"Can be better"
Spend 6 days in the hotel, the staff was very kind and the location was good with free horse driving to the closer hold town. The bad point was the restaurant in the hotel, we went there to have a dinner but the food was so bad I order the meat from Australia but it was like plastic I called the waiter and they was sorry offer a free drink and ask if […] I want to change to another course. I finally get the Pullman burger but the meat was not that good also just force myself to eat and went back to the room. They should train better the staff before let them deal with customers. Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fabulous resort in a beautiful part of China"
10/21/14 Laura M Christchurch, New Zealand
We stayed at Pullman Lijiang in October 2014. There were four of us - my husband and two kids and I, and we chose a 2-bedroom superior villa. The description says it is 358m2, which we were skeptical about, but it turns out that the private area was 358m2 in total, including the large private courtyard. The 2-bedroom superior villa has a master bedroom, another bedroom with two single beds, a large bathroom with shower and bathtub and a small room with a couch and a desk that also housed the coffee machine. It did not really have a lounge room, which was quite disappointing, but then again we really did not miss it too much. The courtyard had a spa pool. I think that the one-bdrm place has the same footprint as the two-bdrm place and thus has a proper sitting room. The villas were beautifully decorated and felt very luxurious. The beds were comfortable and had lovely linen and pillows. The outdoor lighting was also fabulous so we loved to use the courtyard after dark. The gym was stocked with brand new equipment, but had mostly cardio equipment and not many weights - just one of those multi purpose units and some hand weights. Still, could get a nice workout so no complaints! The spa was fabulous - I had a body scrub and a Balinese massage, and that experience was superb. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, including an egg station and a noodle station and the coffee and chocolate croissants were great. We also ate dinner at both of the resort restaurants, and they were both great. Service was superb. I had my birthday at the resort and not only did I get congratulated by many of the reception staff, I also got a cake prepared for me! That made me feel very special. We took the tandem bikes out for a couple of hours. They were in a need of a bit of a fix-up, especially the brakes, but hopefully that will be sorted soon. We had heaps of fun riding around the resort and then ventured out to the roads, too. Lots of people say that Shuhe Ancient town, that is about 1 km walk from the resort, is better than Lijiang Old town that is a bit further away and you need to order a taxi. We thought that they were very different but both were lovely. We enjoyed our lunches and shopping in the old towns. Our stay in Lijiang was the highlight of this trip! Definitely recommend this resort to everyone, including families travelling with children.
"Luxury at the foothills of the mountain"

This place is quite far from the sites around (Lijiang and Shuhe). This is a place to stay for a tranquil gettaway. It is very expensive, but to be expected for a Pullman. There is no pool. But the spa was very relaxing. The buffet is expensive! I was also frustrated that while a taxi from the airport to the hotel cost 100 yuan using the meter, when I reserved a taxi to go back to the airport they charged a fixed price of 150 yuan. Since I had a plane to catch, I was in no position to argue.
"my villa dream - just special this hotel, the place to stay longer"

A perfectly Relaxing and quiet surrounding where your Meetings and conference will have success! I like the Architecture and friendly Grey Stone buildings. To stay in one of These wonderful Villas makes you dream to stay here for weeks or months, Relaxing and motivating to travel around and visit the Shuhe Old City which is closby. I tried the exquisite chinese Restaurant as well as the breakfastbuffett you can choose from a variety of Food and beverages. The staff are friendly and smile, give you best hospitality and makes you feel welcome home far from home. I will go to Pullman Lijian again, maybe for a Spaweek !

After a 10-day business trip in China, decided to add several nights to explore this town. What a treat - stunning beauty with great views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from my deluxe room on the 2nd floor of this resort property. Loved the open floor plan of the room with option of sliding doors for privacy in the bathroom. The rooms have every amenity you can wish for including a small humidifier. The only design flaw was in the use of porous surfaces for countertops in the rooms which have markings which cannot be removed. I did also ask to see the villas which are perfect for couples wanting large space, families or couples traveling together. The hotel's location is perfect for walking to Shuhe (not even 10 mins) or request a ride in the horse driven carriage. Although communication in English was occasionally an issue when ordering room service, patience easily resolved the issue. The staff were always eager to please and made one feel very welcome. Made to order omelettes were an excellent choice for breakfast in the Western restaurant. Balinese massage in the Spa was wonderful and a perfect ending to my visit. If you are interested in culture, don't miss the Naxi Orchestra nightly performance, the Dongba museum in town and the embroidery institute in Baisha village (both have excellent English speaking guides available). Hope to return to this beautiful spot in the coming years.
"We had a successful and pleasant meeting gathering in Pullman Lijiang"
09/02/14 Ringo H
My company brought together our clients in China, altogether 34 people, for a meeting and social gathering in late August and had picked Pullman Lijiang for it. The event was from 20 August till 23 August and I was the event manager. Now I would concluded our event was a successful one with our clients and ourselves very happy with both the hardware in Pullman Lijiang and its services and hospitality. All the staff from there whom I worked with and those encountered were friendly, patience and willing to do extra to help. The layout of the resort is of course excellent which suggested you with a feeling that you are staying in an ancient Chinese village instead of a hotel. Ringo Ho from Hong Kong
"Totally relaxing and quiet stay. Great Value for money!"

