We arrived at Hotel Rural Quinta dos Poetas on NYE 2012 and stayed for two nights. It was challenging to find the hotel even with Google maps/GPS, Recommend asking for detailed directions. Also, you must have a car as there is nothing within walking distance. We stayed for 2 nights here over New Years. The hotel has a restaraunt that served a delicious 5 course New Years Eve dinner. We were traveling with our 15 month old and the staff was very welcoming (and tolerant) of his behavior. The chef even came out to socialize with us. Overall it was a memorable experience for our family. The hotel and the grounds are quite inviting. In a rural setting, the hotel grounds are quite expansive, with lots of walking areas, pool, play area for the kids, a putting green and even 2 holes of golf. In the lobby area there is a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace and nearby a large dining room for breakfast. The room itself is modest but clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was not available in the room, only in the lobby area.

We booked 11 nights in this hotel and we would have been happy to stay longer but our schedule did not allow it. Hotel Velamar is the best value for money hotel that we have ever stayed in. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has four floors and the restaurant is on the fourth floor with panoramic views of the sea and surrounding countryside making breakfast and very pleasant meal. Our only complaint was that the bed was hard. The location is very good, there is a wide range of inexpensive restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel and the buses to/from Albufeira stop close to the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting the Algarve in November 2012. We were looking to visit Faro and opted for this hotel in Olhao since we had a rental car. This hotel is ideal if you don't mind driving to see sights and want a really nice hotel. The room itself was modern and large. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was lots of free parking out front.

Enjoyed my stay in Cerro Mara. Very clean and it has a modern layout in all apartments.It has very spacious accomidation in the one bedroom one's. The beach is ten minutes to walk to, but is very uphill on your return journey. We enjoyed this location and the old town square very much. Well worth a holiday visit.

Appartement composé d'une cuisine, salon, terrasse et chambre. Bien entretenu et propre. Hotel composé de plusieurs bâtiments assez éloignés et bénéficiant chacun d'une piscine (donc au calme). Les équipements de l'appartement sont nombreux (lave vaisselle, four, hotte malheureusement e lave vaisselle lavait très mal, la hotte ne fonctionnait pas et […] la résistance du haut du four ne fonctionnait pas de même que la climatisation de notre chambre malgré 3 relances). A noter qu'il n'y a pas de micro ondes et pas de sèche cheveux. Les ressorts du lit ne sont pas très agréable pour quelqu'un qui est sensible du dos. Le centre touristique (restaurants, bars ...) est facilement accessible à condition de monter les 98 marches ce qui reste néanmoins faisable (même avec une poussette et un enfant de 3 ans). La plage est propre, accessible facilement. Par contre, il faut presque impérativement parler un minimum d'Anglais sinon le séjour est vite difficile. Contente du séjour et de l'hôtel. Read more
