I liked that the rooms were inexpensive and included breakfast. When we booked, they said that they had plenty of cots available but when we arrived, found that a cot wouldn't fit in our room and they provided a foam cushion for our son on the floor. They delivered it instantly, but I would have booked another room if I knew in advance that he would be sleeping on the floor. It was easy to stay there with my family as everything I needed was at hand. The pub (bar) was a bit weird as it's not finished and was an uncomfortable setting even though it's temporary. It was a bit far from the Edmonton Mall.

I really liked the fact that the card keys are used by simply touching them to the door to open them instead of having to slide the card into a slot. However, one of the side entrances did not have the mechanism in place and was locked. You could use the door only from the inside out not the outside in. Bad customer service, bad beds and bad housekeeping. The manager of the hotel was asked for help three separate times for three separate items. We were treated like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. At the end of 3 nights (which were prepaid or we would have gone elsewhere) my wife could barely walk […] her back was so sore (no other bed has produced this reaction for her). While the hotel is new, the room decor was confusing. Why would you have the identical picture on multiple walls in the room. The housekeeping staff at least gave us new towels each day, but only bothered to make the bed on one day in spite of my ensuring that only bedding remained on the beds when we went out each day. I would not recommend this hotel to others, and have suggested to at least 4 in the last three days that they never even consider this hotel. Read more

This hotel is still undergoing some construction but, it did not bother me in the least. The rooms are very modern, spacious and new. The beds, linens and pillows are new and comfortable. The staff is very professional and courteous. The lobby is very inviting and the attached resturant is decent. I would stay again the next time that I am in area.

Facility was close to Edmonton Intl Airport. Located in a quiet surrounding. Efficient front desk manager, good restaurant with superb menu. On check-in, there was a mix up with my reservation, but was effectively managed by the manager-on-duty (Heidi). Kudos to her managerial skills. Will stay in the hotel again.

I have stayed at this particular Sandman on 2 other occassions - both were exceptional. This particular visit was not. Check in was awkward - and not very efficient. We had a reservation for 5 in the Chop lounge. We were seated in the restaurant at a table for 4. The food was AMAZING. We had breakfast at the Rockford the next morning. Again the food […] was great - the service seemed awkward and the server seemed less than pleased to be there. On our checkout date the breaker went in our bathroom - at 10:30am we called. Had to clean the room myself....food in the sink....dirty dishes in cupboard...hair in the jacuzzi tub....coffee cup stains on the countertops......discusting . Have call the hotel myself, but know answer yet.....very very dissatisfied.

Very dissatisfied. Vehicle was broken into in their parking lot. Room was very small. Bathroom tap was ready to fall off. Key card kept getting deactivated. No coffee or tea available in lobby in the morning. Would never stay there again!!!!

Loved the bed, so comfy BUT the countertop in our sweet was all chipped and stained. Quite embarrassing when friends came to pick us up it looked as if the countertop was filthy was they were permanent stains. For the price there is no way it should have been like that.

The coffee pot, fridge & microwave being placed in a dark cabinet, made it very difficult in seeing what you where doing, especially making coffee. One person in our party poured the coffee onto the carpet, because the lid was not on correct - due to lack of the darkness of the unit.

Was disapointed in that they didn't have complimentary breakfast. Also would have liked to rent a movie but it wasnt working. The hallways were very hot, seemed really warm in the building. No laundry room facility...Stayed in Aug. The beds are really comfortable, was very pleased with the room.

The room was ready when we arrived, no problems at check-in. I like the idea that only a hotel guest can access only the floor their room is on, via the elevator. The elevator requires a key pass to activate. The room was average, but quite new and has a fridge and microwave included. With the exception of the unruly guests in our hallway, slamming […] doors and yelling around midnight (no fault of the hotel, just very rude people), the hotel was very quiet. We found the mattresses a little soft for our taste. Lots of towels and 2 housecoats provided. Pleasant front end staff. Going against convention, we appreciate the lack of dogs! The location is very convenient if you are arriving to Edmonton on the south, right off the highway at Ellerslie road. I enjoyed every bit of it! The room was a king suite, absolutely gorgeous! Great kitchen and sitting area. Even had a washer and dryer in the suite. Bed was do comfortable. It was a real treat, and will be staying there again the next time I'm in Edmonton.

We arrived at the hotel at 7:00 p.m. after an entire day of travel only to learn that our room was not ready. We had to wait an hour for the room to be cleaned. The lighting in the room was aplorable. The coffee maker was stored in a hutch with absolutely no lighting and I burned myself quite badly trying to pour coffee due to the poor lighting. Are […] they trying to save money by cutting down on the use of lightbulbs??? The second day we had no housekeeping service and trying to get coffee from the desk clerk or housekeeping staff was like pulling teeth. No apologies were ever made for the late check-in or the lack of housekeeping service. On the surface the hotel looks nice and new, but on closer inspection is not very clean and the staff not very interested. I would expect more from a "signature" hotel. Read more
