"Close to the train station, and ruins."
The owner of this B&B was so incredibly helpful. We needed to go from Pompeii back to Rome the next morning, in order to catch a plane from the Rome airport in the afternoon. As soon as we got to the hotel, the owner not only checked us in and helped carry out luggage, but he made all the arrangements for us, including buying the train tickets online, […] finding information on connection in naples, arranging a taxi, and giving us restaurant recommendations. Our long journey the next day went off without a hitch. He made our stay in Pompeii unforgettable Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very convenient to train station"
Salvatore was very helpful and always available. Being close to the train and using his advice, we were able to get to all the places we wanted to very conveniently. The eastern entrance to Pompeii Ruins was an easy walk. He also recommended some good restaurants, from the inexpensive pizzeria around the corner to the lovely garden Todisco. Our only […] objection was having to move to another hotel for our fourth night but Salvatore handled everything very nicely. (He said that our room had already been booked for that night, but it did not show that on line at hotels.com) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"easy access to places of interest"
Our stay was very enjoyable, our room comfortable, clean and very quiet and Salvatore No. 1 looked after us exceedingly well! Our breakfasts and chats on the rooftop terrace will never be forgotten! Pompeii ruins, Herculaneum, Naples, Sorrento and Amalfi all within easy reach using the circumvesuviana trainline. Many restaurants and bars all around […] as well as shops and atms. Will definitely return soon. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bed and breakfast Dolce Vita, Pompei"
Hotel is very convenient for the centre of town and only a short walk from the train station. Standard of the hotel is good - very clean with a reasonable size room and small balcony overlooking the street. Salvatore the owner was very helpful in giving good advice and recommending activities and places to eat. He arranged tickets for the bus trip […] to Vesuvius, a great trip if you're up for a bit of a hike up to the crater. A couple of downsides: the owner doesn't live on the premises so when we arrived and rang the bell outside (no reception desk) there was no reply. There is a number to ring and the shop owner over the road came to our rescue and rang Salvatore. If you know what time you expect to arrive let the owner know in advance so he can be there. Also, we thought we had made the booking using a credit card but he can't accept credit cards so we had to go to the bank to pay by cash. Fine if you can do that but it would be helpful to know before you arrive. Overall very satisfied with this as a base for exploring Pompeii ruins, Vesuvius and Herculaneum. "The ruins of Pompeii"
The B&B was within walking distance to the ruins with lots of trattorias and restaurants in close proximity - the proprietor was very nice and although he did not speak a lot of english we used google translate (seemed to be his favourite app). We were treated very well and would not hesitate to return to this B&BGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was really a lovely B&B. One minute away from the train station (Pompei, not Pompei scavi which is the entrance of the ruins), 25 minutes by walk away from the main ruins entrance (but the town of Pompei is nice to visit too). The B&B keeper is really nice, he doesn't speak English but made lot of effort. The breakfast is gorgeous, delivery in your […] room with a fresh hand made juice ! Our bedroom was on the street side, and could be a little noisy but after a day walking in the ruins, you appreciate a nice warm shower and a good bed without paying so much attention to the street noise. Just be aware that in Italy they prefer to pay cash, and this B&B doesn't accept credit card. I highly recommended this B&B! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great spot for exploring Pompeii"
We only stayed here one night but our host could not have been more helpful. Salvatore was so enthusiastic about making sure we found the best restaurants , gelaterias and attractions in the locality. The rooms were nice and well equipped. Everything within walking distance, the ruins obviously are amazing although it was very hot in August.
"lovely and great location"

Just 50 meters from the train station, across the street from a great grocery, short blocks from terrific local restaurants and shopping, and a lovely short walk through the town piazza takes you to the back door of ancient Pompei. The rooms were decorated in local themes, we had the lovely Pompei room with copies of frescoes on the walls and a charming balcony. Our fellow traveler had the Capri room in soft blues and mediterranean artwork. We were there in Dec. so missed out on a terrace breakfast, but our gracious host, Salvatore, served us our selected menu in our rooms each morning. He was incredibly helpful pointing out restaurants, nearby sites, and travel directions. We recommend this hotel to couples and families. Our room had bunk beds besides a comfortable queen. Be sure to stay over in New Pompei so that you have lots of time to explore the ancient city.
"A great accommodation, well located and with a great host"

Salvatore provided a lovely, warm and informative welcome to the City. He provided us with a lot of important information of how to spend our time within Pompei, giving us tips of excellent places to eat as well as the best way to visit our desired attractions. He also provided us with a wonderful breakfast on his beautiful roof top garden each morning, with his individually artistic Cappucinos. For the price that we paid, the room was definitely excellent value with great furnishings and tidily presented. Would definitely recommend it. Grazie!!

