The Marble Arch by Montcalm - London

I booked the room for 3 and requested sofa bed. Got a room with double bed and portable single bed. The room was very small. The heating system didn't work for 2 days. It was snowing outside and cold. I don't recommend this hotel.

Many of the rooms are very small but the quality and comfort of the rooms will outweigh this fact. Not all standard rooms are the same size so there is small, small small, and really really small. A group of 5 of us stayed there twice within 1 week and were upgraded on the first stay. The upgraded rooms were beautiful and what you would expect in a […] 5 star hotel in terms of size and comfort. The second stay we all were in the "regular" rooms which varied in "smallness." Two of us could barely fit in our rooms with our luggage, which had to be placed on the floor beside the bed. However, it really didn't matter. The updated rooms are beautiful (they spared no expense on the decor), the staff are great, and the location is fantastic just a couple blocks from the tube stop. The room has every comnfort and convenience feature, modern and clean. Just that the space is too small if you spend a few hours a day working in the room. Bu the location and the friendliness of the staff more than makes up for it. Great place, reasonable price for bang-on central London, and very comfortable.

This hotel has a great location, only one block from the Marble Arch Tube Station and Hyde Park. We had a meeting at St. James Square in the morning and since the weather was nice we walked it in about 1/2 hour. The district is full of restaurants and shopping is nearby. The room was clean and well maintained and the staff were very helpful. The only problem that some may have with the rooms is that they were very small. The twin bed and desk were all that could fit. Everything was great except that the maid was careless in leaving an empty bottle on the minibar (for which we had to make sure we were not charged for). We also requested extra soaps/shampoo, which we were not replaced, again prompting a second request. Finally a sinkful of dirty water that was not drained greeted us upon our return to the room one […] day. This also did not get addressed after notifying the front desk. When I arrived at Euston, the taxi driver took me to the Montcalm at Marble Arch: this is a different hotel as the Marble Arch by Montcalm is a smaller business across the road. After checking in, I went to my room which was an upgrade. The room was very well specified with only two faults - 1. NEVER AGAIN! NOISY. Staff were indifferent,privacy blind between bath\bedroom did't work , 4 times a promise to fix it never happened. 3 different rooms and an offer of a 4th if we could have been bothered.Banging, flushing toilets, showers and other peoples electric appliances, equals non extstant sound proofing. The fire alarms went off at least 4 […] times, the staff were unconcerend as this happens when guests have a shower with the bathroom door open- god forbid there was a fire! Non existant storage the list goes on . If this is 5 star then so is Travel Lodge. Save your money and stay in a shop door way you will get more sleep. Read more

Un hôtel bien situe a proximite du métro et d'Oxford street, la chambre était très propre mais petite pour un 5 étoiles, la salle de bains très mal éclairée avec les toilettes a l'intérieur, on pourrait attendre mieux !.... Un seul gel douche pour 4 jours....mais le pire est l'accueil, plus que discret, inexistant, il faut répéter dix fois son nom, […] aucun commentaire sur la chambre et les services de l'hôtel, personne ne parle le français alors que dans presque chaque pub il y a au moins une personne qui parle le français. 仕事で１５日間滞在しました。 チェックインの時、外観写真とは別の向かいにある別棟に案内されましたが、情報は双方で共有されており、スタッフが荷物も運んでくれたので、別段不満は感じませんでした。 通された部屋は最上階で広々、とは行きませんでしたが清潔。お湯も豊富に使え、ネット環境も申し分なし。 毎日、部屋の清掃もしっかりやってくれ、ターンダウンも毎日してもらえました。 スタッフのみなさんも常に笑顔で対応してくれ、気持ちよく滞在できました。 地下鉄セントラルラインのMarbleArch駅から徒歩５分ほどで、その間に深夜までやっているスーパーやサンドイッチやサラダが揃うデリ、カフェもあって、食事などには困りませんでした。 １日だけエクストラで朝食を食べましたが、ハムやチーズなども豊富で美味しかったで […] す。 まぁ￡１２という値段に見合うかは個人の感覚で違うでしょうが、ロンドンなら標準的と言っていいのでは。 大きな幹線道路であるパークレーンに近かったですが、時折通る緊急車両のサイレン以外は騒がしいということもありませんでした。 Read more
