"Perfect Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

Price at the restaurant was high ei $16.00 for glass of house wine. Gym under reno and card for other facility didn't work

"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

"Location is the only good thing."
I've lived in cities for year, but the noise level was unacceptable. The window let in every drop of sound. We could hear people talking quietly 4 floors down. The walls were paper thin and you could hear the tv next door along with every peep the neighbors made. The whole hallway reeked of people smoking and the toilet ran all night. We ended up just […] leaving a day early because we were so uncomfortable at night we couldn't enjoy our days. I previously stayed above a metro station nearby and the noise level was even less than here. Read more
"Studio McGill, Montreal"
Be aware that the room keys have to be picked up a few blocks away at an office building that is only open between specific hours of the day (eg. 3-5pm with the indication it will cost more at other times). Aparthotel is walking distance to Montreal city centre but, as per many downtown locations, lower levels noisy on Friday/Saturdays nights until […] 3 am (bring ear plugs). I did not request a room higher up because the building age and narrow stairs worried me, although the fire alarms definitely work....even at midnight! The bedding was clean, the bed comfortable, and room had mini tv, small fridge, and table w chairs. Single room lacked comfy chair and was very basic with thin tie up curtains. Not regular hotel with respect to no changing of towels, no soap, and 1 mini gratuatory toilet roll (4 day stay). However, if the price is reasonable, you dont mind co-ordinating the key pick up, and need a basic room with the stove rings and microwave amenities. Read more
