I would have to stay the rooms are very clean and are kept well. The only thing I felt was that for the price that you pay for the room per night I felt that they should have at least threw in like one free meal. I would say overall the atomosphere was also very nice on the main floor. It would be nice if they would add some package deals in the future […] in order for me to think about going back there. The hotel itself was very nice but the service was severely lacking, even downright atrocious. Not one employee was capable of producing a smile. Since there were no bath robes provided, we called to have them brought up to the room. We were told that since we were in a "regular" room, bath robes are not provided. What? I thought that several hundred […] dollars a night was enough to rent a couple of bath robes for the evening. We then called the front desk to see if they could bring up a couple of wine glasses, but were told that there was charge just to have them delivered. This wasn't a to purchase them, or even to tip the bell hop...but a fee for service. Really? Since when do hotels pull stunts like that?Having been to both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, I can confidently state that the Mohegan Sun experience is truly far better than Foxwoods. I will never stay at Great Cedar again. Read more

This hotel is so nasty. Arrived and were told that although we requested a non-smoking room, we would be in an all-smoking floor. We asked if we could cancel the room and were not allowed to. We were basically forced to pay for a smoking room we did not want. Upon entering the floor, a fog of smoke hovered the ceiling and and an odor of damp towels […] resonated. The room itself was adorned with red 1990's furniture and of course, smelled like grandma's house. We both had headaches within the first 5 minutes. The customers in front of us in line had the same problem. This hotel is really disgusting and be warned, you cannot get your money back, even if you are not in the room you requested. The hotel was everything we exspected. No surprises at check-in or check- out. The room was just as the Expedia info and photos show.we were there in July ,very hot week. Very nice one-night stay. Only problem was we had a 45 minute wait at check-in because no non-smoking rooms were ready at check-in time. This was not a terrible inconvenience to us, but might have been an issue for someone else.

The hotel is conveniently located in the Foxwoods Resort casino. Our room was spacious and had a view of the forest that surrounds the casino. Overall a great stay and we will definitely return here.

After reading all reviews before staying at the Great Cedar, I must agree that this is a good hotel for families to get away for a night or a weekend. Our room was clean, and spacious, and having a pool was perfect for our kids. The hotel is very well updated! The staff at front desk was nice. Great Cedar is part of the Foxwoods Casino/ resort complex, so it is very convenient but not as costly as the "Towers". Unlike some hotels that say they are near Foxwoods, you do not have to take a shuttle bus. The hotel is nice, maybe 3 - 4 stars, my husband liked the Poker room, lots of restaurants, adequate shops and some entertainment.
