This is a good and more affordable alternative to the more expensive "water front" options, the location is excellent if you want to stay on the west end (which is highly recommended). The restaurant was a bit disappointing, the food was OK but they had no white wine when the special was grouper, and they said they couldn't make any cocktails. The swimming […] pool didn't look very inviting, but then, who needs a pool when you have a beautiful beach just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel? The kitchenette was very handy and we cooked most of our meals after we managed to find a mini market open. I chose Rancho El Sobrino based on price and the fact that there were limited kitchen facilities so I could self-cater. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the place had a lovely family feel about it. The place is a bit tacky and wouldn't suit a luxury traveller, but it was simple and clean and down-to-earth. There was a fridge, toaster, […] kettle and sink in my room, and a restaurant on site. However, there are no shops within walking distance, so if you are planning to self-cater you either need to have a car or go shopping beofre you leave Wilhelmstaat. There is a small swimming pool, but there is a beach within walking distance, so I didn't use it. Read more

Het kleine complex is heel mooi en met veel liefde en creativiteit aangelegd. Qua ambiente precies wat wij zochten. Het ligt op het mooiste en groenste gedeelte van het eiland dicht bij een aantal mooie kleine stranden. Het appartement dat wij hadden was voor ons beiden absoluut groot genoeg met een groot balkon met dak. Alhoewel het complex niet direct […] aan de zee ligt, heeft men er vroeger beslist een prachtig uitzicht over een groenvlakte en daarna de zee gehad. Helaas heeft de buurman precies in dit zichtveld een groot aantal lelijke witte huisjes geplaatst. Beslist de lelijkste huisje die we op Curacau hebben gezien. Ook een grote, schijnbaar vergeten container lag direct in ons blikveld. Aan al dit kan de eigenaar van Rancho niets doen, maar ons vakantie geluk werd er wel door geminderd. Wel onbegrijpelijk is een volledig doorgezeten stoel op het balkon. Of een niet werkende kluis die ook niet werd gerepareerd (later hoorden we dat wel vaker wat gestolen wordt, dus een kluis is geen overbodige luxe). De pannen hadden ongeveer nog 50% van hun anti aanbaklaag. De koelkast was niet meer in te stellen, alles wat er in ging werd bevroren. Dit zijn allemaal dingen die eenvoudig en met geringe kosten up-to-date gehouden kunnen worden. Het personeel van Rancho was uiterst vriendelijk. Dit maakt het een prettige omgeving om te zijn. Helaas worden afspraken (zoals de kluis reparatie of het verzorgen van postzegels) niet nagekomen. Read more

Un hôtel vraiment charmant, très calme et avec un personnel très acueillant et serviable. Très belle plage à proximité et de nombreux sites de plongée pour les amateurs. Nécessité d'avoir une voiture car se trouve quand même à 1h environ de route de la capitale Willemstad, ville magnifique à voir absolument.
