"Last Two Nights in Iceland"
I couldn't have picked a better place to stay during my last two nights in Iceland. The hotel is essentially a working farm and the scenery is breathtaking. I could sit at my desk and stare out the window for hours. The restaurant is fantastic. They serve all locally sourced dishes. I had the lamb fillet and the chile pepper salmon. If you are a fan […] of blue cheese, don't miss the stuffed mushrooms. After the wonderful meal take advantage of the hot tubs situated next to the stream. "A perfect location right on Route 1"
Prebooking information about the hotel was absolutely accurate! There are wonderful little well equiped cottages on the hillside, hot tubs by the stream and an excellent restaurant and shop selling local handmade handcrafts. We were given a map and clear directions on how to visit several must see sights (if you are on a waterfall and volcano tour!) […] Barnafoss and the Grabok crater are within easy access. We had one of the best meals we had in Iceland - all local produce, Icelandic dishes, fantastic homemade skyr - this is a highly recommended hotel for people wanting to "rough it just a little bit!" (we took advantage of the no linen option - using our own sleeping bags!) After navigating some pretty dicey "almost" roads on the north side of the S. penninsula to reach this destination, we couldn't have been happier with the facility or the generous hospitality of the owners! "Country Hotel"
An Icelandic family has bought land in rural, western Iceland and step-by- step built a place for tourists. Eight rooms are under a common roof, but there are also some cabins apart from the main hotel/restaurant. In-suite bathrooms are convenient, and rooms are cheery. Two outdoor hot tubs provide a stunning view of the side of a mountain on one side […] and the valley below on the other. Owners speak both Icelandic and English quite well. "Lovely cabins"
We stayed in one of the cabin close to the hotel. The cabins are very quite. Great location. Good food in the restaurant. The guesthouse owner also runs the farm and you can enjoy waching the animals of the farmGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Logeren op de kinderboerderij"
