"Great Location and Service"
Stay every year and never disappointed. Lovely old hotel that is having a few changes/upgrades so will be even better when we go back. Staff are lovely. Swimming pool and leisure facilities are looking a bit tired but as they are upgrading all of this it should look amazing when we go back next year. Love the addition of the ostrich and llamas, with […] the peacocks wandering around it is lovely going for a walk in the grounds. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would stay again"
I was pleased with everything from the room and bed comfort to the receptionist making suggestions about what to do the evening we had there. Beautiful countryside and ferry access to Pembrook just a short drive away. The food in the resturantwas good and the continental breakfast (not included) was reasonably priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stop over to Ferry"
Ideal location as 5 minutes to the Ferry terminal. Quiet with peaceful sleep. Night porter looked after me as arrived late.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Useful for the Ferry"
The hotel was about ten minutes from the Rosslare Ferry Terminal so was well placed for an early morning check in. However being on the main road it was fairly noisy - all night!. The hotel service, room and food were well up to standard and not overly expensiveGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel near ferry"
The hotel and room were very good. The quality of service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful throughout. The bar food was mediocre and not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The extractor fan at rear of hotel made the room stink of cooking oil. We could not open the window as a result, making the room very hot. The breakfast area was badly organised and poorly staffed; we ended up in the bar and were completely ignored for tea/coffee. I would not stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for one night so we could catch the ferry to fishguard early. The price was very reasonable foe 2 adults & 3 kids (€116) we enjoyed our stay the room was lovelyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Danby lodge rosslare"
This was a lovely place to stay staff were excellent as was the room- we arrived late so it was quite dark and not being from the area would have been handy for a little more lighting or signage coming from the rosslare harbour direction but the stay was very enjoyable and would be happy to use them againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
We were very pleased with our choice of accommodation. The receptionist was very nice and welcoming. The rooms were big rooms and also cosy and warm. I would have no hesitations in recommending this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"BW Rosslare Danby Lodge - great for early ferries"
Hotel very handy for Rosslare ferry port, just 5 minutes drive down the main road to Wexford. Staff pleasant although as the hotel was quiet the only girl covering reception and the restaurant was a bit over-stretched so took a while to check in and get served at the bar. Bathroom very dated with lots of silicone filling holes in the tub where handles […] had been removed and I couldn't move the shower head (didn't want to get hair wet) so had to have a bath instead, plenty of hot water though. Only other minor quibbles were just 4 channels on the TV and the bedroom door rattled evey time someone opened a door in the corridor. Luckily didn't seem to be many staying so rattling stopped after everyone went to bed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"NO HOT WATER!!"
The staff were pleasant and the room was fine. However, I could not shower the morning of my departure as there was no hot water. The porter/receptionist said one of the pumps had broken down, and half the bedrooms in the hotel had no hot water. This was very, very frustrating as a hot shower is one of the basic requirements for a successful stay in […] a hotel. I will NOT stay in this hotel again for this reason. "Easy stay for a ferry connection"
08/30/14 Svensky Perth, Australia
This is a no brainer for a morning ferry connection. It's probably cookie cutter Best Western, but you can expect clean rooms, good service and very easy able rates. We stayed overnight and paid €81 for a family room, no breakfast, but a bargain for what was on offer. There's even a heavily laden apple trees at the front door if you want a snack on the way out.
"Room OK but noisey also smelly hotel"
08/29/14 JimboGloucester GLoucester
THis hotel is ok as somewhere to kip after getting off the ferry but it could be better. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell of burnt fat. Not very pleasent and easily fixed by sorting out the ventilation. The room was very nice and comfortable but we were given a room over the kitchens and the there was a hum all night. It was summer and as no a/c we had to have the window open.
"What a smashing little hotel"

This hotel is full of charm. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. A relaxing bar and a very good menu. It's perfection is in its location 4 km from beautiful rosslare beach 10km from wexford town. Only 10 minute drive to the ferry, ideal for traveling to UK and Europe. Local staff with the great wexford hospitality. Great hotel deserves better than its 3 stars
"Nice Hotel, Ridiculous prices!!"
08/15/14 CountryGirlWexford Wexford, Ireland
We attended a wedding in the hotel in August 2014. The hotel was lovely, basic enough with nice clean rooms. They seemed to up their prices for the wedding rate.. we paid 110 for our room for the night which is completely ridiculous and not worth it! Then 5.80 for a glass of wine in the bar!! Ridiculous the way hotels think that they can up the price of everything just because wedding guests don't have a choice but to stay there!
"Good place to stay for Ferry"

Stayed here enroute to the Ferry. The rooms were beautiful and very quiet. My one grouse with the hotel would be the shower. We were leaving early so maybe that might explain why the hot water was not really hot in our room. We had dinner in the bar area on the Sunday night and it was nicely presented and I enjoyed mine, my wife was not so lucky with her choice. The bar itself was pleasant and the barman changed over to the golf when asked, without any fuss at all. The staff were extremely friendly and thorough. I will stay again.

Once again we stayed at Danby Lodge on our way to the Rosslare Europort. This hotel is situated only 10 minutes from the ferry port so ideal for a stay before catching the 08;45 ferry home. The ladies work extremely hard but never fail to ensure that customers receive a great Irish welcome.

We had a couple of days at the Danby and the main thing that took our notice was how clean our room was and the rest of the main biulding. The staff were very helpful, nothing to much trouble. Our room was in the main building overlooking the Function room. The draw back is that we are smokers I know bad word, but we do still exist. There is a full covered walkway to the new function room which stops 4mtrs short of the main biulding, hence no cover if you leave the bar or your room for a smoke.
"Nice hotel pity about food"

Arrived at the hotel reception staff friendly. Accomodated in room 11 small but clean and tidy. Half an hour had to leave room it was like a sauna, could not open windows more than 2 inches. Noticed window was plastered in birds droppings. Due to late arrival, eat in bar, had a stir fry which was very greasy. Went back to room, in the night felt as if the heating was on in room. Next morning went for breakfast cost 10 euros extra, juice (no water), cereal, tea, fine, made mistake then and asked for 2 cooked breakfast (one for me and one for my wife), of scrambled egg, mushrooms and bacon. when it arrived it had been microwaved after being cooked and was frazzled (mushrooms looked as if they had been long time sun worshippers, bacon was welded together and the egg which was in a round lump could have been used for Gaelic football. Our friends food was cooked properly. Cannot fathom out why. Mentioned heat in room to waitress who seemed to be covering reception as well as restaraunt. Fan in room when I got back. That evening no hot water had to have a cold shower. Never again.

Very enjoyable overnight stay before early morning ferry from Rosslare. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was well presented and spotless and the food was top notch. This hotel is close to Carne Beach, Rosslare Strand, Kilmore quay and Our lady's Island so there is lots to see and do to compliment your hotel stay. Danby Lodge is well worth a visit.
