"A beautiful getaway in a beautiful location."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 28, 2012
It was a beautiful setting, a great photo opportunity, a fantastic back yard to enjoy an English tea, and nice modern rooms. All the staff were so nice. We had a great experience sleeping in a castle and hope to return some time.
"Mostly Great"Reviewed by Heather M of "Boulder, CO" on Mar 20, 2012
The room was lovely, the bed super comfortable, and mostly the food and staff was excellent. A few minor points - the tv in the bathroom didn't work, nor did the lights over the bathtub or behind the bed. No big deal as there was plenty of other lighting and really, who needs to watch tv in the bath!?! The selection of channels on the tv were pretty lame and the ones there were were mostly fuzzy. My 2* pub in Stow the night before had a much better selection, and the channels all came in well. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms. Yes, there is wired broadband but judging by the number of people using ipads in the lobby I'm not the only one who travels with only a tablet these days. For this calibre of hotel wifi should be standard at this point. Also, the wifi only worked in the dining room at a few tables close to the reception. Dinner was excellent. The crab salad was light, fresh and yummy. The chicken with truffle mac and cheese was perfect. Service was pleasant and competent. Breakfast wasn't quite as together. The waitress came up and asked me what I wanted without bringing me a menu and seemed a bit perturbed that I didn't know what I wanted without seeing one. I ordered the eggs benedict which, although quite tasty was a bit bizarre in that it had two eggs atop one bit of bread. Also there was no garnish of any sort which made the plate look really dull. Not an awful experience, but nothing to write home about either. The staff at reception were excellent both at check-in and check-out.
"Friendliest place we have stayed"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 8, 2012
We stayed several days at New Year's. The staff actually got to know us, and we felt like part of a big family. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Great food and atmosphere. They had a fun New years bash and we had a great time. All the nearby families came and danced with their kids. The rooms were cute and with nice views. Very well equipped and clean. The Marden Arden Farm is a short walk and fantastic to see in early morning. You can jump on the tour bus that goes around town just down the block. We miss this place already, and wish we could have stayed longer.
"Stay at Clarence Court Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 20, 2011
The hotel is a ~6 pound taxi fare from the Cheltenham rail station, and rather conveniently located to downtown shopping and entertainment activities. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful, the breakfast included was excellent and the facilities were period and quite nice. I would stay there again.
"Lovely hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 27, 2011
We enjoyed the hotel and staff, they were all friendly. The room was very clean, it was just that it was a Saturday night and we were above the restaurant so it was a bit noisy, after 11:30 pm it got quiet. The food was nice, a few choices for vegetarians.

"Cleanliness Zero, Comfort Zero"
Spent two nights on business. Room had cobwebs, bed sheet torn, bathroom bin not cleared and bath hole had hair. Double bed was uncomfortable as lumpy. Raised concern to Receptionist but no follow up by management. Receptionist and Bar Staff friendly. Poor service in Restaurant even though it was empty - salt and pepper pot missing from table, noticed […] that one other person had to ask for bread and water. Food was tasty but vegetables were cold. Learnt from colleague that his bathroom had blood stains on the carpet. Read more

My dominating memory of this hotel was embarrassment. I used my debit card to reserve a room and was given the usual room number card to use in the hotel. When I ordered drinks at the bar I was told that the hotel card was not valid. i had to go to reception to sort it out. Dinner was a re-run of this with me being told (so everone could hear) that […] the cost was extra - which I knew. Breakfast was even worse as (in front of others) I was told that I had only paid a room rate and was not entitled to breakfast. After an exchange of views the waiter said i could have breakfast at a cost I can't mention. Upon checking my web reservation it said "Guests will be offered a comlimentary English breakfast." Back at reception (again) it was agreed that the billed cost of brekfast would be deleted. What a shambles!!!! Read more

We stayed at this hotel as it was fairly close to Malvern where a dog show was taking place and we had entered our dog to be shown. On arrival we met Sujith Kumar who warmly welcomed us and directed us to our room he was very polite and helpful. We did not eat there and we left too early to have breakfast. We had a couple of drinks in the bar where […] we met Matt the barman who again was very polite and helpful. The hotel was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. The hotel is on a golf course and most of the guests were golfers. The course was very useful for us to exercise our dog in the evening and first thing in the morning. My wife managed to leave her handbag in the bar before we went to bed and this was not noticed until the morning. We asked at reception in the morning if one had been found and it had been handed in by the barman, complete with contents. Big sigh of relief ! We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to others Read more
"Anbefales ikke."
Hotellet ligger flott til og ser fint utenpå. Men rommene er slitte og rengjøringen elendig. Frokosten var dyr og forferdelig, spiste der bare en gang. Hyggelig betjening.
