"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

The landmark Brooklyn Bridge links Manhattan with the city’s most populous borough. Waterfront Brooklyn Heights offers superb views of Lower Manhattan. Renowned for its brownstones and leafy neighborhoods, Brooklyn embodies America’s “melting pot.” Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Jewish communities add to the cultural mix. Highlights include Coney Island, Prospect Park, and Brooklyn Museum of Art.

Our only complaint would be how loud the night club and far left elevator were. Ear plugs.
"Aloft Hotel Brooklyn"
It's nice that there are now some options in downtown Brooklyn. The Aloft was very comfortable and everyone was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the games in the lobby.
"very nice"
Grown and sexy and lovely .
"They Could Care Less....."
Aside from the initial check-in process, where the front desk young lady was more than helpful and friendly... the remaining staff throughout the remainder of my stay were rude, ignorant, and aloof... displayed a "I could care less about you" attitude towards me. Even when I was standing there to order a breakfast sandwich early in the morning (Monday, […] 03/19)... where there were no other guests at the front desk waiting... the 3 staff members whom were present, just stood there talking up a storm... and, even after making eye contact with me... they continued to chat away until they finished their conversations and, THEN, turned to me to say: what do you want? I mean... WOW.... "what do you want?"?????? As if I am bothering you for being the staff member of the Front Registration Desk of Guest Services... I mean... really... AFTER ALL... this IS the Hospitality Industry the last time I had checked into the hotel industry. Aside from the rude and ignorant staff... the hotel itself is hip, modern, and very comfortable with its amenities. Nevertheless, no matter how nice the establishment is... it is only as good (or, bad) as the actual guest services it dishes out. And, in this case... simply inexcusable. Read more

Great hotel. Very japanese feeling. Great staff. Unique location but worth the price.

"Don't eat the pizza"
Worst pizza I have ever ate. Staff had to come in and fix the thermostat. Thin walls. But an okay stay.

"I love aLoft hotels!"
I would have given this high marks all around but found the temperature settings hard to manage. It was freezing then I turned the heat on, but it got too hot too quickly and could not find a happy medium, nor were there instructions on how to use the thermostat. Otherwise everything else was great. Hotel is just a block from the subway stop, and not […] hard to find. There was on street parking, the at your own risk kind, and we remained unticketed, untowed, and unstolen. I will be back as long as the rate is still affordable. The 2nd floor outdoor space seems so perfect. Once the weather gets warm it will be such a lovely spot. Read more
"Great Accomodations in Downtown Brooklyn"
The hotel was GREAT, and the staff friendly. NO problems with the surronding area (the block that the hotel is located on, is actually on a side street) so the hotel can appear to be on a desolate street, but if you walk 1/2 block up to Fulton Street, there are MANY stores/people, business, local movie theater, restaurants, etc...Also, the Brooklyn […] Court house, and other high end Condo's/apartment buidings are couple of blocks away. The Jay Street Subway station was a couple blocks away. Overall, the neighborhood is a typical NY urban area, and we enjoyed our stay very much. Will definitely stay again the next time I am visiting Brooklyn... Read more
"Aloft Brooklyn Hotel"
The service was great & the hotel was awesome with its design! It was a little hard to find and the neighborhood wasnt the greatest especially at night. The bartender we had was amazing and everything else was too! They offered a quick checkout and helped us to get to one of our tourist activities for about the same or a little less then a cab!

"A night to remember..."
This is the first time I visited this hotel, and it was official! The room size is a little snug, but makes it all the more cozy. The decor is very contemporary modern. King size bed an even more added PLUS! 42 inch flat screen, in HD with local cable channels, very nice! Complimentary local phone calls, easy access to local restaurants to order delivery. […] Only complaint, house keeping knocking on the door early to determine whether or not guests were still in the room. They should wait until check out time, or get a listing from the front desk of the rooms that are vacant, and then do their work. Other than that, excellent. Security is very good as well. You can't go up to any floor without the usage of your hotel room key. This is what operates the elevator. I liked that a lot. Kind of gives it a Pent House feel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. And I would most definitely visit it again! Read more

"I LIKED THIS ONE"
This hotel was very nice. Ver convenient to the subway. Great resturant next door at the Sheraton. Aloft gave discount card for the resturant. Bar in lobby made great drinks. Rooms small but had everything you needed (except iron). Surrounding neighborhood not so nice. Over all I really liked this one. Would go back.
Great hotel--very clean and conveniently located near several metro stops. The rooms are simple, but well-appointed, they don't skimp on the important things like a comfortable bed and good shower head. Plus the lobby seems to always smell like early gray tea! Friendly, helpful staff too. We left something in the room after we checked out and they […] were very nice about getting it shipped back to us. Only complaint is that our first night there we could hear the person in the room next to us coughing very clearly throughout the night--wasn't a real issue, but I imagine it would have been unpleasant if there had been a large, rowdy group in there. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. Be sure to check out the Dekalb Market at the corner of Flatbush Ave and Willowby--it's constructed entirely from shipping containers and is full of cute little shops and food stalls. Read more