We stayed at the Dolcevitta for one night. We booked 2 rooms ( one for my parents and one for me and my wife). Salvattore, the owner, received us in a very symphatic way and treated us very well. Positive points - Rooms are clean, with air conditioning, good restroom and decent matress. Location is excellent, close to all touristic points. Parking only 5 Euros/overnight and 10 minutes walking from the Dolcevitta. Negative points - no elevators, so if you have big or several lugagges, you`ll have difficuties in the access. Breakfast was very poor and breakfast amenities are improvised in the solarium. If it rains, you may have to skip your breakfast. In general was a pleasant stay.
"Perfect location for a short stay in Pompei"

We spent a night in the B&B Dolcevita and the B&B completely lived up to our expectations. The owner, Salvatore, was simply great! Extremely nice and helpful, he was honestly the best part of the B&B. He gave us so many recommendations and advices about Pompei and its surroundings. Thumbs up to him! For the rest, the B&B had all what you would expect from a B&B. Quiet and clean room, very good breakfast, and ideal location (very close to the staition and walking distance to the Scavi and square for bus departures to the Vesuvius). In a few words I would say that B&B Dolcevita is an excellent value for money.
"In Walking Distance to the Scavi"

Salvatore was very helpful and came twice to fix a very loud, running toilet - once late at night. He gave us very good restaurant recommendations. The room was right on the main road and very noisy! Other rooms are not on that road. The room was small and was not real clean, the breakfast so-so. There is no elevator and all the rooms are upstairs. If you want to walk to the archeological site this place is close enough. The small grocery across the street made us fresh sandwiches and we bought water and a few other things to take in our back pack for lunch at the site.

Had the pleasure of a 5 night stay recently. Everything was even better than we expected it to be. The main window in our particular room (Capri) was on the small side but we were not there to sit around looking out of the window, so no big issue. As a place to stay it has everything going for it, even a fridge in the kitchen to chill your bubbly! Wifi was available, the aircon was great, the bed one of the most comfortable and street noise levels low. Salvatore and everyone else we met were just great and contributed to the quality of our stay. In fact Pompeii is probably the friendliest place we've stayed in Italy and we've done a few.
Don't let the entrance fool you. Once you go upstairs and see the rooms you will be happily surprised. The rooms are neat and tidy and spacious. Salvatore, the owner, is such a friendly guy. He is very helpfull and will point you in the right directions you need to go to. The day of the arrival you fill in the breakfast form and Salvatore will bring you the breakfast that you choose on the terrace on the roof. And he makes the best cappuccino (we have to add the part that we normally don't fancy coffee) So he did a really good job. Even when we checked out he gave us a lot of pointers for the rest of our trip. Seriously this is a wonderfull B&B that will exceed your expectations! Thank you Salvatore for making it feel like a home away from home.
Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Pompeii. The owner was friendly, the rooms were small but had a kitchen, and only about 5 rooms in the whole place. No wifi in the room, but was allowed to go downstairs in the lobby where the router was. Good location, right across the street from a market. Recommended!
"Highly Recommended June 2013"

We spent a full 7 nights here. Our room was a lovely place to come back to after our days out and about. The Air Con was very welcome as we had some days at 30-31 deg C. The bed was Kingsize and had a super comfortable mattress. The room was very clean and serviced daily extremely well. The Tv had many chanels and you could always find something in English if you fancy a bit of telly. There is free Wifi that doesn't even need a password so you are fully in touch if you want to be. There is a small supermarket straight over the road for any bits yu want which is cheap. Salvatore the owner is a great guy. He is very friendly and always has a smile. He will do anything for you and whilst his English is not perfect you always manage to understand his advice/directons/help. Breakfast was served by Salvatore up on the roof terrace at a time of our choosing and always served with a smile. This accomodation is in our opinion excellent, and good value for money. We tended to have a few days out, spending a full day in the ruins at Pompeii (Utterly superb/stunning !). We had 2 days out on the train at Sorrento (Cost peanuts about 4 euros each return) We also had a day up at Naples by train again peanuts fare. We visited the huge Museum there which is just next to Piazza Cavour Metro station, as well as the shops further down in town. My one piece of advice would be - If you intend getting a taxi to Pompeii from the airport always pre book it. Currently the going rate is 50 Euros and that can buy a lovely Mercedes with a top driver. We didn't! On our arrival a taxi driver approached us at the airport (taxi cab with meters) He drove us there and there is a double supplement to pay outside of Naples. He ripped us off. He wanted 120 Euros, but in the end settled for 90 euros. This was the only bad thing about the holiday. Whilst there for ur return we booked a taxi online through Airports Shuttle express.com and got the Lovely Merc on the way back for 50. But this is about Dolcevita - Yes highly recommended and Salvatore deserves our/your custom. - By Janet and Mr. Roy (Salvatores' name for me).
