Overall the stay was wonderful. The only negative was that the pool, the surrounding area and furniture was not clean.

Our experience started very well with the helpful and intelligent front desk staff. Parking was easy, and the grounds were beautiful. Lots of trees and grass, even a fountain. It was perfect for our pet, too! I loved the granite in the entry and the bathroom. The bed and pillows we LOVED! One thing you should know about the area- it shuts down early!! […] we made the mistake of hanging out in the room and at the hot tub to long and couldn't find late night dining. Luckily for us, the honor bar was well stocked. . . Our meal consisted of 4 beers, microwave popcorn, a cliff bar, a fat bag of cashews, cheetos andkettle chips cost us twenty-seven bucks. In another hotel it could have been closer to a hundred. It feels much more like an apartment than a hotel room in general. example- it's comfortable instead of hospitalish. We also really liked the diferent lights in the room- for instance the bed side lamp had an amber hue that mase the room very romantic. I rarely review- you have to severely disappoint or impress me- but this place deserves an honorable mention! Did I mention soft robes or the big oval bathtub?! I could really go on and on. Loved it! Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath, suite was fabulous for 2 couples. With shaded parking in the heat of summer, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We took advantage of the clean, small swimming pool, which the 4 of us were able to enjoy by ourselves, as well as the happy hour and the more than adequate continental breakfast. Really nice spacious rooms (living room with fireplace, bedroom with king size, double sink bathroom, and complete kitchen). But shutters on the windows let the outside light in; so the bedroom was not very dark for sleeping. And there was a 6 AM whoomp whoomp thudding from outside the hotel that awakened me each morning. The service was a bit off in […] several ways: the housekeeper picked up and threw out my meds boxes that had the Rx numbers and refills on them. And they failed to provide refills for the tissues. The neighborhood is residential and down a very dark street after sunset. Walking back from dinner at one of Grass Valley's great restaurants was hazardous because of the tripping threat. But, overall, this is an excellent hotel with fine staff and unbeatable location just two blocks off Grass Valley's best restaurants. I recommend this place. Read more

The location is terrific. Walking distance into town and relatively modern. Most rooms are still outdated in their decor and have old tube TVs. No flat screens but have tempur pedic beds. The hot tub has never worked every time i've stayed there and check out is at 11:00am not noon so need to remember that going in.

We travel quite a bit and found this hotel to be great. We were in Grass Valley for the weekend to visit friends and get away and the hotel was perfect.