I stayed with my family (kids are 1 and 4) here for 8 days and all of us enjoyed the stay very much. We stayed in a 2-bedroom Villa with 358 sqm and it was very enjoyable to have so much space for a great rate and the large terrace / garden is great for the kids to play around. With a vast experience of 5* Hotels all over China, this was definitely my best value for money experience accommodation-wise. The bathroom is very spacious and nice. the villas airy and with a lot of light and great view. The villas are constructed in a very smart way that full privacy is guaranteed. Coming form noisy Beijing, we tremendously enjoyed that it was totally quiet. The beds are in my eyes perfect, not too soft, not too hard and you get a huge variety of different pillows. The service was excellent, and worth a special mentioning are Van, the In-room dining Manager and Selina the restaurant manager who helped us a lot with all the special needs a family with little kids require. Also remarkable was that the GM (Mr. Schaller) was regularly present and looked that everything went well (I was in many 5* Hotels were in a one week stay I haven't seen a GM one single time). The room service worked very well and was always quick and efficient. Location wise the Pullman is just perfect. The drive to Lijiang old town takes 10 minutes by car / taxi (free shuttle bus by the hotel), it's a 10-minutes drive to the Baisha old town (which is currently in a reconstructing phase but still charming) and the best is that Shuhe old town is only a 10 minutes walk away. With that Pullman is simply perfect for people who like the visit the old towns but require a quiet location with privacy. The Chinese restaurant is very good and all the dishes we had were very tasty. The breakfast selection is not huge but adequate and tasty. The only slightly negative aspect was that the portions of the Western restaurant were a bit on the small side. The food quality was okay, but not stellar but they are working to improve this. Anyway, Yunnan food is excellent, so Western food was not important for us at all. We had twice their BBQ promotion with a RMB 199 "all you can eat" offer and the meat was very tasty and BBQ-ed very well. I definitely can only recommend to stay here if you don't need permanently the hustle and bustle of Lijiang old town. The Villas are simply fantastic with great value for money and perfect for a relaxing stay in fresh air, quiet atmosphere and great architecture. I will for sure return with my family.
"Dining Experience at the Western Restaurant - Needs dramatic improvement"
08/16/14 SonnyAng Shanghai, China
We are staying at the Banyan Tree & my friend recommended the Pullman Lijiang so we decided to go for a late lunch today, August 16th at the Western Restaurant since after 3 days of eating authentic Chinese dishes we were craving for western food. The dining experience was really not pleasant - the Tagliatelle with Beef pasta we ordered - was not hot (room temperature) and not al dente and the Wagyu Beef burger we requested to be well done had blood & we had to ask to re cook. When we paid our bill, they swiped my card and it went through since the bank sent me a message that the payment went through. Something happened that the paper I am supposed to sign did not go through and the wait staff tried to swipe my card a 2nd time even though I was showing the payment went through already. They called the supervisor who recommended I sign a blank piece of credit card bill so they are safe and they will cancel on monday - I explained to them that they had a problem & they need to fix this with the bank since I paid & the money went through - not to burden me & try to charge me 3 times. I will not recommend dining here - it is a nightmare - especially if you are on a holiday. Big mistake to leave the Banyan Tree - the team is nice and polite and smiling - but the food is not up to the quality of a hotel, the follow up service by the supervisor or duty manager if there is a problem is to throw it back to the client - I left my room number at the Banyan Tree for them to contact me if there is any problem but the solution of the duty manager, the quality of the food - is not a pleasant experience especially if you are on a holiday - will recommend local stand alone restaurants - better quality and no hassle. It was too stressful.
"New but cold ambience"
08/13/14 outbackphotographer Alice Springs, Australia
This is a rather new hotel in Lijiang. Although superbly appointed as Pullman Hotels always are the architecture and ambience is cold. Built entirely from drab grey stone and concrete I really felt something was missing here. Everywhere you look is just cold grey stone. With so much colour in Lijiang, I personally think some brightly coloured Chinese decor could lift this hotel. Also the bathroom has some issues. Many hotels now use the trendy high lipped hand basins/bowl. However the the tap/basin combination here was poorly designed. No matter how slow you turned on the taps, water would instantly drench everything nearby. The floor, your clothes, and everything on the vanity. Water would hit the bottom of the basin and then spray everywhere like a fountain. The service was good. However the night I stayed there a group of loud foreign business guys were in the bar smoking cigars. The stench was so strong that the bar was only suitable for them. Luckily the Pullman has a library close by and we adjourned to there in peace. 5 star hotels in China have to get dedicated smoking rooms or lose their 5 star status. The hotel is very close to Shuhe Old Town which is by far the best attraction in Lijiang.
