"Impecable y Excelente Servicio"
Response by Las Brisas Resort and Villas Hi Mikkel Thank you for taking the time to review your hotel. We are glad you found our pool refreshing, like so many of our visitors. We serve a daily continental breakfast that is free with the price of the room. We offer coffee, tea, juice, 5 different fresh fruits, homemade muffins, coffee cake, donuts and usually a hot item like french toast, pancakes or eggs and toast. We reguarly check the pricing at other hotels and keep our pricing in the low end for Jaco. While we keep our prices low we offer the best service we can for that price. While we are located closer to the jungle in Playa Hermosa, we offer free shuttle service to the beach to make the distance smaller.

No hablaban espanol.
"Totally loved this hotel"
Our stay here was fantastic. The owners were really helpful. Rooms are really pleasant. Pool lovely. Breakfast was great. This hotel made our holiday. It's in a super location close to jaco which has restaurants and shops. Also several lovely beaches.
"Why didn't the American owners tell us about the Scarlet Macaws on the Beach?"
10/12/14 Leslie W New Westminster, BC, Canada
We felt like we were bothering the American owners when we wanted to go to the beach. They seemed to know so little Spanish or knowledge of the local area - except one pizza place. In fact, we were SO disappointed to learn from other tourists on the day we left that Scarlet Macaws were frequenting the cashew trees on the beach at around 3 PM every afternoon! The room needed lots of maintenance - the shower pooled, the window shades didn't fully shut, there was a hole under the door for bugs to crawl through, one of the beds was very hard, etc. On the plus side, their breakfast buffet was exceptional. They even had Brazilian Coconut Tea! We heard toucans in the distance. The pool was pretty, but a little chilly compared to those further north (Guanacaste). Nearby Parc Carara is closed on Mondays. Otherwise, we saw macaws with black underbellies, flying high overhead there. It was a very warm, Amazonian rainforest. The hotel did direct us to a forest trail nearby their hotel. However, not only did we have to pass by a guard who only spoke Spanish, we encountered a fence warning us not to pass.
"Quiet, beautiful and comfortable"

We stayed here on our first night in Costa Rica. After a harrowing drive down Route 1, we found the hotel rather easily (ask for directions when you reserve!) and were immediately charmed by the beautiful setting. The rooms look out over the pool and rotunda area that is bursting with flowers, plants and birds. It was the rainy season (mid-September), so we ended up being the only guests. Our spacious room had air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a small kitchen area (fridge, sink, dishes), a queen-sized bed, a small table with chairs and some pretty funky toilet paper art. The breakfast (you select from several choices) was so filling that it held us over through all kinds of activities. The staff members were friendly and helpful and will set up tours for you if you're interested. This was a good base for exploring the area: it was a short drive to Jaco for a larger selection of restaurants (but I would NOT want to stay there... it's loud, bustling and has a certain unsavory element at night), you can visit the Parque Nacional Carara, the crocs in Rio Tarcoles, the various tour companies offering zip lines, horseback riding and hikes, and of course the surfing beaches on the coast.
"An Oasis in the Central Pacific Jaco Beach area"

The staff made us feel at home with excellent hospitality and friendly customer service. My wife & two teens stayed here during School breaks the previous two years and had a very positive experience both times. We stayed in a comfortable suite w/ kitchenette w/small fridge in front of the nice pool. In over 23 years of traveling all over Costa Rica and staying in hotels/condos with poor property management, I was surprised that everything in the rooms that we stayed was working properly, a rare thing for hotels/condos under $100 daily rates. The location is near the main coastal highway but far enough not to hear the noisy buses or tractor trailers that other hotels near the main road of Hermosa beach are exposed to. It is within walking/bike ride to playa Hermosa and restaurants. A short drive to Jaco beach & town. We enjoyed the free delicious breakfast that was scheduled during check-in and friendly conversation with Manager John & wife before heading to the beach. Some local restaurants have delivery service, Pizza, subs, wings which we enjoyed, the info was available in the room. Free Wi-Fi, Easy check in & out. Convenient & safe parking for vehicles with surfing boards and luggage. If we go back to the Jaco area We will stay here again! Pura Vida, Henry & Sandra, USMC Semper Fidelis!
"Close to beach and Jaco"

Nice place. Clean rooms and clean beds very well kept. Has a pretty nice pool and great lounge area. Also the room came with a good breakfast which was included in the price. Close enough to walk to the beach (10-15 min) need a vehicle or ride to get to jaco tho. I'd recommend it.

