likeable. The lady doesn't speak much/any English.The guy does though and both were very helpful. They bring a hot drink in the morning and the continental breakfast (packets of biscuits/croissants) is already in the room. We wanted to explore a bit of Naples the next day so we left our cases in reception after we had checked out. A computer with free internet was also on hand. I would highly recommend this B&B. Our hostess Anna is genial and gracious and took care to provide a positive experience in the crazy, truly Italian city of Napoli. The B&B is conveniently located just within the border of the Spanish Quarter, 2 small streets from Via Toledo and the funicular to Vomero neighborhood. We loved our stay in this friendly clean B&B, the only negative point was that on our last night we were told that the hotel did not accept cards, cash only. This left us with the difficult task of running around Naples and transfering money over to different accounts so that we could withdraw the amount needed for our 8 nights. If only they had mentioned […] this at the outset I would have come prepared with euros from the UK, where I would have no bank charges and a better exchange rate! We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B Augusteo. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and bright although a bit small. Breakfast was served in our room with fresh coffee, however fresh fruit and fresh pastries would have been nice. The location is great. We really felt like we were residents of Naples!

The room was newly decorated and very clean. The breakfast however only consisted of a hot drink and some sweet buns. Although for this price you cannot expect much more. The staff was very helpful. The location was great, in the middle of Naples and very close to the pedestrian area.

Mais l'emplacement est parfait en plein centres dans le vieux Naples aux rues étroites. On est pret de la galerie Umberto et du Gran Teatro, des petis resaus sympas tout autour. La responsable du B and B est aimable, la chambre très […] satisfaisante (grande, propre, fonctionnelle). Il y a internet et en termes de rapport qualité prix c'est un choix très satisfaisant. Une ombre simplement: le petit déjeuner ! On le prend dans la chambre et c'est 100% produits sous cellophane: pas de yaourths, pas de fruits frais, même les croissants sont du produit industriel sous plastique... C'est peu, mais c'est une petite note discordante sur un établissement qui par ailleurs nous a tout à fait satisfaits en termes de localisation et de qualité d'hebergement. Read more

La situation géographique est plus qu un atout proche de très commodités des bus du port (ferry) . Bel hôtel très bon rapport qualité/prix. Ambiance familiale on y est très bien reçu , la chambrepropre, climatisée , spacieuse bien insonorisée . Je le recommande vivement . Petit bémol pour les grands mangeurs du matin car petit dej aux couleurs locales […] assez maigre et je pense qu ils devraient privilégier les pâtisseries ou mets napolitain plutôt que biscotte et croissants en sachet. A very nice Bed and Breakfast that I highly recommend to other travellers. Really nice rooms, not italian style at all. Very clean, and the lady of the B&B was really nice. Ce B&B est un havre de paix dans une ville en mouvement. Très accueillant, le personnel est serviable et professionnel. La chambre est joliment décorée, incroyablement propre et très bien insonorisée. Climatisée (indispensable même en septembre !) Très spacieuse avec une cuisine d'appoint intégrée. Couleurs de la décoration, meubles sont choisis avec […] soin ce qui donne une impression de "chez-soi," ce qui est rare et très agréable lorsque que l'on voyage. Petit bémol : le petit déjeuner est servi dans la chambre, donc il est léger. (biscottes, madeleines, croissants sous vide, un jus d'orange, un thè ou café ou capuccino au choix). La ville de Naples est en plein travaux de modernisation, elle est vivante et grouillante de vie, ce B&B est très bien situé (quartier hispanique). La façade et le quartier peuvent inquiétés mais au final je retournerai dans ce B&B et je le recommande vivement. Proche de rues commerçantes, dans une rue typique de Naples. Loin de la gare (15 minutes en bus : arrêt à 5 minutes à pied), mais proche de tous les sites à visiter et de l'office de tourisme. Read more
