Great location, friendly and welcoming owners who upgraded us which was a nice surprise. Super individual rooms which are well fitted. Books and dvd's to borrow. Good food served at breakfast and throughout the day in the lovely beamed bistro. The guest house was fine, lovely, friendly staff, and a very friendly labrador dog:). BUT--the car parking--it is impossible to get parking near the guesthouse. Beware!

We were given a very warm welcome and shown to a delightful room on the first floor, with double aspect windows, characterful beams and a really cosy feel. We liked the quirky layout of the hotel and the fact that we were given a key to the back door (on the same level as our room) providing easy access to the upper level street. Breakfast was first […] class, with a wide choice of continental options, beautifully presented. The cooked full English included local produce and was exceptionally good. On our second morning we also sampled scrambled eggs with clotted cream and smoked salmon, large portions and extremely tasty. Coffee and tea topped up regularly, and ample coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate in the bedroom. There was no particular view and parking is limited, but this is such a well placed guest house in the heart of Dartmouth with a lovely atmosphere and we would thoroughly recommend it for a short stay. What a find, right on the front at Dartmouth, luxurious spacious accommodation. We stayed in Mountbatten, lovely view of Bayards Cove, close to the ferry. Everyone very friendly and all was very homely. Would definitely visit again don't be put off by the price it was real value for money.

Such a lovely place to stay in a very nice location right in the heart of a great little town. We are regular visitors to Dartmouth and usually self cater but this time for just 2 nights we chose the hotel. The management are new to the job and had a hard act to follow by all accounts. But they know their business and impressed us. We were upgraded […] to a larger room without asking but saw the other rooms and they all had a charm and quirkiness to be expected in a very old building although the fittings and ensuites were modern and very tastefully done. The hotel is but a few yards from the historic departure point of the Pilgrim Fathers. The features of the town, including some excellent restaurants and pubs and the brilliant cinema in the Flavel are in easy walking distance. The hotel features a good tapas menu and even had some live music for one of the evenings. The breakfast was also excellent. Read more

For our first visit to Dartmouth, the Bayards Cove Hotel turned out to be ideal. It was in the right place, adjacent to the Lower Ferry, and within walking distance of all the Shops and other facilities. This is a quaint Hotel with delightful Staff. Extreemly clean and well decorated. We would certainly visit again.

I stayed at the Bayards Cove Inn in Dartmouth last weekend (9th - 11th July 2011)with my daughter. The Inn is right in the heart of the town by the quay. Having negotiated the narrow streets we were able to unload our luggage assisted by the very helpful staff who then made sure we were able to find parking nearby. We stayed in the Nelson suite and […] were pleasantly surprised by the space and especially the separate room with a full size double cabin bed. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were two large sofas and dual aspect windows with lovely views over the town and waterfront. We will certainly be returning to this little gem!
