After viewing all the other reviews, I selected this hotel. What a pleasant surprise. Restaurant for dinner is pricey but worth it. The breakfast (by voucher) is way above what you would normally see on a breakfast buffet.Will definitely stay at Best Western Plus again. White Spot Restaurant across the street is upscale and food is wonderful.

I was surprised by the tidiness of our room specially the innovations the housekeeper was using to decorate the towels. It was very convenient to stay with an 18 month old baby!

"Sandman Signature - A Place to Avoid"
Bad customer service, bad beds and bad housekeeping. The manager of the hotel was asked for help three separate times for three separate items. We were treated like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. At the end of 3 nights (which were prepaid or we would have gone elsewhere) my wife could barely walk […] her back was so sore (no other bed has produced this reaction for her). While the hotel is new, the room decor was confusing. Why would you have the identical picture on multiple walls in the room. The housekeeping staff at least gave us new towels each day, but only bothered to make the bed on one day in spite of my ensuring that only bedding remained on the beds when we went out each day. I would not recommend this hotel to others, and have suggested to at least 4 in the last three days that they never even consider this hotel. Read more

All our relatives in the BestWestern, behind us, ate @ the Rockwell or Chops. Having such excellent food options was a plus! Will happily re-book again.
only issue is that I forgot a hair straightener and have left 3 messages with the lost and found and no one has responded back.
Fantastic Hotel, amazing decore. Worth the money.. Friendly staff..I would recommend this to anybody who has to stay in Edmonton
"Breif but nice stay"
This hotel is still undergoing some construction but, it did not bother me in the least. The rooms are very modern, spacious and new. The beds, linens and pillows are new and comfortable. The staff is very professional and courteous. The lobby is very inviting and the attached resturant is decent. I would stay again the next time that I am in area.

"Feels like a five star hotel"
I enjoyed every bit of it! The room was a king suite, absolutely gorgeous! Great kitchen and sitting area. Even had a washer and dryer in the suite. Bed was do comfortable. It was a real treat, and will be staying there again the next time I'm in Edmonton.

"Nice place!"
The hotel is quite clean and new. The outer rooms slope to the outside which is kinda weird but all in all nice place to stay.
Found room to be very dim/dark. Lighting is not good at all, especially in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable but pillows were way to fluffy.

This hotel was great but the gentlemen that took the online reservation neglected to see that we requested and paid for a King room and we ended up with a Queen bed. This is the part that most discouraged us as this is the only reason we book select hotels in any city. The manager apologized profusely and said that he would deal with the employee. The hotel stay overall was a positive one. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the beds were super comfortable. However, I was disappointed when my original reservation was for a room with 2 queen beds, and there was just the 1 king when we arrived...slightly uncomfortably with 3 people. The next day, we did get the 2 queen beds. […] The restaurant was hit or miss with food quality...cold grub. The menu also really needs a kids menu for breakfast!! Read more
full of kids which is fine for some but that baby four foot by four foot swimming pool is the worst i have ever seen. tv selection poor no rental of movie systems , little in the way of ammenities. Coffee shop or restauraunt poor breakfast , long wait

"Great hotel / great food"
We enjoyed our stay at the Sandman. Everything like home - clean room, efficient front desk service, convenient restaurant with excellent food, service & pricing. One question? Why only a 3 & not a 5-star rating? We'll definitely stay here on our next visit to Edmonton.
Loved this hotel! Looked gorgeous and service was excellent! Wish I could have stayed longer.

"New and comfortable"
Only missed that there was no shower cap but really pleased with the lighting in the room. Most hotels are "dim bulbs". Quiet and good service. Will stay there again.

Easy to find and, and very good location. Modern, bright from the oputside, and very well finished in the lobby. Room was niceley designed, although a bit small. That was easy to overlook though as everything else was fine.

"Great Hotel ... Terrible Service"
The Hotel is nice and new, still some areas under construction. The room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately the customer service was not so accommodating. The front desk provided little assistance with anything and were not very personable. Even when asked about nearby restaurants, we were told "They're over there […] and over there" with a finger point for directions. Read more
"NIce, new, and clean"
Just a minor beef with this hotel. When I checked in, the staff member wanted to charge a $200 preauthorization to my credit card. She said it was for incidentals that I might have. That was unusual and was the first time that happened to me. When I was checking out I asked a different staff member about it and she said that it should have been $50 […] but the $200 would come off my visa within 3 bus. days. Annoying but not a big deal. Decor on entering the hotel was very nice and created a good impression, along with the free coffee machine offering an array of choices; however, construction/finishing materials within the hotel room were cheap and showing a lot of wear for a new hotel. Pool was not open yet, although this was not advertised....disappointed toddlers for us. The two […] elevators near the front desk operated differently; one required the use of your room key and the other didn't. Front staff was very brisk and unfriendly; we were told to use our room key for the elevators (no mention of the difference between them), and then when it wouldn't work for the one, the front desk staff member was rude and impatient. We witnessed the same scenario with another guest of the hotel. Cleanliness and comfort were great; the hotel has done well in those departments, but are definitely lacking in customer service. "way to far out"
if you do not know your way to this hotel, you will miss the turn. then you will end up at the airport before you can turn around. there is no easy access to this hotel. the hotel was still under construction, but the parts that were complete were beautiful. there is no attached restaurant, you have to go outside to eat. there is no room service, no […] vending machines. the restaurant that is closest, is not very famiuly friendly at all. Very wonderful experience. The hotel is shiny and new and the staff are wonderful. Very helpful with all my requests. I look forward to staying there in the near future.
