The hotel was very good. We had requested two single beds and did not find that. The kitchenette is rather poorly equipped, but useable. Staff was wonderful.
"Correct Expectations - Clean room for 2..."Reviewed by Cary and Ryan J of "Aliso Viejo, CA" on Mar 26, 2012
I came to San Pedro to have a father/son vacation scuba diving. Clean room for 2, hot shower, air conditioning, a little TV is what I expected and got, therefore, 5 stars! My son and I were happy to spend our money on diving and food. What I did not expect was awesome service from Cindy and the other staff, making arrangements for diving, excursions and room adjustments. Cindy said, "If you don't tell me, I can't make it smooth", smooth was our whole trip! You are on vacation, don't expect WiFi to make it into your room (hotel side). I would go on about Pizza, the Bar, pool, etc… but, everyone else has covered that :) --- Yes, those are good things too!

This is a great quiet get away to relax. The grounds were top notch. For us, it just wasn't our taste, as it was very dark and damp being in a jungle setting. Our room was like staying in a basement, with all cement walls. It was beautifully done with lots of tile and decorations, but it was just a bit to fancy for our taste. We were happier with cabanas on a Caye with a beach. It was nice for a change of pace, but I wouldn't spend a lot of time there. If you're into expensive mood mud, messages, etc., this is for you!

We liked the staff so much, and the area was a surprising interest. All of our needs were considered by staff, and the home-like,neighborly atmosphere lent a sense of local identity which often is lacking in modern travel experiences. I cannot think of a better place for us, as long as one is economy-minded.

"great value!"
nicest place i've stayed on the island. very comfortable rooms and beds. bathroom is nice too. only thing missing is a swimming pool! only one block from the water taxi pier and beach. nice that its one block off the busy main street, so its not as loud.
"Great spot in Caye Caulker"
Caye Caulker Plaza Hotel is perfect for an overnight stay on the island. The room was clean, the TV and A/C in good working condition, and the location is two blocks from the water taxi terminal. They have free coffee in the morning, WIFI in the common areas, and there is a convenience store and Chinese Restaurant across the street. Overall, I was very […] satisfied with the place. Read more
"Caye Caulker Plaza Hotel - a pleasant hotel"
This hotel is a gem with well appointed rooms with reasonable prices. Front desk is very helpful.
"Caye Caulker Plaza Hotel"
Flew in from the airport - complimentary taxi pickup was wonderful. Hotel is located a away from the Split (beach area) and not ocean-front but island is so small that it didn't matter. Caye Caulker does not have a "beach" so even if you're staying at an ocean front, you may get a nice view but that's all the difference is. Staff was wonderfully nice […] and helped me find some good local meal options. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Nice shower with hot water and inroom safe. I'm not a backpacker and didn't want to stay in a "guest house". I also didn't want to spend $$$ so this hotel was the perfect choice for me. Caye Caulker is a small, very laid back island so if you want more of a party/bar scene, you should go to San Pedro. This hotel was the best choice if you want a nice, clean, safe hotel with great staff that is conveniently located to everything if you plan to stay in Caye Caulker. Read more
"Okay"
The staff were very nice and helpful, directing us to tasty food when asked. Hotel is very safe with 24 hr service and security cameras. The hotel itself is decent, clean, and we kind of liked the fact that it was in the middle of the island, rather than on the ocean front. No elevators and 3 floors, but they'll help you if you ask. Not all rooms have […] balconies, even though the hotels.com website says they all do. "Deluxe" is a room without a balcony. But when we mentioned this, they upgraded us without charge. It was a pleasant stay overall. Read more
"Room Key"
The room key controlled the Electricity of the room! You could not leave the A/C on to keep your room cold. On Another note: Be careful if you are using the Water Taxi. Not all of the published times are Honored.

"Just got off the plane from Caye Caulker, Belize"
Me and my girlfriend just visited Caye Caulker and honestly, this hotel helped us make our decision to stay in Caye Caulker vs. staying on the other island or in Placencia. The staff and the price makes the difference here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were missing some towels and they were quickly given to us. The room was clean and […] above standard for the the island. It is the main hotel of the island and operates as such compared to "the cabana and beach house like" accomadations that you will find around the island. You are on an island and as such, this hotel provides a good mix between laid back beach bumming and civilization. P.S. There are PLENTY of over priced places in Caye Caulker including places to eat...Eat were Belizeans eat...try the "fast food" of Pirates across the street...great food! Read more
