I love to stop at this hotel! The accomodations are beautiful, the pool is fantastic, the convenience of a nice restaurant is fabulous, stopping in the lounge is fun and a full hot breakfast buffet in the morning is wonderful...I highly recommend this hotel!

Interesting paddle boat in a large pond, with beautiful decking and landscaping in courtyard. Very spacious place. Nice pool area with a some arcade games. Free Breakfast was good, nice omelet station. Staff very friendly.

Overall the hotel is very nice. The rooms are spacious but some of the repairs were not up to standard and found the corners a bit neglected. We would stay here again as it is suitable for the price. Wouldn't pay more though.

My girls and I stayed here for a couple of nights just to get away together and swim and hang out. The restaurant is great (especially the free breakfast buffet) and the people in the lounge are very friendly as well. Both the bathtub and the sink drained very slowly, but the water pressure was good. The breakfast wasn't the greatest, but the first day we were there just before it closed and there wasn't much out on the buffet. The eggs were cold. I have recently stayed at the Magnuson Grand hotel 3 or 4 times they continue to provide an excellent experience. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The room rates are hard to beat and the food available at the Captain's Table is consistently good. (If you've never tried it, treat yourself to the "Macaroni […] & Cheese Pizza" on their menu! It's Awesome!) The only negative I can find is the lack of any other businesses in the immediate area, but, with the on-site restaurant and bar, even that is not a problem. If you find yourself anywhere close to the Magnuson, do yourself a favor and stay with them. You will not be dissapointed! Read more

I specifically reserved a king-size bed room with microwave and refrigerator and was told upon arriving that there was none left. There seem to be an airconditioning unit or something directly above our room that sounded like a space ship landing about every 20 minutes or so, which was rather distracting.

Everything was okay, but never had any house keeping utilized in my room while there for two days. Also, the hotel has some issues with their security. I was told they don't lock the outer doors for people leaving and entering the hotel until midnight. That is not secure at all and have never stayed at a hotel like that. The only draw back I found was the breakfast was poor for as nice a quality hotel as this one is. It is an independantly owned restaurant , so should not reflect badly on the hotel, but since one of their amenities lists breakfast, the hotel should perhaps renegotiate with the restaurant owners. There were no real vegetarian choices, the sausage gravy […] was out of a can and simply atrocious, according to the meat eaters on the trip. As for the rest of the breakfast pick up a piece of fruit or toast because the rest is not worth it. Very friendly staff. My event was located 10 miles away but the distance was worth the extra travel. A few bucks more than the places that I normally stay at in Litchfield but the cleanliness and atmosphere was well worth the extra dirving morning and evening. Had read that this hotel was clean, but "outdated" in decor. we thought was nice, was not perhaps cutting edge new, but not what I would consider old looking.