"Hotel Aloft. Small Rooms"
The hotel appearance was nice the people were friendly they had unreasonably priced snacks but at least they were available 24 hours. Do not park across the street at MPG parking lot. Mr Jose and my husband got into an altercation and resulted in my husband having to call 911. We asked if it was parking for the hotel he said yes and he said it was 25 […] dollars but we could not leave in and out. So my husband to him to hold on and we walked over to the hotel to ask about parking, they to us that they did not work with that parking lot but outsourced to a valet company Vic's by the way I love them!!! Who offered us 24 hours valet in and out unlimited for 32 dollars. We went back to get our car and Jose wanted to charge my husband 8$ for our 3 minutes. He grabbed my husband when my his and tried to get the car omg. The cops told us this was not the first time Jose has done this. Nonetheless we get to our room the bed is comfy but the room is claustrophobic NYC about quantity and not quality. We did not get the balcony room we were promised thanks to hotels.com no guarantee. But nonetheless the location was very close to the train line and we had a great shopping trip in manhattan. I slept like a snug bug in a rug in that wonderful king size bed. The style of the hotel was nice lived the eclectic look and the modern eggshell shaped chairs that I am looking to purchase for my basement hang out spot. The surrounding neighborhood was kind of desolate and creepy but it all and all was an ok hotel Read more

"Needed a place near BAM"
If I had known that there was no subway service from Manhattan's west side and no ability to call the hotel directly, I would never have booked this room. I ended up on a Sunday night on a deserted street with police cars apprehending a suspect and homeless people searching for doorways. Slightly panicked, I ducked into a Duane Reed to call the hotel, […] and a young woman heard the address and told me she was going in that direction and would take me there. Luckily, she was for real and I got to my destination. The morning walk to BAM was fine. However, I would NEVER do this again and feel customers should be warned. Read more

"Aloft-Brooklyn"
This hotel met all of my needs, the price was reasonable for New York, it was convenient to the subway and the room was excellent. There were two problems that I saw, the vanity light was under a recall and so there was no light over the sink, and the hotel was in a run-down neighborhood. I was visiting family and did not have to walk around the neighborhood […] by myself, but I would have felt uncomfortable if I had been in that situation. Read more

"Aloft Hotel Brooklyn New York"
Every room in the hotel has a disconnected Vanity light fixture over the bathroom sink. Our bathroom was dark and impossible to use the mirror without lighting. There were no other mirrors in the room. Management explained that the light fixtures were determined to be a fire hazzard and so were disconnected. Still, i felt that management should have […] reduced the room rate or offered another lighting alternative. The dark room ruined our stay. Read more

No fridge. Had to buy a cooler to keep things cold we needed . No Ice machines on any floors. Went to loby every time we needed some. Light over bath vanity didn,t work. Said it was due to some kind of fire code. Dah!! Wouldn't you think if there was a code problem you would have to have it fixed.? When we checked in and got to our room. We lfted the […] window shade and all we saw was run down buildings. Don't stay there un less there is no other place you can get. It was forgetable. Read more
"Aloft is the place to be!"
Great hotel and concept! Visual and audio stimulus throughout the facility. High tech with a lot of nice touches. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel chain to others. The staff was great, friendly, and helpful. I could not found one thing wrong with this hotel!
"Trip to NY"
I booked this hotel for a quick 2 day stay in the city. Admittedly we didn't use much of the amenities as we didn't spend much time in the hotel but the room was very nice and clean. The only negative comment I have is that getting to the hotel was a very big pain. All the streets seemed to be either leading away or were closed down to vehicle traffic, […] so that there was only one way to get to the hotel. We drove around for 30 mins just trying to find the correct street that would take us there. Even after calling the hotel twice they were not able to provide helpful directions either. Read more
"Ideal location"
This hotel was very modern, clean and the location in Brooklyn was great. Within 3 blocks were many subways and we only a block from the Fulton Mall Area if you forgot to pack something. If you are coming from the Newark Airport and hire a towncar, their GPS has problem finding the hotel. Front desk explained that most GPS use Google Maps and they have […] not been updated. Get instructions before getting to Broolyn. Also they have a really neat rooftop bar that worth checking out. Read more
"Bad experience"
We actually had a great stay at a loft in 5 days. But when we were going on to Washington with train, we found out, while standing in Wasinghton DC, that we had forgot to empty our safetybox. And this experience shaddowed our great positiv impression of the hotel. We call right away to the hotel -to let the know, that we had forgotten some important […] thing. I had to talk to 4 different persons and stay for at hold in 5. min to times - that costed me 75 dollars in mobilbill(I am from denmark) Finally I god the right person, who had our things, and she promised to send the to our home adress in Denmark the same day. On our own costs of cource. 1 month later and many email later, the still had not send our things. -Important things, that we needed! The 1. because was, that they were not sure of the adress. I told them AGAIN the right adress. BUT the pack ended up in Denmark on a totally other adress than I had told them. Fortunately it was with some sweet danes, that sended the pack futher to us -at our own costs of course. -They could have kept the pack if they wanted. We would never had known were it was?! So the was a very bad experience!!! I think the hotel should have been more professionel!!! Read more

