The room was absolutely disgusting. Carpeted. Old run down air conditioners. Tiny rooms. We noticed that the bottoms of our feet were black. Then we realized it was from the filty carpet. The air conditioner in the room immediately made me sick. I think it's mold that's on the carpet. I was very close to calling the Dept of Health. Luckily we only stayed […] 3 nights. The website is deceiving in that it advertises parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, etc. All of those services cost extra. They are not included in the room rate nor do you get a discount. The pool area was nice and the beach front hammocks are relaxing. There is NO ocean swimming here though so don't be fooled by the pictures. It is a Man made beach with a rocky coast. Stay in Old Town where you're close to the great vibe of Key West. The rooms here are filthy!!!! Waste of time and money! Read more

we were rather upset initially at the lack of friendly cooperation from the front desk staff or empathetic listening or problem solving attitude but the holel owner who later appeared saved the day. We hope the repairman who got fired partially on our account will get his job back. Praise the Lord if he does!! This is a pleasant, quiet place to stay with and old-Florida beach motel feel to it. Upside: It fronts on the water with a "beach" that is nice to sit out at and drink a glass of wine prior to or after being downtown. Downside: It is a $12 cab ride to downtown. The Stoned Crab restaurant, however, was excellent. It offered the best fresh seafood I had […] in Key West. In a town that is inexplicably short on good, fresh seafood restaurants, the quality of the restaurant may have made up for the cab ride. I found it best to drive the rental car into town or Taylor Beach in the mornings and back in the afternoons, cool off with a swim in the pool, change clothes, and head back downtown for the evening in a cab. Ibis Bay Beach Resort was just what we wanted...a small, easy to find hotel that has local charm. It is by no means luxurious, but it is quaint, charming, comfortable, and clean. Paint and decor in the room was amazing. Just a few items and I would give it a five. The windows need curtains to block the morning sun. The room was much smaller than we thought. There was no closet and the bathroom was tiny. This location was perfect for us because we had family staying on the Navy property in their camper that was right next to this hotel. Good location to get downtown.

We loved this place! We were Leary from some other reviews but could not have been more pleased. Our room was clean, well decorated and spacious. We had room 305. The staff was fantastic and didn't hesitate to answer our every need. We can't wait to go back to Ibis!

Uncomfortable beds. Tiny bathroom. Room far from being clean. Resort fee is a joke. Swimming pool is cold, wifi is slow. We did not find the beach (it is true that Key West does not have natural beaches, but to me and for sure to most people, I can walk into the water on a beach). Great place to stay. The housekeeping staff never restocked our cups, toliet paper, etc in the room and we were there for 5 nights. We left our beach towels to be replaced by the housekeepers and we didn't get new ones, when we went to the front desk to ask for new ones, it felt like we were being accused of stealing the towels we had. The answer was […] "the housekeeper said she left you new ones". Otherwise the pool was great, the staff at the Stoned Crab restaurant were great. Nice helpful staff, great restaurant, clean but housekeeping didn't show up till after 3 and never made beds or replaced towels. Mattresses could've been better, a bit soft but overall a real cute place with good staff and food, convenient to downtown by car ,cab,bike or scooter. This hotel has benn renovated recently, we were to have a room with a pool or courtyard view, ended up with the view of the parking lot for RV's. For the price of the hotel it was disappointing, even if you are in Key West, we had no wash rags in the room, there is no coffee pot in the rooms, the a/c could barely keep the room cool, ( window Unit installed […] in the wall) there was a 1 inch gap under the entrance door that was an outside entrance, and no curtains to darken the room, when it was day light it was bright in the room. Had never been to the keys before. My fiancé and I did some research on different places in the keys to stay. We chose the ibis resort because of lots of great pictures & descriptions on their website. Our trip was January 2013. This place was a dump! Besides all of the ridiculous construction going on there right now .... The place itself is NOTHING […] like the Internet shows it. This is NOT a resort of any kind. This is a little motel on the side of the highway. Literally. There's no resort, no beach, nothing. I don't know where they got those pictures from online. The rooms were extremely small, old, dirty, unkept. The pool literally sits right next to the highway and is just bad. My fiancé literally cried as soon as we got there and walked into our room. We left and stayed at a REAL resort. It was more money, but well worth it. You definitely get what you pay for in the keys. You want a nice place and a relaxing resort?? Stay away from the ibis. Front Desk were only helpful at times. The fun desk could not answer all of our questions. Hotel said internet service. Our rooms did not and thus had to go to lobby to get connections. Complimentray coffee was available however we were not told. The patio off the room was nice but bright lights were on until about 1am. With thin curtains, you slept […] in a very luminous room. If you book through Expedia, the resort charges you a 'resort fee' of an additinal $10 per day plus tax once you check in. That is on top of the additional fee of $10/day, per person if you have more than 2 people in the room. This was charged through the Expedia booking. First, the good... 1) The hotel is right on the water 2) The place has been recently renovated so the room was very clean and very nice. 3) The restaurant/bar there on the hotel property served good food. 4) You're only about 50 feet from being able to sit on the shore or in a hammock right next to the water. 5) Staff was friendly and nice. Things to […] be aware of: 1) All the room descriptions say some rooms face the water and some face the courtyard, but don't believe it. ALL the cheaper rooms face the courtyard (which is really a parking lot). So if you want a water view, spend the extra money. 2) The hotel is about 3 miles away from all the action down you probably go to Key West for, and parking down there is expensive and a cab ride will cost you $15 each way. So if you're looking to spend most of your time in the bars on Duvall St. this might not be the location for you. But if you're not, it could be just the place. And last but not least, the bad...watch out for the "resort fee" that they tack on at the end of your purchase. The "real" room rate is about $10 more than what shows up on your search. I personally prefer that they were more upfront about it and just include it in the room rate. Read more

We go out of our way to stay here, it's a great resort. Yes there is constructiion going on with the roads but that's not their fault, it's a super nice place and has a great things to offer right at their resort.
