"Nice place, good deal for the money"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We stayed here for the good rates, and were within a 5 minute walk to Doubletree and the other premier hotels and also the awesome Ale House (try the chicken twisters - yummi). The staff at the front desk were awesome, though the sales desk BS'd us by telling us that their tickets were the same cost as at the gate of Universal. Universal gate was cheaper. They also pushed for us to get a 2 day pass saying it takes 28 hours to get thru the two parks. Well we bought the 1 day pass and we were on and off ALL the rides in both parks by 3PM and were heading back to Island of adventure to ride some again. But if we bought the two day pass we would've been bored out of our mind. Granted we did go to Universal on a Tuesday and there were few people there. Also the sales desk told us it was a 15 minute walk. Me and my friends are in marathon shape, it still took us 30 minutes to get there. Lastly they told us that since we are staying in a hotel close to Universal we'd get in at 8, another lie, we arrived at 8:15 and we weren't allowed in until 9, only guests staying in Universal itself at the expensive premier hotels were allowed early entry. So in summation; I would recommend La Quinta but don't go buy your tickets from the liars at the sales desk for any parks. PS - our room smelled like someone smoked in it, it was mild so we didn't complain and the windows opened, that was nice.
"nice comfotable room with updated decor"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
I enjoyed my stay but did not get to eat breakfast because they ran out of a lot of items an hour before they stopped serving it.

International Drive's largest claim to fame is the Universal Orlando Resort, home to two theme parks — Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios; the water park, Wet 'n Wild; and the entertainment area, CityWalk. The I-Ride trolley (really a bus) stops frequently along the street. At the north end of International Drive are two shopping meccas: Prime Outlets-Orlando and The Mall at Millenia.

"not Bad for the money"
Was not bad for the Money. The only problem was the lack of information they give u. like that there is no maid service. or that they hold $75 untill u leave and then they charge u $35.00 for the "free wi-fi" which we argued about and they refused to refund. Besides that wasnt bad , but if cost was more id say diffrent

"Very close to Universal"
Plenty of room with the two bedrooms. Nice screened patio. In room hot tub great after long day at universal.
"Great deal for a large family"
We stayed one night at Orlando's Sunshine Resort before spending a day at Universal. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our group, so finding one room that would fit all of us and not break the bank was a challenge. This hotel was perfect--2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus a sofa bed and full kitchen for a great price. Very close to Universal and Millennia […] mall. Kids even played Wii on a projection screen at the pool on Saturday night and got prizes! Read more

"orlando's sunshine resort near universal studios"
Well equipped for 4 adults and 2 kids excited to go to universal studios Orlando. Ungortunaty is rained all day so we ended up in the suite all day. We are all still alive. Lol. It would have been difficult to do had we stayed onsite in one of the universal hotels as they are less than 400 square feet and very expensive. We have stayed onsite almost […] every time we go. About 10 times a year. Not any more. Because we got rained out this past weekend we are going to book for this coming weekend at Orlando's Sunshine Resort. Hoping this weekend there is sunshine. Lol. Highly recommended. Read more
"Timeshare resort close to Universal Studios"
We didn't know when booking but this resort is a timeshare with no bus service to any theme park and no maid service at all. When you check out you have to strip beds, put sheets and towels near door, vacuum, clean entire unit, do dishes, take out all trash to dumpster or they will charge you a cleaning fee. We were there for a family vacation but the […] stress of doing the maid service wasn't worth it. Next year we are going around the corner to a full service resort. Read more
