Pension Nuevo Suizo - Seville

First time at a Hostel...great way to make friends there and would return again. Enjoyed having snacks available all day (fruit and coffee, and water). Was located in the shopping center in the historic center...was PERFECTO!!! Staff was nice and very helpful.

No place for cars- even the free airport pickup car had to park several blocks away, but the driver did pull one of our two rolling suitcases in the rain to the front door. Basic hostel (as described/expected) with a wonderful staff located in close proximity to everything you want to see. Stayed there for a couple of night as we were backpacking throughout Spain, would definitely stay again. I would recommend the guided tour offered by the staff.

Nuevo Suizo is right off Calle Sierpes. The location couldn't be better. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful, especially the Belgian and Italian girls. The services are outstanding. Free phone calls anywhere in the world, free coffee any time of day and free breakfast. I wouldn't eat that free breakfast if I were you, but it's the thought that […] counts. Unfortunately this place is filthy. I woke up one morning to find a gigantic cockroach on the floor. The girl at the front desk was apologetic and switched my room for me, but it wasn't the only time I saw vermin there. Obviously this will be an issue if you're staying right at Sierpes, but it's never a good sign when the rooms come equipped with cans of insecticide. They should have an exterminator come in and spray twice a month. And forget about sleeping with those beds there. To sum things up, I can't say enough about how much I liked the staff and location, but I would not stay here again. Read more

Positives first: The location is great. It is right off of Calle Sierpes which means you are right in the heart of the shopping district and only a 5 minute walk from almost all of the other main attractions in Sevilla. They have free WiFi and free international calls from reception (under 5 minutes). Overall, our stay was fine. We were not there to […] spend time in the room and we knew we were staying in a pension and not a mult-star hotel. That being said, we felt we were a little deceived by the pictures on the website. The condition of the property is significantly more worn that you can tell from the picture. Our room was clean, however, it was a bit disconcerting to see a can of aerosol insect killer sitting on the table between the beds when we first walked into our room. To be fair, we did not see a single bug in the room, however, it wasn't a great first impression. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special. Our biggest issue was with the room key situation. The policy is to leave your key with reception every time you leave your room (there is a box to deposit you key on the way out). This by itself didn't bother me, however, there was no lock on the box and anyone could take your key out of the box if the was not a staff member at reception. On several occasions we has to wait for a staff member to return to reception so we could retrieve our key and access our room. In one case, after being unable to locate a staff member and waiting at reception (no bell to ring or other way of locating staff) we removed our key from the drop box and entered our room (thus highlighting the security problem mentioned earlier) Again, we were not expecting much, and mainly booked the room for its location, however, it needs a few basic improvements before I am comfortable recommending it to others. Good location, friendly staff but a bit "old" (could use a remodel). However, this is the first hostal that I have encountered that offers free internet and computers to use it, free calls to many countries for ten hours a day and free tea and coffee in the lobby at all times. Water in shower was alway hot (at the coldest position). Airconditioner was unsuitable to maintain cold temperature. Of course, the room rate was cheap and this was the main reason I picked the hotel. I also enjoyed the staff - they were friendly and helpful.

Hotel was very difficult to find. Two days no warm water in shower, lot of noise caused by washing machine, room was not cleaned, poor quality of bed, soda machine was not working. A lot of hassle for a high price. Very disappointing.

The building is a wonderfully authentic old spanish style one with a central well and a rooflight at the top. The rooms are small, but clean. The staff are friendly. The shared bathroom I was using was certainly clean and modern. The all you can eat breakfast is basic, but adequate. If I had one moan it;s the coffee machine (you can use it all you like for breakfast and all day). That thing is noisy enough to wake some people up and boy is it slooooooooow. Very poor soundproofing! Breakfast is in the "entrance/hallway" (07:00-10:00am) of the hotell and you can hear them speak down there while trying to sleep at the fourth floor!!

Het pension heeft een goede sfeer en oude kenmerken. De bedden waren confortabel, badkamer schoon, maar de airoconditioning was niet erg subtiel. Het ontbijt was simpel, maar we hadden eigenlijk niet eens verwacht dat er ontbijt zou zijn in een pension. Het dakterras erg aangenaam en stil ondanks dat het midden in het centrum lag.

Great Pension, not fancy but clean and comfy. Friendly and helpful staff, AC in the room, decent breakfast (included!) coffee 24 hours a day and free!. If you don' t mind to share a bathroom (always clean when I used it) this a perfect place to explore Sevilla.
