"A very clean and modern hotel"
The rooms were very nice and comfortable with a clean toilet and the best of all, they have great air condition. The location is also very good, just a block from the main street and a short walk from the old city center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing 4 star hotel with poor service"
11/07/14 submarinerLondon London
We stayed here on a cycling holiday for one night. Our room was very disappointing for a 4 star hotel with a double foldaway bed dominating one of the walls of the room. All we had to sit on was one small garden chair. Breakfast was the most disappointing feature of the stay. Poor quality ingredients, limited choice and a total lack of service. We were not offered coffee and had to ring a bell to get someone to come and make us a cup! In the hotel handbook it said that if you asked for a second cup of coffee at breakfast they would charge you!
"OK for an overnight stay"
11/07/14 Hopeful-Guest London, United Kingdom
This hotel is perfectly adequate for an overnight stay, just not anything special. Room was small but clean with a comfortable bed. Only one chair for two people and a plastic garden chair at that. Shockingly bad security with passports. They took ours at check in and when I came down 30 minutes later, they were just sitting on the empty desk - anyone could have walked in and stolen them. Breakfast was not of the same high quality as many of the other hotels we visited in the region. Choice was poorer and the young lady just walked away without even offering us coffee.
"Easily accessible modern hote"
11/04/14 Paul W Alcester
The hotel is well positioned within a short walking distance of the old town, the modern areas of Galipolli and beaches to both sides of the peninsular are only a few hundred metres away. Modern, clean and well equipped rooms make for a comfortable stop over, although the room we stayed in was quite small it was adequate. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was sufficient. For us This was a one night stop on a cycling tour, would consider staying again for one or two nights only.
"Nice hotel, shame about the staff"
09/14/14 Oliver B
We stayed in the 33 Baroni hotel at the end of a lovely holiday in Salento. The booking was last minute, but the receptionist on the phone (and later the same one who checked us in) was helpful and very friendly. The hotel itself is well situated: it is located on a quiet street in the new town of Gallipoli, and only a 10-minute walk from the centro storico. The rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately, their aftercare let us down totally. First, there was very little hot water in the shower. Boilers are probably shared between the rooms, or only activated at key times during the day (we showered at 6pm or thereabouts). In any case, the water was lukewarm at best. Second was the toilet, the flush of which must have been on Niagara Falls setting due to the amount of water it jettisoned out onto the floor. Third, and most importantly, was how they dealt with the two challenges. We pointed them out straight away to the lady at reception, who was different from the one who attended us before. Her English was not good, neither was her customer service, so our ability to explain the problems was not easy. After speaking to the management, she said they would only be able to fix both things on Monday, as it was now the weekend (Saturday evening). No apologies whatsoever. We were staying one day only, so the solution was inadequate. The following morning at check out we mentioned both these matters to the man whom we suspected was the owner or the general manager (tan, well dressed, nice watch, no name tag). Not a word of apology or regret for the inaction/inconvenience. It's a shame to have to give this place such a poor review, but for a 4* establishment, they could have done much, much better.
"A modern hotel hidden in the backstreets of the new part of Gallipoli"
07/19/14 Christopher T Merseyside
We stayed here on our cycling tour of Puglia. The hotel is not in the old town on the island and is hidden in a backstreet. The hotel is modern but the rooms are quite small but with all the essentials. The two young girls on reception were eager to help but not very knowledgeable. Breakfast in summer was on the terrace on top of the hotel which was most pleasant with very helpful assistants. We would recommend for couples and friends.
"Fair hotel but nasty service"
07/12/14 Mark v Utrecht, The Netherlands
Expensive hotel in Gallipolli, room is ok and clean but bathroom extremely small, there is not even space to put your toiletry anywhere. Beds are ok. The price / quality ratio is not ok here. Staff: two of the girls of the reception were friendly. The rest of the staff is simply not friendly. Breakfast is situated on the rooftop terrace, a nice spot, but you forget how nice it is, since the service of the waiter is extremely bad. No bon giorno or other welcoming feelings. The sign on the enclosed photo says it all. Not worthy for a hotel in this price range. On top of it all: when we stayed there, one of the water ducts broke down at midnight in one of the rooms above us. Until deep in the night there was a lot of noise, water being sucked, furniture being moved above our heads, water leaking towards our room, etc. we did not sleep for half of the night. However, the next day: no remarks, no excuses, nothing from the staff. We do understand that a leak occurs, but the way it was dealt with from the hotel staff was really unprofessional. For that reason we made a financial arrangement with the staff.
"Do not choose this hotel!"
06/09/14 susanne681183 Thouars, France
Small, dark rooms without any taste in their decoration. Dark small bathroom. When we came up to have breakfast (at 08.20) many of the things were already finished. We had to ask for the most essential things because most of the serving plates were empty ( one could see remainders of fruit salad, remainders of bread, of the cheese, and of the natural yoghurt. Though, some ham was served after us asking, but otherwise the only thing would be sweet pastries and sweet yoghurts. The wifi that was said to function in the rooms, did only function in the lobby. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the personnel was nice, but not professional at all. Gallipoli was a cute little place, but next time i would go into the old town and find something there.
"Full marks to Hotel Baroni 33"
04/09/14 LaMouton Leitrim, Ireland
Made a one night visit to charming Gallipoli and stayed at the Baroni. It is perfectly located within a short stroll of the old town; it's modern, clean with friendly efficient staff and they do a satisfying bouffet breakfast. It's a fiver extra to park in one of their reserved spaces in the street, but the overall price was very reasonable for the quality supplied. Would recommend unreservedly.
"Very nice hotel in a beautifull city"
Nice clean room, terace on the roof for good breakfast, good location, close to the old and the new part of town, close to beautiful beaches, good restaurants around and charming peoples. I went there on a bike trip and i will be back again.

My friends and I wanted to spend a weekend in Gallipoli, but not spend too much money...and this hotel definitely did the trick! Good location (in the center of the new town, and a 5 minute walk from the historic center), helpful staff, and very clean and modern rooms. The breakfast, although decidedly Italian (which might not satisfy your average North American tourist) was good, and the view from the terrace was beautiful. All of this for some of the cheapest prices I've ever paid.