I just want to start this review saying that I've now lived in Costa Rica for two years and have traveled extensively through the country. My son competes in surfing at the national level so we are in a different hotel every month. This is the second time I stayed at Las Brisas. I was so happy last year that I decided to stay again. When I called to confirm my reservation, the owners actually remembered us from the year before! The rooms are very meticulously taken care of as are the grounds and surrounding areas. The owner take time to get to know their guests and work the front desk, cook, help clean etc... The breakfast was awesome and gave choices of local tico food or other popular choices. The staff was very friendly and they all went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. I hope one day to stay here again. Thanks so much for making our trip so awesome!!!-Jacob and Chris Kelly

Stayed here in May 2013 for 3 days and wished I had stayed longer this is a small hotel\resort it is very quaint. We stay in a regular room but they had other home style rentals too. The people that run it are very nice and accommodating and go out of their way to help in whatever you need or want they have all the connection for zip line rafting etc. would stay here again this place is just outside of Jaco so quit not a party place. Nice breakfast in the morning nothing extravagant but enough to get you through to lunch
"Amazing hidden gem!"
We loved our room and the staff. Very relaxing place for a getaway. It was the cleanest and best kept place we stayed during our time in costa rica. They have a lovely pool and breakfast was really quality. 5 min drive to the beach. We wish we had stayed there more than one night! Look forward to visiting again!
"Beautiful resort with Wonderful Owners"
04/16/14 sandit10 Maple Ridge
We stayed here for 5 nights to be close to Jaco but not in this area directly. This resort is a little off the road but a lovely place to stay. We had no problem getting free transport to and from Hermosa by the owners and into Jaco as well for a small fee. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean. We included breakfast in our stay and it was a lovely meal served daily outside around the pool. You were allowed to choose your menu the night before. They were so helpful setting up tours from the resort for us and taking care of anything we might need to help make our stay better. John and Rachael are lovely, helpful owners who make you feel so @ home @ their resort. I would highly recommend their resort.
"A fantastic resort with excellent service"

My friends and I were attending a wedding in nearby Jaco over December break and decided to stay at Las Brisas after seeing the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. Our trip started with a small bump: our luggage had been delayed for 6 hours upon arrival in San Jose. After a quick phone call to the resort, our airport shuttle was rescheduled for the evening without a problem. When we finally arrived at the resort at around midnight (after quite a nerve wracking car ride through the dark), we were greeted by Rachel at the gate who checked us in and gave us a tour of the villa we were staying in. We had 7 people total in our party. My friend and I were the first to arrive while the rest of our friends came on different days over the course of our 10-night stay. We stayed in Casa Tucan which had 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with large showers. Our villa was very clean and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen, large dining table and a large comfortable L-shaped couch. When the last 2 remaining people of our party arrived, an extra bed was built for them in the largest bedroom. There was also a rooftop area on our villa that had a beautiful 360 view of both the resort and the surrounding landscape. The pool was clean and the grounds were very well maintained. Rachel and John were incredibly welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. They were able to arranged various excursions for us (zip-lining and day trips to Arenal, Manuel Antonio, and Tortuga Island), which made planning infinitely more convenient and stress-free. There was also a shuttle service to both Playa Hermosa and Jaco, which we used a couple of times. I would definitely stay here again. The location is wonderful: the resort is tucked away yet within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. It was fairly quiet and we felt very safe. Additionally, there was so much nature all around; the cows in the field across the road would sometimes moo, iguanas basked on the roofs, geckos scaled the ceilings of the outdoor areas, scarlet macaws flew overhead in pairs, and the vegetation was lush and plentiful... it was wonderful. And most importantly, the owners and staff members were all wonderful. It was truly a delight to have stayed at Las Brisas.