"nice, new hotel"
Our room was cozy but very well designed for the space. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept very well thanks to it! The shower is nice. The TV is good but some channels have audio syncing issues or sound without picture. The common areas of the hotel on the ground floor and the mezzanine level are very nice. There must be a dozen subway […] lines that have stops within a quarter-mile of the hotel, so the location is very convenient for getting around NYC. I highly recommend a visit to Junior's for great deli sandwiches and/or amazing cheesecake. The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is that a noisy neighbor can be annoying if they are on the other side of the pass-through doors sometimes present for adjoining rooms. On the morning we were to check out, the guests in the adjoining room got annoyingly noisy for a bit. This, however, was not enough of an issue to detract from my opinion of the hotel. I will definitely stay here again if I need a hotel in NYC. Read more
"Aloft New York Brooklyn Hotel"
Was there a week. Room accomodations were very nice. Car service readily available with access to subway nearby. Hotel in walking distance to several places to eat and shop. Lobby was small but found that this was custom for the hotels in this area.
"Great hotel & Staff"
This hotel is brand new so everything was nice and clean. The room was a good size for two people who just used the room to sleep. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. "July 4th Weekend"
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was very modern, clean, new and comfortable. The room is compact but just perfect and the surrounding area was safe with a lot to do and places to eat all within walking distance.
"LOVED IT"
I loved everything about this hotel. The location was extremely convenient. close by restaurants, shops, & subway stations. it was clean & the staff was very friendly & accommodating. this is my new go-to hotel.
"Not comfortable, awful stay"
I'm a physical therapist and a colleague & I stayed here for 3 nights for a course @ LIU. The king size bed was slightly larger than a queen. Being a therapist, I am all about comfort and good sleep. The bed was SO uncomfortable! 2 of 3 nights, there was a lot of noise from the adjoining room. The walls must be incredibly thin cuz I could hear people […] laughing till 1am to which I got irrate, called the front desk and told them where the noise was coming from and to please take care of the situation. They called me back 15 min. later (after I'm trying to fall back asleep) to ask me which room it was coming from. I was so annoyed since I had already told them! The in-room air conditioning was loud and would not keep the desired set temperature. It was either muggy or cold and had to be adjusted all the time. (I even checked with the front desk to see if I was doing something incorrectly, which I wasn't.) I stayed a few months ago next door at the Sheraton and had a lovely stay. We thought we would try this hotel since it was brand new...I mean come on, being newly renovated, how bad could it be? Well trust me...it was! I would definitely not stay here again. Read more
They should have had all the little stuff done, we had to compete to use the elevators with the contractors, and we were told we would have a room with a view of Manhattan, we had a view of the vacant building across the street

"It was.....aight"
For the price & the location, the hotel was good. The neighborhood was safe also. So if you dont care about anything else but price & location, I recommend it. But if you're like me, & expect a little more bang for your buck...keep reading. I know its NY & space is limited pretty much anywhere, but the room was so small! I stayed with my husband & 2 […] kids & it was uncomfortable. We didnt have much room to walk around in, there were no dressers or drawers, the closet space was way too small. So between 4 bodies, 2 beds, & suitcases, we had to wait turns to walk in the room lol. There were channels on the tv that didnt work. They fixed them & gave us complimentary breakfast. But the next day the tv didnt turn on at all! & they're plasmas. Oh yea, and get this...the pool was only open from 5-10pm!! That was absolutely ridiculous. Granted the hotel had been open for about a week when we stayed, so perhaps there are "kincks" they need to work out....or so we were told.... Read more

"Excellent deal"
excellent location. The hotel itself was still a little green and some things weren't as they should have been, but overall, it wasn't a big issue (ie, no alarm clock yet, I could tell some maintenance still needed to be completed in room, not all channels on TV worked). A subway station was at the end of the block. Lots of food options in the surrounding […] neighborhood.
