"Quaint and comfortable"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 12, 2012
Loved this B&B! Great location on the coast, it's by a power plant but that didn't bother me. The proprietor and his family were very accommodating and sweet! Thank you for a lovely breakfast!
"Charming hotel in a lovely village"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 19, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were wonderful. The village is lovely, though the streets are narrow and parking is limited. We are glad we stayed in quiet Porlock rather than busier Minehead. Our room gave us plenty of space for our family of four, including a separate sitting room. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Lovely little place. Breakfast is out of this world. The room is quite small for a stay for more than one night. Nowhere to put things down, really. The tv is bed level so watching it takes a bit of maneuvering. But the hostess and staff are wonderful and helpful. The location is perfect for everything.

"Great for the country, quiet and idyllic"
What a fantastic B&B, with lovely welcoming staff and owners. "The Royal Oak of Luxborough"
Whilst I do not want to write anything negative about our stay at this hotel, I have to give an honest report as the hotel was a mixture of good and not so good - e.g. the bar area may be some people's idea of a country pub bar but it was small, cramped and very uncomfortable to sit in. We had a long drive to this hotel and wanted to relax, which we […] could not do in the bar. However, the dining area was lovely when we went for dinner and so we felt relaxed there. The food was good and well cooked and service was good - both for dinner and breakfast. But then the bedroom was small with inconvenient aspects e.g. the light switch for the bathroom being quite a way behind a wardrobe which was difficult to reach and the bathroom was cramped without any areas to put toilet bags etc. However the staff were pleasant and gave good service. Some may regard this hotel as a quirky, country hotel, which it is but it really requires some improvement to be regarded as a good, quirky hotel.. So overall a mixed experience. "Lovely setting friendly servicw"
But leaves something to be desired for the room. The room we stayed at had a bed with a rather thin mattress and gave us back ache. Breakfast was ok, not special. Otherwise it was great! Particularly the dinner at the pub was delicious and the staff most helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A little gem tucked away in a tranquil setting"
What an extremely well run, warm welcoming and friendly inn. We loved every minute of our stay. The service was great, the food was delicious, the staff were very professional and the locals were very friendly too. We would highly recommend the Royal Oak to our friends and family.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Genial!"
