"Perfect Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

Price at the restaurant was high ei $16.00 for glass of house wine. Gym under reno and card for other facility didn't work

"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

"Bare bones hotel"
I was not expecting much for this shared-bathroom hotel room, but I experienced even less I expected. Upon check-in, I was first shown to a room that was clearly used; the bed was not even made. The proprietor insisted, to my face, that the room was clean. When I insisted, he lead me, somewhat unwillingly, to another room which, happily, was clean. The […] shared bathrooms were marginally clean as well. Frequent and thorough cleaning is essential to happy customers and shared-bathroom, "hostel-style" accommodations, and I've stayed in many of these. The proprietors of this establishment simply aren't trying hard enough. On the other hand, this is a cheap but tolerable hotel in a wonderful part of Montreal. You get what you pay for! Read more
"Casa De Mateo - minimal comfort"
Just like staying at the Y. Room was clean (good matress) but minimal furnishings and towels. Office only open 10 to 3 so not a source of information about Montreal. Same breakfast each day. Reeked of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room (came in through the bathroom vent). "Kitchenette" was a table and 2 chairs. It was the winter season, but […] the place was deserted and depressing. Read more
"Could use a few extra room items"
The room was a little bare (thin blankets, no hangers), but overall the hotel was nice. It's cheaper than surrounding hotels, which is good, and the location ofcourse is amazing. Also, the TV was an old Cathode Ray Tube, which is not only obsolete, but a large waste of desk space.
"Not exactly what I was looking for"
Where do you start with this hotel? I researched the place online and based upon what I found, I thought it would meet my requirements. I was aware there was no elevator but that wasn't the most important criteria. I booked online through hotels.com . I arrived around 6 - 6:30PM and was a little surprised to see that the only person in the office appeared […] to be on her way out. No matter, check-in was hassle-free, she gave a key to some guy and he led me up the stairs to the room which was clean but dingy. He didn't offer to help so I didn't offer him a tip. After he left, I threw the bags on the bed and looked for the bathroom - but there wasn't one! I had just assumed there would have been a bathroom, just like every other hotel room I've seen. So it didn't even occur to me to look for one before accepting the room. It turned out there were two public bathrooms - one with a toilet and one with a shower. The toilet had an unattached puffy seat so both you and it would slide off the toilet if you tried to sit down - a disgusting and frustrating experience to say the least. The shower was cheap plastic and so small you would bang your arms into the sides when trying to wash. At least the floors appeared clean. I was expecting complimenary wi-fi in my room - when I researched it online in the hotels.com review section, I somehow came to the conclusion there was complimentary wi-fi in all the rooms. So I plugged in my laptop and saw that I would need a password to use the wi-fi. I went down to the office to ask for the password, which is when I learned the office was closed from 6:30PM until morning. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel. I was lucky I had arrived before 6:30 - if you can imagine, many guests would probably be very surprised to find the office locked and nobody there to assist them when they arrived. So I went to the restaurant, which was open. I asked the waitress what I was supposed to do to login. She didn't know, so she asked the guy who had Read more

"フロントがない"
ホテルはこじんまりしていたし、部屋も思ったより悪くなかったんですが、フロントが無く、トイレが共同なのはやはり不便でした。 対応は悪くありませんでした。
"para evitar!"
habitación sin cortinas, cristal de ventana roto, frío y mucho ruido de la calle, nadie en la oficina para recibirle, lo único bueno es su ubicación
