"Location is great, as is the hotel."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
The location of the hotel is unbeatable. We could hear the bells of the abbey and look out to see the parade grounds. I was initially concerned that a BW may be a big box, but they have sensitively maintained much of the character of the wonderful old hotel while incorporating modern amenities like a full, modern, spacious bathroom. We opted for the breakfast inclusive package and found it to be robust and offering many options. We set out on foot and did the whole city from this great central location.
"Stonehenge is Nearby -- Great Overnight Stop"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
We found this online and booked early. It was the weekend and there were no businessmen, but this property was just 4 miles from Stonehenge which we saw after a busy day of sightseeing. Free Parking, A nice clean, large, executive room with King bed. We were just above the bar/lobby where there is free interent, and we enjoyed it in our room instead of going downstairs. This site is next to the highway with a gas station/mini-market, KFC, and restaurant. This makes for lots of dinner and breakfast choices. We would easily return.
"Pleasant Setting and Charming Family"Reviewed by Norman T of "Dallas, TX" on Apr 17, 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was in an idylic country town which afforded great access to local sites such as Bath. Family was an absolute charm with homey rooms with comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast.... Would definitely stay there again....
"Our stay at the Alexandra"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 16, 2012
I booked the Alexandra for a business trip - my primary objective was to find a spacious, modern room in a country setting...not something easily achieved in the UK. I was really pleased - the room was perfect, the people were friendly, the restaurant and bar were really good - and we were minutes away from English countryside and beautiful sights.

"TOP ACCOMMODATION IN THE WEST COUNTRY"
This guest house is exceptionally comfortable and immaculately clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful, offering us the choice of two rooms when we arrived. Breakfasts are beautifully cooked and presented. Last, but not least, Whaddon Grove House is very close to many wonderful West Country historic houses and attractions - the perfect base […] for a sight-seeing tour. Read more
"Rural tranquility"
The B+B is in a beautiful rural location with no near neighbours, so is very peaceful. There is a swimming pool and hot tub. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They do not provide evening meals, but suggested several restaurants we could try. Our room was quite small but luxurious, with twin electric beds, a large flat screen TV, a […] night light, coffee and tea facilities, sweets and biscuits. The en suite shower room was the most luxurious we have ever enjoyed, being spacious and with top quality fittings. My only criticism is that there were no chairs in the room, and as there is no guest lounge, we had to sit on the beds. The cooked breakfast was generous and delicious, with plenty of fruit juice, cereals and toast, coffee and tea. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay again if we were in the area. "Excellent and hospitable B&B"
We originally booked only one nignt but decided to return for a second night. The only place where we decided tostay two nights during nine days' tour in England. Very up-to-date and comfortable room. Delicious breakfast.
"Beautiful!"
This B+B is stunning. the rooms and bathrooms have been recently refurbished to a standard expected in a posh hotel. The welcome is friendly and helpful, breakfast delicious. The quiet location makes it perfect for a peaceful getaway, the proximity to the A350 makes it perfect for business in Wiltshire. I only stayed 1 night for business, but will make […] sure to come back with my husband for a weekend away. Much recommended! Read more

"Whaddon Grove House - what a great place!"
We stayed for a night in the main bedroom with adjoining balcony. This overlooks the fields and te outdoor swimming pool. The whole property is furnished to a very high standard and is immaculately clean. It is a long time since I've seen chocolates in the bedroom and digital scales in the huge bathroom (jacuzzi and shower included). Great hosts and […] first class breakfast. They also have a property available in Brittany for stays. Read more
