Berggasthaus Panorama Klewenalp - Beckenried

We spent two nights and enjoyed them both. We arrived early and the hotel staff was more than happy to hold our luggage and place it in the room for us so we could immediately go out and explore Lucerne. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and it provides convenient access to town. The hotel location is across the lake from Lucerne, but that gives you some beautiful views of the city and the surrounding mountains. Well worth not being in the hustle and bustle of a busy town. The hotel is right on the edge of Lake Lucerne.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was nice and the bed/pillows very comfortable, and the breakfast (included) was outstanding. The hotel was located nearby everything.

Hotel is closed to main attractions. However, if traveling by car you need to park your car in a private city parking lot, which can be very expensive. Room was fairly small for a family of four. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable- children had to sleep with us on a double bed. Receptionist was very helpful and was fluent in English. If you are on budget, it's a good 3 star hotel.

There is about a 15 minute train ride from Lucerne but it drops you off a the top of the hill from the hotel. We enjoyed the hotel - having been upgraded to a suite room with kitchenette gave us opportunity to cook/eat in our room. There was a nearby garden/park that was nice to sit by the lake and take in the magnificent views. Not much else to do around the hotel, but it was nice to come back and relax. The hotel breakfast buffet was absolutely wonderful! It not only made a beautiful spread, but tasted as good as it all looked!
